The screen is much brighter then you think. That front panel is smoked or tinted. Usually it's just a dark film on the back of the plastic screen. I'm not saying take your toaster apart but I probably would. Cheers! Your video showed me exactly what I needed to not buy this before first giving more consideration to other non digital toasters! I like the touch screen and all but not into the black and smoked panel. I rather a full stainless with a modern yet timeless look. Thanks!
