Good interview. The older Bob gets, even though the stories are the same, the more entertaining they are it seems. Next time, ask Bob about Damon Bradshaw and if they still talk anymore up in Idaho.

    LEGEND!
Hannah was my hero when I was a kid in the late 70s and still is today!
When you say he transcended the sport in the US, I'm in New Zealand he transcended the world, maybe Americans don't appreciate this, but it was him that made me fall in love with US MX and esp SX at the time, I appreciated the GPs because we have a very broad psyche in NZ for sports and world events its how we are bought up even with the limited and delayed access to world events especially back then! That's how big a deal it is.
I had 3 hero's back then Borg, Ali and "Hannah"!
The other 2 have faded for me, but not Hannah!
You have no idea how long Id wait for a magazine just to get a picture of him, my Dad was also the same as his, scared shitless of me on any bike, held me back for years which I still haven't forgiven my Dad for, I love him to death he is still alive, but it still pisses me off to this day he held me back from racing as long as he did! It hurt me it got me injured later in life, because I was over riding POS, instead of riding what my ability matched. Dads friends were telling him to put me on 250s at 12 nd 14 years of age! I paid for my own freaking bikes at that age always had bought my own bikes, my Dad never bought me a motor bike ever! I sill got made to ride a fn trials bike one year 12yo, a freakin 4t for another year which I hated but I loved bikes, so I bought and rode it. I wanted a Yellow YZ we only got white and red which I also hated, I wanted a Yellow/Black YZ like Hannah not some stinking white and red thing, I wanted to ride Yamaha and did by age 15 and never went back except a couple of times to Honda, blame Hannah for that though, 86 and 93 250, back on Yamaha now, but Bob is still my hero, I could listen to him all day everyday just talking about Chick Fil A. greatest American hero for mine! Thanks Hurricane! 🏆💯

Whiskey Throttle did a new interview with Jeff Ward. Ward said that Bob pitted in a separate truck and would not talk to Ricky or Jeff during the whole Motocross des Nations. Interesting to hear Bob's side of the story.
