One trick pony. Was able to get by with that cannon. But these last fights since Fury..he just got gun shy. Its dangerous for him to keep boxing.
People be hating on wilder. It’s so crazy.
Fight was definitely tough to watch the entire time. I was hoping he’d win but it just looked like a matter of time the entire fight. Shame we never got to see him vs AJ but still, legendary power, lots of fun knockouts. Hope he finds peace in retirement
It was a tough watch I was hoping to see a career resurgence. What a career.
He was protected. Barely fought any mandatory thanks to the WBC and his resume is really bad. He's only starting to fight top guys recently and we are seeing the result.
Hrgovic was set to fight AJ for the vacant IBF if Usyk is stripped, so Dubois now has that spot I guess. Wilder needs to retire. He brought a lot of excitement and entertainment to the HW division, but he never improved on major flaws to his game and its caught up with him. That right hand can only take you so far.
Also its a myth that Wilder was this wild puncher throwing haymakers everywhere. He only does that when he has his opponent hurt. Look at his fight with Gerald Washington, a fight where imo he was losing because of inactivity. How about Ortiz, both fights but especially the 2nd one. Barely threw any punches, but people forget that because of the KO. You have to go back maybe 10 years when he was fighting much weaker opposition if you want to see him open up a bit.
The point is he did it at all. That's not how a boxer fights
That's how a girl fights. What makes it even worse is that supposedly he had metal put in his arm foe surgery at that time and he was purposely trying to hit people with his forearm instead of the gloves.
Wilder just got exposed when he stepped up in competition. He ducked all the top fighters because he knew he'd have been exposed earlier and AJ would have brutally knocked him out
I dont think Wilder finished he just got caught first as this was a shootout of 2 big punchers and zhang had 70lbs+ on him fought smart. I believe Wilder strategy was to be patient keep jab out to find the range and draw zhang in then land big on the counter and zhang knew this so kept a high guard . Maybe wilder should go down to bridgerweight this is more his natural weight class
He lost trust in his power and they tried to turn him into a boxer and his defense is poor already. His power was his defense. A lot of his punches didn’t even look right in the fight
Zhang vs Fury would be interesting
People pull their funeral outfit out the closet everytime Wilder lose 😂. I never saw boxing fans hate a knockout puncher like this.
his fights with fury and ortiz were staight up DRAMA
100% his third fight vs Fury is legit one of the best heavyweight fights of all time
Zhang won that vs Hrgovic.. the judges just favoured Hrgovic.
Hrgovic was beating DDD but the cut was too much
if he decides to continue in his career, which i know he said this was a make or break fight, i think he can fight a guy like Andy Ruiz. Would be an entertaining fight. Thats if Ruiz is serious about being in the mix. Or the other fighters mentioned.
I want to see ruiz vs zhang i hope this fight happens
Wilder needs to learn how to box plain and simple he has power we get it but by now his boxing should have improved but he still doesn't have that much skill. There has got to be a trainer a manager a coach and or agents that can get him with the right people to learn and of course he has to want to learn but he has become very mediocre very quickly in the Heavyweight division!
Wilder was born to be wild😉🤱🥊🎶🎙🎸.
But to be serious. I think the heavy weight division is kinda done now. At least for a while.
He skipped too many leg days
I feel so bad for Wilder. I know he worked hard but he just seems so gun shy
This apparently happens when you get knocked out for the first time. Look at Fury, after the Wilder fights. Doesn't seem to throw his right hand anymore. Same with Wilder
Aye he never Evolve or put a better team around him.
This is funny. All of these commercial boxing fans, trying to cope with the fact that Deontay Wilder is somehow over the hill. When the reality is he was never good to begin with.. He was a "C" great fighter at best. And did nothing but beat up on tin cans his whole career.
Ehhhh true for the most part…. Ortiz was up there tho
@@BoxingFanatico Sorry dude, Ortiz was nothing special. The WBC protected him from Klitschko and he never fought a soul with a smidgen of talent for most of his career.
@@oldmanyellsatcloud5372 he wasn’t elite but he was up there, had a win over Bryant Jennings, gold medalist… he was decent in my opinion
@@BoxingFanatico Agree to disagree when it comes to Ortiz. I just wanted to say your channel is not bad bro. I like what you do, keep up the good work. And I know you have some pull with the guys at Steel City. Try your best to get him to put Naoya Inoue and Salvador Sanchez in the game. Respect!
Can we get another fight night update video ?
Wilder is a huge let down smh never became a boxer!!! Just wanted to right hand his way to the top smh
