    Delta Pi: If I had to give one martial art to NOT start with, it would be BJJ. Realistically, I always can judge people by what they think is "lethal". Trying to ground FIGHT is not at all the smart thing to do and all BJJ teachers who teach that should be arrested for endangering the public. Next, Fighting is not that complex. When I said one needs to raise their level of violence I was talking about of course being lethal! Otherwise what good would it do?

    These are theories that I entertained in my youth , as I have had many street fights. You can see it in an individual , tall muscular whatever whether they have the heart to fight. My brother was small but a lot of guys would not square up with him as his hunger for violence was insatiable. But I am talking days of hanging in the street and then in bars. l'd have to say 80 % of those fights would have been avoided by not going to bars and hanging in the street. Fast forward 10 years when I started training and learning how to really fight . Calm relaxed without anger I have beaten guys far superior to me physically by using technique. I've watched small small thai boxers man handle much bigger guys while smiling. My coach would make tbe biggest steroid guys in the gym tap out effortlessly. At the end of the day find a good gym and learn how to fight with technique. once you get good you will walk away from street fights knowing you have nothing to prove. And if you can't walk away chances are you are going to beat the unskilled fighter

    Does this apply to MMA?
    Royce Gracie went 11-0 in the first 3 UFCs and defeated all his opponents who all weighed more than him.

      TheUmmahFightCamp Yeah but I'm in a paramedic/ fireman vs police boxing tournament called "Guns & Hoses" where i fight a cop every year (I'm a paramedic).
      Every year they get a bigger cop for me to beat up. I look forward to channeling my high propensity for violence this go round lol

    I'm also 5'7". Whenever I spar MMA, it's normally against bigger people. My speed and athleticism are my only hope. However, when I spar our 6'7" heavyweight, I generally have little success unless I get it to the ground.

    Brother Sayf. This is Mohammed from Dubai, I am an amateur boxer.
    Question, Don't u think that keeping violence in my head will kill my stamina out? And is there any conflicts between violence and relaxation in the fight?

    Peace Ummah Fight Camp. Bro Sayf great vid once again, its good to see you get back to business. Tyson, Pacquaio, Pryor are great fighters. Another fighter that comes to mind who I feel fits the bill is Dwight Muhammad Qawi.

    I concur, you have to think outside of the box when fighting someone who is more physically superior to you not only in length but in density, muscle bound. In other words you have to be unconventional and fight dirty to win. One of the realizations you notice also in a street fight is that when you make contact with bone and sinew is that yes it hurts! Not only does it hurt but when you punch someone on the face who is in the same height as you or you may land a punch on someone taller than you on the face or skull is that it hurts like hell to not only the receiver but the giver. You can fracture your knuckle or break your hand or wrist simply by landing a flush and powerful shot to the head of your opponent, fact! I am 5"9, and I know that the shorter person going up against a bigger person will land a more solid and safer shot to the body before landing that knockout blow to the head. It's simple physics, the amount of force delivered to an object is the same force diverted back to its deliverer. Case in point, palm strikes to the head are essential in a street fight in my opinion. But closed handed fists are deadly but costly in a real fight.

    • @TheUmmahFightCamp
      @TheUmmahFightCamp  10 років тому +9

      My problem with palm strikes is they cause "pressure" and not "pain" per se. I know a lot of "self-defense" gurus emphasize palm strikes, but I differ with them on that. The knuckles well aimed I prefer to the lips, nose, throat, temple.

    Use a blade or a strap. Seriously though, sometimes I like to imagine myself getting attacked by wild animals and fighting for my life, so that I can trigger my aggression at will at anytime. Sounds weird but it works. Especially when you go into a trance. It feels real.

    jack dempsey vs jess willard comes into mind when you talk about having more propensity for violence. Also Sayf what's your views on anger in fighting. I find it drains me a lot faster if I'm boxing angry, is there a way to somehow channel anger so its useful?

  • @DOOMZDAY34
    @DOOMZDAY34 10 років тому

    This brutha spoke the truth. I'm 6ft 5 and you never let some short person get on the inside. You have to be prepared to bring it to them no matter what. LEVEL OF VIOLENCE has to intensify times 10. Fight like your life depends on in, but at the same time remain focused. You get mad and start throwing wild punches, and you will end up getting BLASTED RIGHT IN YOUR FACE. Punch through them.

    i have a real dumb question!! How does one gain that love for violence I am 55 and don't forsee myself being in many fights. I don't like violence, but i Respect what Sayf Carman is saying about fighting bigger people. One gentleman stated that using techinque was a avenue to fighting somebody bigger. Anybody could give some good advice appreciate. Again i know this a dumb question, but i needed to ask thx

  • @CrowdPleeza
    @CrowdPleeza 7 років тому

    Well there can be various approaches to dealing with larger stronger opponents. Look how Royce Gracie defeated most of his opponents who were larger/stronger than him. BJJ has a different approach to dealing with stronger opponents than the striking styles. I like the idea of using the clinch to avoid hard strikes assuming you know how to apply submissions.

    • @TheUmmahFightCamp
      @TheUmmahFightCamp  7 років тому +5

      No matter what happens in the UFC we need to know that NO weapons, EYE attacks, Bites, or groin shots were allowed. MMA is close to street fighting, but it in not. Next, submissions should not be as much a focus as ballistic breaks of fingers, arms and so on.
