Larry Schroeder Wrong. Charlie and Shirley Watts were together before he joined the Stones. He was doing mostly jazz gigs then, not exactly rolling in money. She had her own career interests as well. Patti Hansen was a top level model making top money before she met Keith Richards who had gotten off the seriously killer dope by 1980. Paulina Porizkova was also a super model when she met Ric Ocasic. They didn't rush into marriage, nor were she or Patti Hansen heavy dopers during their own careers. Both continued modeling after having children then toned it down some in favor of raising their families. Sharon Osbourne was the daughter of Ozzie's manager. She worked in his business. Her growing relationship Ozzie caused a rift between them. She was kind of a wild one in her own right, anyway, but she knew the business. Their marriage caused a long estrangement with her father while she became Ozzie's manager and mother to their children. John Paul Jones was a well respected session player, neither rich nor famous, when he and Maureen married two years before he joined Led Zeppelin. Barbara Bach had been a model/actress long before she married Ringo Starr. Patti Scialfa was a member of the E Street Band some years before working together evolved into love. She didn't need Bruce Springsteen's money. Pat Benatar fell in love with her guitarist replacement at his audition, she's told that story many times. He's still her guitarist and husband and father of their now adult children. Love does that. Gabi Meine and his wife weren't in the same band, they just belong together. When you look at the countless barely weeks long marriages, multi-marriages, affairs, one night stands, violence on both sides, big alimony, etc. across show biz, it's pretty wretched to see. My point here is that at least none of the above women I've mentioned needed their husbands for money, fame or even a step up in their own careers. The men didn't need surgically distorted sex pot bodies on their arm or recorded sex games on social media to prove how mega stud they think they are. The people I named are real, and private, the same as anyone else; for better and worse alike, in sickness and health. They married because they loved each other. The proof is that they still do. If anyone has a problem accepting that reality, perhaps the source lies in envy.

Pat Benatar may be one of the few female rock stars with very long lasting marriages. Not in the "rock" realm per se, but Dolly Parton deserves a mention --she has been married to her husband since 1966.
It probably helps that her husband/ guitarist Neil Giraldo has become known in his own right because of his playing, writing and producing on her and other artists iconic songs. He has won 5 Grammy's and been nominated for 5 more. Because of his own status as a musician and being so important to her career he has been co-sharing the billing of their concerts. They perform as true equals, not as Pat Benatar and her husband.
The Rush guys know how to do it... Geddy Lee + Nancy Young: 1976 Alex Lifeson + Charlene Lifeson: 1975 Neil Peart would probably still be married (common law) to his 1st wife, Jacqueline Taylor, if she had not lost her life to cancer in 1998. If you take a look at the celebrities who have had long careers in the music industry you will see that one thing they have in common is a commitment to a core set of values.
