I enjoyed how Dima already resorted into semi chinese powerplay with his style here (probably because of the tacky Dignics 09c?) I enjoyed how Lebrun (and some other new non-chinese players) are adding more effective styles to TT other than the pure power plays of the Chinese pros And most of all, I enjoy how well Adam has already gauged the new players' styles lol---even predicted the windshield wiper serve

Has the service rule of point of contact has to be behind the line , not over the table changed?? Lots of serves and especially reverse pendulum contact over the table

In my opinion, Lebrun's serves are officially not 100% compliant. But he is not the only one.. He plays very, very well. The loud behavior is... borderline.. but he is a fantastic player.

@@David-oo4yj if you hit the net, it wont climb over by random chance created by an increased variability by the vibrations of the net, the tightness of the sting inside the net, and all kinds of other factors that are not constant and fair. if you hit the net too low on a metal net, you lose the point. if you hit ontop of the net, you can win a point. a ball flying high and coming down on the net will similarly be fairly divided by a more rigid line in metal.

@@Firebrother1 i did table tennis in a club and the rule was clear , if u are at the table and u throw it then u have served whatever u touch it or not ( unlike u said ) and it’s pretty logical cuz the guys cant bait the opponent each time he wants then ..
@@blackout4475 I think he was allowed because it was his first serve on that side of the table. He did a similar toss before his first serve the game prior and Adam remarked something along the lines of "checking the air conditioning"

Мне кажется если на этом уровне не бегать за мячом, как это делал овчаров - это приговор. Догоняет мячи в основном рукой - в стойку в большинстве случаев не успевает встать
Сдается мне , что мяч на этом турнире совсем тухлый что-ли, медленный. Много топов на турнире делают много невынужденных ошибок, не свойственных им. В свою очередь, кто-то тренил подобными мячами накануне и прекрасно себя показал в игре ими....

Ovtcharov is trying to delay and break up the rythm of the young player..when I played as a kid, these old farts would do the same…so annoying back then, still annoying even to just watch this. Lebrun, well done!
As Adam said, Lebrun gave him ample time to get ready. Give some free points to the server, that'll teach Dima to get ready in time. This sport needs more action and less waiting.
@@ttime9947 it all depends on how long the receiver takes to get ready. Elite players have been getting slower for every decade. Look at clips from the 80s. Much more TT/min.
@@ttime9947 Why not pick the best parts from examples that we see? Does it matter whether its how they do it in another part of the world, a long time ago, or just an idea that someone has? Has something changed in recent years that make the players suddenly unable to play a great table tennis point unless they think about it for 20 seconds first?

net balls can go in your favor, but also heavily in the opponents favor ..
