People who have experienced GOD'S miracles are different. We know it was Him. I talked to a friend who had been struggling with alcohol for years. I was talking to her about a huge miracle that saved my newborn babies' life. The voice I heard was either GOD Himself or possibly a Guardian Angel, but it's a voice I will never forget. She asked me, "Do you think He would talk to me. I told her yes. To just ask. The next day, she called all excited and told me she heard that voice I told her about. She said, "I prayed and said,'GOD, are you real? Can you hear me?' And a booming voice in my mind said 'yes I hear you'". She and her husband stopped drinking immediately, but sadly, she passed away about a month later from all the years of alcohol abuse. But she passed knowing GOD is real!!!
The thing is, miracles truly ARE the exception. They aren't given to everyone or even most people and I think that's the source of the biggest misunderstanding (and honestly bitterness) a lot of people experience. He only intervenes in the machine on rare, rare occasions. We all wish He'd intervene every time, but God has set the world to run AS IS for a reason. Death is part of that. Pain is part of that. But it's temporary price for the eternal joy & restoration promised. But most people only believe in the now. It's like telling a two year old that a round of shots is a temporary pain for a greater purpose. It just doesn't register. Miracles happen. But they aren't normal.

He arose three days later defeating death and ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God.. Jesus preformed 14-15 miracles (they were called signs) in the three years or so of His ministry on earth. Well, here is my testimony: in a work accident, I lost a hand, my prayers and my boundless faith in the Lord got the miracle I was praying for : my hand regrew and I have two once again. What ? You don't believe ? Why is your faith so limited? You need to read a lot more books like this, shame.

Umm you are referring to a letter the apostle Paul wrote correct. That’s a common greeting or closing used then. It wasn’t a directive. He was basically saying be blessed, have a happy life etc
Barbara Snyder's case is from 1988, correct? Who are the physicians Strobel mentions. He says one of them was an "atheist" who was suddenly convinced this was a miracle. So here are my big questions: 1 - What year was Barbara Snyder diagnosed with MS? 2 - Who diagnosed her with MS? 3 - What physicians at the Mayo Clinic treated her? 4 - Who is the atheist physician who believed this was a miracle? According to Strobel this miracle is well-documented but I want to see the documentation. Thanks.
@@slamrn9689 I've narrowed it down since then and read up. Barbara was born in 1950 and at 15 started to have problems. She was then diagnosed in 1970. In 1981 she recovered. In 1983 they wrote about her. I am continuing to research this to find out as much as I can. It seems very much to me that she was misdiagnosed. She would've been diagnosed in 1970 and right the reports are 1 in 5 look to be misdiagnosed. _"Almost one in five multiple sclerosis patients may be misdiagnosed with the autoimmune disease"_ So even by todays rates she would have a 20% chance of misdiagnosis. There are other disorders which can clear up. I want to be like Strobel and investigate these things. Who diagnosed her in 1970?
Brian Stevens my question to you would be, if there is such a high chance that the disease could be misdiagnosed(which I’m not doubting), why would the doctors that wrote books about it not know about the statistic and how it is easy to misdiagnose? Not only that but there is no doubt that she was in some sort of critical or highly non functioning condition and randomly just completely healed at some random time?

Its strange that he doesn't talk about miracles that the Catholic church has studied and affirmed. Every Saint has to have 2 miracles that have been investigated. I wonder if he would agree that the evidence is that healing miracles also happen when praying to a Saint. Also you have non healing miracles in a Catholic context that have been investigated. You have the Tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Dancing of the sun at Fatima, the Shroud of Turin, the miracle of the Holy Fire, and the miracles during the lifetime of Padre Pio.
Slight disagreement with the definition of miracles, as it mentions only God. Soberingly, the devil also can also do lying signs and wonders (e.g. Jannes and Jambres Vs Moses). Not as great as God's greatest ones!
Our faith rests on the specific promise of God in a specific instance. The woman heard God's voice saying get up. Her faith connected to God's command at that moment. If we try to have "faith" when God has not spoken it is presumption - or a kind of magic. Jesus was not healed on the cross. Paul was not healed of his thorn in the flesh. Jesus passed the man crippled at the entrance to the temple and later that man was healed by God when Peter and John said to him to get up. It's God's command we have faith in not faith in our faith.

Umm you are referring to a letter the apostle Paul wrote correct. That’s a common greeting or closing used then. It wasn’t a directive. He was basically saying be blessed, have a happy life etc

Barbara Snyder's case is from 1988, correct? Who are the physicians Strobel mentions. He says one of them was an "atheist" who was suddenly convinced this was a miracle. So here are my big questions:
1 - What year was Barbara Snyder diagnosed with MS?
2 - Who diagnosed her with MS?
3 - What physicians at the Mayo Clinic treated her?
4 - Who is the atheist physician who believed this was a miracle?

@@slamrn9689 I've narrowed it down since then and read up. Barbara was born in 1950 and at 15 started to have problems. She was then diagnosed in 1970. In 1981 she recovered. In 1983 they wrote about her. I am continuing to research this to find out as much as I can. It seems very much to me that she was misdiagnosed. She would've been diagnosed in 1970 and right the reports are 1 in 5 look to be misdiagnosed.

So even by todays rates she would have a 20% chance of misdiagnosis. There are other disorders which can clear up. I want to be like Strobel and investigate these things. Who diagnosed her in 1970?

Not only that but there is no doubt that she was in some sort of critical or highly non functioning condition and randomly just completely healed at some random time?

I wonder if he would agree that the evidence is that healing miracles also happen when praying to a Saint. Also you have non healing miracles in a Catholic context that have been investigated. You have the Tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Dancing of the sun at Fatima, the Shroud of Turin, the miracle of the Holy Fire, and the miracles during the lifetime of Padre Pio.

Our faith rests on the specific promise of God in a specific instance. The woman heard God's voice saying get up. Her faith connected to God's command at that moment. If we try to have "faith" when God has not spoken it is presumption - or a kind of magic. Jesus was not healed on the cross. Paul was not healed of his thorn in the flesh. Jesus passed the man crippled at the entrance to the temple and later that man was healed by God when Peter and John said to him to get up. It's God's command we have faith in not faith in our faith.

oh, how convenient it is to make stories. anyways, if we agree that miracle means God's intervention, Strobel failed to provide a sound argument depending his case for miracle. even if those stories he shared are true...even every time - 100% - if somebody prays for something, the thing he/she asks happen...then what? how can we say it is God, the devil, some pixie, or just some natural explanation that isn't discovered yet, or whoever/whatever is the cause of such? - It needs a separate evidence.
