I still don't get the utility of the system if it's not smart enough to provide the right energy to the house, like if i turn on my tv and my pc does it switch automatically to send energy to them from the battery? If my base power is 300W an the solar is producing 700W does it send automatically the 400W to the battery and if another loads comes up it adjust it to 500W to the house and the rest 200W to the battery?
if you have an Ecoflow battery and a powerstream you set a basic permanent current e.g. 80 Watts for small devices. This current will permanently feed by the solar panels or supported by the battery. If your solar pannels deliver more, the battery will be charged. If you have the plugs (sockets) the power will be dynamically delivered to the plugs to the maximal possible delivery. (600 Watts.) E.g. If you have a plug befor a washing maschine which takes 1500 Watts then 600 will be delivered from the Solars and the Battery the missing rest will come from your grid.

@@tdcattech Powerstream plus river is pants. It's sort of hacked together and little use IMHO. There is no integration with third party batteries at all.
I bought a UK powersteam when they were available and wanted another one. I recently bought another from Germany. It is a new 800w unit with the same serial number as the UK model. Only difference is the plug which I cut off and replaced with a UK plug. Price was 310euro plus £66 for VAT and customs charge. However, having two powerstreams on the same network is causing me some headaches (please firmware gods fix it). In that I cannot specify which smartplugs are assigned to individual powersteam units. All smartplugs show on both units. Disabling smartplugs for one powersteam in the app also disables the smartplug for the other powersteam even though both powersteams are shown separately in the app with different ID numbers. In fact changing any setting in one powersteam also changes the other. Anyone else using more than on powersteam at once?
I'll be honest, I didn't even know it would work at all in this configuration. I doubt it's designed to work this way. The smart plugs aren't allocated to a specific 'space' (and can't be at this time) so it would definitely need an update from EcoFlow I think.
I just received my second Powerstream yesterday so am having a play. How are you connecting your pair of PSs? I've found that it's possible to set a different base load for each PS but, like you say, each smartplug connects to both PSs and the energy supply is split 50/50 between them. Rather oddly, if one of the PSs is unplugged from the mains then the other one continues to only supply 50% of the smartplug's requested energy. I was hoping to create a second 'Space' and allocate a Powerstream to each one but I'm having no success with that so far. Maybe setting up a guest Wifi network might allow two 'Spaces' to be created?

Have you seen the Ecoflow Alternator Charger that is on sale (in the UK). It looks identical to the Powerstream, but is aimed at charging your batteries in a car/RV. Wondering if it is just a rebadged Powerstream that I could use as a Powerstream with the appropriate cables?
Can you use 2 powerstreams to double the output? If so , how? In connection to this I read an EcoFlow official’s reply to such a question stating that it is possible to assign smart plugs to either one or the other powerstreams but no info on how to do that. I appreciate any insights you might have
Hi, Great video. I had a question for automation. I wanted to know what is the feed in control? I have set it to IF battery above 90% ACTIVATE feeding control on my power stream. How is this different to ACTIVATE prioritise power supply on my power stream? I essentially want to know the difference between the two modes.
You would obviously gain something on a sunny day and the gain could be multiple kWh per day. The problem doing it this way is that power generation rarely matches demand so you’d have a nice sunny day and you’d be dumping loads back into the grid (unless your house has a high base load) or you just wouldn’t generate enough on a cloudy day. You need a battery to ride out those peaks and troughs (though one battery also doesn’t last long really). Also, the PowerStream won’t be accessible in the app outside of daylight as it will turn off.
After watching your last video I tried to order a powerstream. However they are no longer sold in the UK as regulations require an inverter to be hardwired. I was told this from Hampshire Generators and they are always really helpful. Can't really see any way around the problem. Thanks for your videos anyway.
Great video buddy, Ive just purchased this but received an email from ECOFLOW say it has to be wired into my consumer unit and not be plugged into a wall socket, can you shed and light on this please
My guess is they’ve realised that UK regs mean that, although it works, you can’t back feed a mains circuit through a socket in this way. It took them ages to address this officially. They just withdrew it from sale in the UK.
Thank you for this informative video. I have a PS and a DP. I would like to have dual input 1. from PS & 2. from the mains for a few hours mid day (as I have panels on the roof connected to the house). Would I just connect the PS to the DP and put the mains charger to the DP on a smart plug that turns on around mid day ?
Yes. Since this update, that’s exactly what you can do. 👍🏻 Why would you need mains in at midday if that’s when you have maximum solar generation? Surely the mains bit would be late night on a low tariff?
@@tdcattech Apologies I seems I have not explained my situation very well. The energy the roof solar panels generate go into the house and if I do not use it, the energy is wasted. I therefore wanted to charge the DP for a 4ish hours midday to use some of the energy that would otherwise be wasted. Today I just plugged the AC charger in and all worked (manually). As soon as my euro charger comes (I have a UK DP but I am in Europe) I will plug into a euro smart plug and automate. Thank you again for your clear video
Thank you for this video. Does lighting run off the powerstream given that wont have a smart plug attached? I.e. can I still draw from the battery if my appliance is wired into my ring main without a smart plug.
I don’t know how that works. Here’s what I do know. If I’m using 100W in the house and put in 100W from the PowerStream, my meter will show 0W usage. If I then turn on a 20W ‘main’ light and increase to 120W on the PowerStream I can bring my meter back to 0W. However, what I don’t know is whether this truly classed as zero usage. 🤷🏻♂️ Has anyone else tested this?
Hi, Enjoy you vids, well set out. I've noticed after a recent update under household power demand in Powerstream settings,so under the smart plug tab their is another tab smart meter mode in beta, any idea how this works
Can I get PowerStream plugged into the Delta Pro and the wall socket, while Delta Pro connected to the same wall socket gonna be bypassing the power? Use case - I have critical appliances, let's take the fridge as an example. I want to protect it from outages by connecting to the Delta Pro AC socket at the same time Delta Pro will have the PowerStream input and AC input from the grid so when power is out, I don't need to replug anything. Does it sound viable?
Hola, tengo una duda, se puede hacer la carga solar dual, por la entrada solar y con el Microinversor con 4 paneles de 100 cada uno y por separado por la entrada solar del delta 2 con otro panel de 100...
Well, seems I acquired a cheap deal on a refurbished delta max 2016wh (looks brand new) to connect the second powerstream to. I signed in using my second email address. I have a Deco TP Link mesh router set up on 2.4ghz for one and my sky router on the other. I signed each plug I wanted on each powerstream / delta max & Delta 2 max. Ie fridge freezer and a bunch of others on powerstream one, TV, lights and a bunch of others on the second powerstream. Balanced across the two routers. It peaked at 1041 Watts from the solar panels today using all solar inputs as mentioned in your video. 2 x 4 mc4 PV inputs one xt60 on delta max, 2 x xt60 on delta 2 max . A full 7 solar inputs working to their own individual panels, so I'm ultra happy. Think I'm finally going to be 🔆 zero leccy bill until October 🤞
You can connect 2 powerstreams to the same Delta 2 Max in parallel. Look up "Ecoflow PowerStream + Shelly 3EM" vid on youtube, it's in a different language, but you'll get the point.
Wondering if running 2 seperate powerstreams using one on 2.4 GHz and the other on 5 GHz separate frequencies would do anything to help run other smart plugs on the separate powerstream ? I know I can set the sky router to have 2 separate channels. May give it a go to see how the smart plugs on the separate unit behave. Networks not my strength but worth a try ? Has anyone had any success with ecoflow mesh ? Made no difference when I tried.
In the section for Solar power info it looks like you've got the "combined" bug with the update, your two solar feeds have been combined into PV2. Try pulling PV1 to see that the PV2 figure changes
Yes. I’ve already been in touch with EcoFlow around that one. I got a response just after filming this stating it will be fixed in the next update. To answer your question, the power does drop when removing PV1. I’m just curious to know if the power is being limited to the theoretical max of one input (500W)? Plug in devices are not legal in the UK. You need your eletrician to wire it in, and complete the part P paperwork. At that point Octopus are experimentally accepting some export tariffs.
Thanks for the video. I subscribed. Do you know if technically, one can use a PowerStream with a powerstation like a Delta 2 Max only, thus without solar panels?
what is average electricity cost per KWh in your country? (I mean price at your door - what U pay for electricity, transportation, taxes and whatever that adds costs)? thank you.
No, and you are not supposed to put two of them on the same phase of an electricity supply either. You can however now use the solar on the D2 max as well as the powerstream solar.
I wanted to automatically turn on the charging cable of a power bank with a smart plug, when there are more than 100W coming in. Unfortunately the automation just won’t work. Do you have an idea, why that might be the case?
That sounds like a perfectly reasonable scenario. No idea why it wouldn't work. Have you tried it with a more fixed condition to make sure the plug will otherwise turn on under x scenario. I'm not exactly how the 'solar power above' works. Above for a split second? Above for 1 minute? It's a little unclear.
Online auction site from Germany. With the 20% VAT that you'll have to pay when it comes through customs, it'll still only cost about 220 quid. They're the same model number as the ones that were sold in the UK except it'll come with a euro plug on the cable. I just use a travel adaptor with mine.
@@lbwatty That's them, they posted mine out straight away. Don't accidentally buy the 600W version that they also sell. I got a letter from Parcel Force about a week after I placed the order explaining that they were ready to deliver it and giving instructions on how to pay the customs fee online (20% plus a £12 Admin Fee). Item was new and in a sealed box.
so a HUGE problem with those is they don't give power to the grid in the house if you only want to use inverter + solar without battery just for a additional small solar savings to your house. For home office this ain't good cuz my AC and my PC can totally be covered by the 800W when maxed. Changes the whole math of the investment if I need a battery to do so + it only gives 600W to the battery anyways... kinda weird quirks ...
I am having an issue where the Powestream can see the smart plugs. I can turn them on and off. It even shows the power consumption. Powerstream does not however increase the power when the smart plugs are on. Anyone have a solution? All firmware updated to the lastest.
Do you definitely have them enabled under the ‘Household Power Demand’ section? I’ll assume you do and also add that this happened to me randomly last week. I power cycled the PowerStream (battery and solar out) and all was well.
Yes they are enabled under Household energy consumption. I have cycled the equipment off and on again and even used the 'unbind' option and then reconnected the devices to the app.
Hi, I had the same problem with smart plugs. Powerstream/smartplug combination is very sensitive to WIFI MESH architecture. I had to buy additional wifi router and create simple 2.4 GHz wifi network for Ecoflow. It solved this problem for me.
@@KelvinNV It's made specifically for German market where people have 2-way electricity meters and get paid for the excess they return into the grid. If you have a regular 1-way meter, your house uses 200W, but your solar produces 600W, you'll return 400W into the grid for you neighbour to use, and will pay for it yourself because your meter will count it anyway xD
Thanks for sharing the updates that I did not know about....you would think Ecoflow would make a big deal about this with their firmware updates and upskilling their users
Great Video. I am keen to buy a Powerstream, but as you know, they are off-sale. However, I have learned of a similar system - the Marstek B2500. That is available in the UK. Do you think there is any chance the powerstream will come back to the UK in the near future or is it a dead duck? Thanks
I would agree but it’s not a topic I cover because it all seems to be hearsay and rumour and I do not want to get into regulations for one country on a worldwide video. I hope EcoFlow sort this out and bring it back to the UK.
But the Powerstream is NOT approved for use in the UK... EcoFlow told me this last week, and this is why they do not sell it on their website. So why do you not mention this? Also firmware updates are academic to UK customers who cannot buy or use this unapproved product.
This is just an information video. It’s got nothing specifically to do with the UK. As for not mentioning the approval issues, it’s not a topic I’m addressing as it’s around regulations. That is quite intentional.
Thanks for your prompt reply. I think that the abscence regulatory compliance for a power device that you are an advocate of, is a very important piece of information. As we disagree, I will be unsubscribing.
The app is terrible impossible to save energy as much as possible. If my battery is full the solar panel only sends the energy set from the app and not the full power of the solar panel …. Useless

I think I need to stop, but no stopping the addiction 😂
@@chrisnortheast888 Just create 2 accounts to each powerstream I have.
Great video. Do you know if the Delta 2 (not Max) power station can support a solar panel input while connected to the PowerStream?
Current firmware - yes. It's a bit more limited what it can do but it works. Got another 400 on mine now
Have you seen the Ecoflow Alternator Charger that is on sale (in the UK). It looks identical to the Powerstream, but is aimed at charging your batteries in a car/RV. Wondering if it is just a rebadged Powerstream that I could use as a Powerstream with the appropriate cables?
Does it back feed my whole ring main even if plugs on different breakers
Can you use 2 powerstreams to double the output? If so , how? In connection to this I read an EcoFlow official’s reply to such a question stating that it is possible to assign smart plugs to either one or the other powerstreams but no info on how to do that. I appreciate any insights you might have
Hi,
Great video. I had a question for automation.
I wanted to know what is the feed in control?
I have set it to IF battery above 90% ACTIVATE feeding control on my power stream.
How is this different to ACTIVATE prioritise power supply on my power stream?
I essentially want to know the difference between the two modes.
great video can you now buy the Powerstream in the UK?
So.. I thought that feeding back into the grid via a 13 amp socket isn't allowed in the UK? Has this changed now ?
thanks for the informative video what do ypu think the gain will be if using PV panels-powerstream-smartplugs without a power station, thanks
Can you use the power stream in the DPU?
Is the 600w limit from the power stream into the battery documented anywhere ?
Can you make a review how PowerStream works with smart energy meters like Shelly EM? Smart plugs don't really makes any sense to me.
After watching your last video I tried to order a powerstream. However they are no longer sold in the UK as regulations require an inverter to be hardwired. I was told this from Hampshire Generators and they are always really helpful. Can't really see any way around the problem. Thanks for your videos anyway.
Purchase from abroad and had it delivered to the UK (via third party if needed) ?
I've just ordered one on Amazon 👍
Great video buddy, Ive just purchased this but received an email from ECOFLOW say it has to be wired into my consumer unit and not be plugged into a wall socket, can you shed and light on this please
My guess is they’ve realised that UK regs mean that, although it works, you can’t back feed a mains circuit through a socket in this way. It took them ages to address this officially. They just withdrew it from sale in the UK.
@@tdcattech Ive just puchased it with 2 x 400w panels for £468 via UK Amazon
Very good price!
Can we have 2 PS using 4 balcony panels in home, each PS has a DP2 unit attached?
Hi,
Enjoy you vids,well set out.
We haven’t really had enough sun to tell 😂
@@tdcattech yep, looking for same, have same problem with power source... on the bright side (see what I did there) the sun is climbing higher every week 😁
That’s good news for everything and everyone IMHO. November, December and January are really dismal months ☹️
Looks like the latest update has fixed the ‘combined’ problem. Both PV inputs are showing independently now. 👍🏻
I got my Export MPAN from UK power networks DNO G98 Commissioned. but I am having trouble with Octopus keep asking for a MCS Microgeneration Certificate before they allow or pay my an export tariff. Why oh why do you need MCS for plug in devices. Wish octopus would come on side with DIY market.
(I mean price at your door - what U pay for electricity, transportation, taxes and whatever that adds costs)? thank you.
Just wondering if it's possible to connect two EcoFlow Powerstream units to a single Delta 2 Max unit? Thanks!
No, and you are not supposed to put two of them on the same phase of an electricity supply either. You can however now use the solar on the D2 max as well as the powerstream solar.
@@etchedpixels Thank you for the reply.
It's a little unclear.
any idea of the best place to buy these from? it is out of stock on the site and i am reading it may have been discontinued in the UK.
Online auction site from Germany. With the 20% VAT that you'll have to pay when it comes through customs, it'll still only cost about 220 quid. They're the same model number as the ones that were sold in the UK except it'll come with a euro plug on the cable. I just use a travel adaptor with mine.
@@chrisnortheast888 cheers sir which site?
@@chrisnortheast888 was it studio-ausruestung by any chance on ebay?
I have no wifi, does it all work with just bluetooth?
Apologies, I responded thinking the comment was on a different video. This needs Wi-Fi as far as I know.
Wish they had this for the US looks like a fun toy
I don't know why US don't have PowerStream Microinverter, and ecoflow smart plug. So sad
When will it hit the us
Thanks for sharing the updates that I did not know about....you would think Ecoflow would make a big deal about this with their firmware updates and upskilling their users
Great Video. I am keen to buy a Powerstream, but as you know, they are off-sale. However, I have learned of a similar system - the Marstek B2500. That is available in the UK. Have you seen that system? There is one in depth video on YT worth watching. I am reluctant to plump for the Marstek as I already have Ecoflow batteries. Do you think there is any chance the powerstream will come back to the UK in the near future or is it a dead duck? Thanks
They are still available on the Europe store, so chances are its going to come back.
The EU version should electrically be the same as the UK version.
I would agree but it’s not a topic I cover because it all seems to be hearsay and rumour and I do not want to get into regulations for one country on a worldwide video. I hope EcoFlow sort this out and bring it back to the UK.
You can buy the EU version and get a EU to UK fused plug
A shame we can not use the tapo smart plugs we have 7 of them
Oh yes. That would be nice. It's unlikely to ever happen when EcoFlow can lock you in and charge you 6 times the price of a regular smart plug. 🔌
@@tdcattech Yep we love the Smart plugs & smart lights going to buy more
But the Powerstream is NOT approved for use in the UK...
Sounds fair. 👍🏻
Seems to have ENA approval now for the 800watt but nothing from Ecoflow yet from what that involves or was changed to be granted approval
Complete sap @@Chris-gy9pk
Realising when you have just reached 14 ecoflow smartplugs over 2 powerstreams running 🤷
Yeah all ‘smart’ products need local server support via WiFi instead of needing a central server.
But still no p1-plug…..
The app is terrible impossible to save energy as much as possible. If my battery is full the solar panel only sends the energy set from the app and not the full power of the solar panel …. Useless
Make sure you've got feed-in control disabled under household power demand. With that off mine certainly does
