Nice video, thanks for posting. What's your opinion now that you've driven it for 10 months as a daily? Have there been times you wished it were quieter, what scenarios?
Hey, thanks! I appreciate the support. I definitely have not had any scenarios where I wished it were quieter. The overall experience has been positive. Build quality is 10/10, and install fitment is a 9/10 in my opinion. Overall it’s a well rounded unit. Looks great, sounds great, and still retains a lot of the OEM intake functionality (which is actually really good on these G8X models)
Thanks for this! I had the Dinan box on my M340i. I picked up a G80 in June and this has been a top choice for me. The Gruppe M is the grail, but I'm likely to pull the trigger on the Dinan in the next few weeks
lol! I get it, trust me! I do use this car almost daily but Florida is super humid as opposed to your dry/dusty conditions so that helps in not having so much dust in my bay when driving. My challenge is always water/mud spots flinging all over the outside of the car. I also use a ceramic detail spray to clean/coat the bay surfaces which REALLY helps in keeping it as spot free as possible (not perfect) 👍🏼
when you filmed this video, was this the only change from true stock? I have an Xdrive g80, that I'm getting ready to probably do the Dinan CAI, mid pipe and exhaust, all at once. It's interesting to hear those mods separately. Thanks
Thanks! And yeah, the intake was the first “performance” mod on this car. Then exhaust (in sections) and so on. So I wanted to document everything individually that way for my own experience, and so others could see and hopefully hear the difference at every step. Enjoy your build! You’ll love this CAI.
I had these on mine I think they look and sound great, I don’t think performance wise they are an upgrade I ended up going back to stock with drop ins.
Nice. Yeah I’m not sure as to the exact performance numbers as compared to stock. My goal here was to add sound and engine bay appeal, and power increases would be a bonus. When I dyno it I’ll post numbers 👍🏼
I do feel a little snappier throttle response, but I also have not had this on the dyno since install so I can’t confirm on paper. This Dinan setup is as close to OE as possible (from what I’ve seen) so IAT’a should be happy still

Absolutely! Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Happy to provide more insight if you do end up installing it yourself. I love it so far!
If you’re using this as a daily, how on earth are you keeping your engine bay that clean?? I live in AZ and everything is dusty AF. Any pointers?

Other than sound and looks any performance gain?

nice job
Thank you! 🙏
Eventuri is the best bro, but expensive yes.
They do make a beautiful product! I do agree 👍🏼
Any significant HP increase? Can you feel the difference?
I can definitely feel a difference. I wouldn’t say it’s significant by any means, but it does feel more responsive 👍🏼
Dinan is absolute garbage
Interesting opinion. Sorry you had a bad experience.
