  • Hello everyone and welcome back to The Beatles Forever. Today we are going to learn about the Beatles through the book by Peter Asher entitled The Beatles From A-Zed. He came up with memories of the Beatles and music in general . A viewer suggested it , and it sounded like a good idea.
Let us see what we can find out.

I grew up during all this creativity. Constantly hearing new releases. Where is today’s talent? Is anyone looking for it?

Yea, there is talent but it's being used on all these terrible, disposable pop and hip hop songs 😢

No, nobody is looking for it.
Nobody is looking for Rock music anymore.
It's all about pop, hip hop & some country,
New Music has no meaning anymore , in my opinion .

Paul messed up messing around on Jane Asher . She's still gorgeous.

It's hilarious she thought he should be faithful. He was a Beatle. He had too much temptation.
Paul did the right thing marrying Linda, she wasn't as high maintenance as Jane Asher

Paul's father, James, knew the Asher's. For Paul to leave Liverpool to London, Paul's father insisted Paul stay with the Asher's. That's how Paul and Jane became an item. Boy was he teased. George, younger, was allowed his own flat.

How would Jim McCartney, cotton salesman from Liverpool, know the upper middle class doctor/ researcher and Symphony musician, know each other? Paul met Jane at a BBC broadcast, dated her for a few months, & then missed a train to Liverpool The Ashers invited him to spend the night which developed in a 2 year stay w/ the Ashers until Paul bought his Cavendish St home.

Re Drive My Car, "George Harrison provided the great guitar licks" This could be misleading. All the lead guitar (mainly slide) was played by Paul. George's contribution is the guitar part that's doubled by the bass line all the way through.

A fun fact is, that when George Martin were studying music to become a professional oboe player, he took his lessons at the same Asher apartment that Paul later livet in. And yes, George's teacher was Peter Ashers mother.

You have come upon the mcmac Asher connection. Paul's father, James, was not keen on the move to London Brian needed. To assure Paul's father, George Martin sponsored the Asher's as a temporary home for Paul. Without this I don't know if Paul's dad would have been good. He never trusted that Lennon lad. Polite.

Most people don't realize George was only 17 when they were in Hamburg. They played dive bars. 17 in a dive bar playing until 4:00AM. imagine what he saw, experienced. Like Warhol in fall of 1966 in NY. NOT George someone else. George stayed in San Francisco after Candlestick.

If George was not the best singer In the world, then tell me why he did so many lead vocal's on the Decca audition recordings.I've read that Brian Epstein put together the song selection for that audition.Thing's worked out for them In the end,but that was one time they all should have put their foot down and they should have put their play list together.🖤

Sheik of Araby and Besame Mucho were very funny, but a couple of Lennon-McCartney originals in their place might've landed them the contract. As it is, they were much better off with EMI. They might not have had such growth as they had if they were stuck at Decca.
