Great video! I got my first Metro last May (for the 2024 model in blue) and I'm in LOVE! And btw, it is not your weight, I weigh 112 lbs and the fastest I go is about 38. And even then, my Metro feels like it's straining. I find the comfortable top speed is about 36, 37. Enjoy and be safe!
Thank you! I’ve actually stumbled across a video about a blue one recently lol (Not sure if that was yours or not). But I do agree, the engine works pretty hard at top speed and it’s been a pet peeve of mine. But as of now I’ve got a little over 300 miles on it and I try to take it out every weekend when I can. Great little gas saver and fun to ride! Just remember to change the oil once you hit 600 miles though.
@@SmoothiesLounge Awesome! Thats equivalent to 51 kilometers per liter a considerable good amount of mileage but we have honda beat 110 here in the philippines which is also a very effiscient scooter about 60 - 65 kilometers per liter depending on your driving habit and weight. Thats equivalent also to 165 - 184 mpg 😁 thanks man have a great day and ride safe cheers ✌️
I've owned a 50cc scooter and you got to live in a flat area. Even if it's a 2 stroke engine scooter it will be pretty slow up hill unless your a light weight then it will just be slow up hills😂 A 4 stroke scooter will crawl up hills and will hold up traffic. People behind you will be pissed off.
@HoboGardenerBen depends your weight and height. Height really matters because of wind drag. Honestly 150cc should be okay for city and some busier roads. But won't sustain a high speed for a long period of time on the highway. Also a 150cc may struggle up a long hill and you will have to move into the slow lane. That said a 150cc is a great scooter to learn on and maybe all you need. A 150cc is usually almost as nible as a 50cc and easy to handle.
That is why I think it is worth getting a motorcycle license so you can buy a 150cc. So much more fun to ride. Besides it is not that hard to get a MC license. In my state you can sign up for a motorcycle riding class at the DMV, they provide 250cc motorcycles if you do not own your own. You can take it on any size bike you wish and yes you can take it on a scooter. If you pass the course, you are then issued a motorcycle license.
@@scrambler69-xk3kv Ywah, was thinking 49cc scooter because I want to go slow but the Honda Trail125 is a better balance of factors. Worth getting the license.
Hey, so I have a 2020 Honda super cub and it is more expensive but in my opinion it’s worth the extra money. I have a 65 L locking box that’s also waterproof and have a small box on the front and I have gears and gears are cool. Pretty sure it goes faster than this. I don’t know what size the motor is in this one, but I have a 125 cc engine but yeah, I would definitely get the instead but I’m OK with spending the extra money but if you don’t need to go fast, I’m sure this thing is reliable but if I was gonna go cheap, I think I’d go with the Honda Navi that has wonder 110 cc and I’ve got big tires which can take the bumps better but hey if y’all want something really tiny and really cheap this will probably be OK but it’s just not big enough for me because I want to ride everywhere all the time and I need something bigger, so that’s what I got I had it. I got it and I have 8500 miles on it so that’s cool.
@ you can get one save up some money and get one they don’t cost a lot. I recently just purchased a 1982 Honda trail 110 for 2300 bucks. It has 8000 miles on it and the previous owner recently restored it I need to do a few tweaks to it like adjust the carburetor and there’s like one minor rust spotthat’s like surface rust I need to contend with. I want an older one that has the high low gear range.
I love it but it's too slow. Everyone told me not to buy a 50cc. I ignored them and replaced it within a year. Wish Honda would make a 150cc that has similar styling. Vespa will win that class, without a better option.
No dude. They are gutless, no power. If you are buying a 50cc scooter then get a scooter with a 2 stroke engine for a little more power. I've owned a 50cc scooter and you got to live in a flat area. Too much flat black. They could have at least made the wheels and forks silver, and put a silver or chrome cover over the exhaust. Flat black helmet too, huh? I have a $120 HJC CL-77, in bright WHITE. You are not going to ride a Metropolitan where I live, other than 25 mph residential streets. The streets that actually go anywhere are 45 mph, and traffic goes 55-60+ mph. You would get killed very quickly. I found my Lance Cali Classic 125 keeps up with city traffic fairly well, and my Vespa GT200 handles 65 mph roads.

@@SmoothiesLounge Hey man, Have you tried measuring the mpg on this?
@@dute007 I believe around 144 MPG. From a full tank of gas I forgot exactly how far I went but I think it was somewhere between 110-120 miles.

How does it handle the bumps in the road and rocks and debris that piles up
You're fun, good video :)
I love them, but a six foot tall guy looks ridiculous on them. But I would love to own one.
I use a Ebike to get around town looking at getting a Ruckus I hate cars that much

I so badly want this scooter, but I live in nyc and have no idea how to keep this cutie from getting stolen. What do you do to protect her?
I’d put it in a garage, but if that’s not an option I just cover it with a motorcycle cover. Also it has a steering and a key lock to prevent theft.
