You absolutely need commentaries on these sacred texts from realised masters. You are not as accomplished Yogi as Arjuna that you are going to understand what exactly Shri Krishna is talking about. Shri Krishna himself said that it won't be possible to repeat the Gita because it's not possible for him to reach that state of consciousness so easily (Arjuna told him he had forgotten the Gita and requested him to repeat it).
One thing i don't understand why people don't go to the original source. You are just using other works for your understanding. Why don't you learn Sanskrit and try to improvise. That way you will not be stuck in the world of commentary
Who are you to judge whether a person is 'accomplished' or not? Why can't we simply learn Sanskrit and read the original text? Afterwards, we can discuss and study the text with others, increasing our own understanding and knowledge. Why stop our own efforts in the name of 'not accomplished enough'? Isn't that divinity in all of us? Can't we rely on it? Really?!
@@kronos456titan The commentaries are on the orginal source, the sants aren't pulling verses out of of their rears. As far as improvisation goes, sure go ahead if you have reached the state of nirvikalpa samadhi. Until then you will need help from your sampradaya/darshan to understand it better.

@ahp-6785 At 40:00, yes it is free will world. let me explain you why. whenever you do any Karma you get KarmaFal. But that karmafal is not delivered instantaneously. It is delivered over a long period of time by means of the uncertainty factor or by modifying the circumstances you are have been put in. So the uncertainty factor is a complex function of ALL your past Karma. In Geeta Krishna says that he does not interfere with either Karma or their outcomes. Why? Because the outcomes are decided by mixture of your present Karma and all past Karma. So overall... you are the one who is controlling all five factors including the 5th uncertainty factor. Since there is no 100% destiny as such..though in some situations it might be possible that your past Karma has already determined the outcomes for you. Hence it is a free will world.

I find using set theory as a convenient tool. You could call it the limited infinite set as a set of all probabilities bounded by limitations. Like we can move our Hands to infinite positions within a space but nothing beyond. 43:19

Maam a genuine doubt , in the mahabharata everyone shuns the people who were present in the sabha for not stopping draupadi's vastra haran but why did the pandavas remain silent . A wife is not an object , why did the great arjuna or the great yudhisthir not stop them ?
Again an illogical generalisation without even reading the Geeta by various Swamis of Ramkrishna Mission. It is true that they follow many things of Dashnami Sampraday but all of their commentaries on Gita are not like that. The one Kushal is mentioning has more emphasis on Karma. Many of the commentaries of RK Mission has emphasis on Karma. Also you will find commentary like "Universal Message of Gita" 3 volumes by Swami Ranganathananda has emphasis on Karma and Jnana. Gudarth Deepika of Madhusudan Saraswati translated into english by Swami Gambhirananda has combination of Jnana and Bhakti becoz Madhusudan Saraswati was a great bhakta of Krishna too though a non-dualist. Currently Swami Medhananda is taking classes on Gita with Bhagwat Gita by Shri Aurobindo as a central text.

RK mission commentaries or all non dualist commentaries are called based on Dnyan yog and not Karma yoga.
