I'm really proud of you (I'm sure that means a lot. lol) And thank god not every video will have the AG1 ad pitch, it's so annoying. I'm subscribed to a couple channels that continuously plug them. Maybe you should create your own ad plug for, oh let's see...Oranges? Bananas? Blueberries? Grass fed beef? Fish?

@@221b-l3ttoo much protien is bad for you, which excessive protein is stored as fat (or burned as energy). Carbs are a key macro needed to function properly. Carbs=energy. Low carb diets are unhealthy and are a fad (unless you are under a medical diet). You stated you need meat or you'll pass out, it sounds like you need carbs in your diet. Also 1200cal diets are very unhealthy, which fast weight loss can cause health issues. You should talk to a nutritionist.

Those damn trimmers are so overpriced and pretend like "skin save technology" isn't in every damn razor that costs more than 20 bucks. And of course special creams and ointments because "apply off brand lotion and perfume" is not exactly profitable. So we get fancy tiny little bottles of overpriced goop that could easily be replaced by a 3 dollar 2 L bottle of generic goop.

First time I hear someone turning off sonar equipment to avoid disturbing the orcas. I’ve been thinking that could be what they’re protesting against.
There should be some sort comprehensive questionnaire including everything boaters were doing when they got attacked by orcas: sailing, motoring, equipment on, fishing… i don’t know, maybe find a common denominator. Could be why they never bugged you!

Sam, I always tune in for the "what could possibly go wrong" moments, I love the "perceived" haphazard way you sail around the place, in and out of danger, compared to some of the other "planned and risk averse" sailing channels . What I've come to realise, is that you're an extremely accomplished sailor, and this is well highlighted by your night sail, non use of sonar/depth instruments to lessen the chance of Orca chomping down on Pickles...and the ease of your sail measuring and description of where you'll ask for custom reefs, and why. It makes perfect sense, for those that "know their boat" and its limitations. These gems are why I keep coming back... fair winds my virtual friend and enjoy the Med.

They’re asking everyone going through the Orca’s to contact them and they’re trying to document who it’s happening to & why. I think it’s called the Cruisers Association. They said the ones with black gel coat were hit more.. going into reverse doesn’t help, can endanger them & can possibly get you in trouble. However, what has worked was throwing a bucket full of Sand between the Orca & the rudder. It does something to their “Sonar” and they can’t see it is the idea. They advised turning off your sonar equipment too. I’m glad you made it, although I know you wanted to see them….

    Sam,
    The sonar ping.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you might be on to something here. I expect these whales are equally intelligent as other members of their species. Is this a true predator/prey situation or an aggressive play behavior? From what I understand, the whales seem to eventually become bored and leave the scene of the crime.
This leads me to believe that it may be an aggressive play scenario. A learned behavior amongst a population perhaps ? This localized killer whale population involved in the behavior does not seem to gain a food reward, leaving the game factor as the potential reward.

Does anyone know where Sam got those mirrors in his cockpit? The ones he clamps to the solar arch?

12:39 No doubt AG offered you a lot of money for a sponsorship! And when you laugh and look at the horizon it's clear; you are a free man in every sense of the word.

Sam, I learn so much from your sailing channel. I really appreciate your explanations of what your doing when you are at sea really helps. I hope to buy a boat within the next year, maybe I could hire you to be my instructor in the winter months if come back to the USA. Be safe I don't want to see your boat damaged.

How refreshing to hear your comments about Athletics Green. I had a brief exchange on UA-cam with Brian Trautman (Delos) pointing out that the diet they have lived on whilst sailing all over the world lacks nothing and doesn’t need supplementing but he wasn’t having it. In my opinion when he does his heavily scripted piece about AG he looks and sounds a bit sheepish. It’s a shame because otherwise he seems such a sound bloke.

Yeah... they're all trying to make a living. Initially Delos wasn't selling out to anyone, but if the money is there and you have a family and expenses are mounting... where do your thoughts go?
I expressed concerns with those fake Japanese knives that they and others promoted. I also called out the "Scottish Titles" BS that other channels have promoted. (not sailing channels). Does everyone have the luxury of not accepting money "on principle"? Nope. Are you a regular patron of any channel? Do you watch every second of each video? Do you give the vids a "like"?
No one is "rich". Some few are making a living... to bring you a bit of entertainment. Brian Trautman included.

Brian needs every $$ from companies he can pander up. Delos is breaking down and needs repairs daily , lol 😂

Honestly if someone is in a financial tough spot it's fine. You don't have to buy the product, can skip the ad etc.. only people with money have the luxury to refuse it. Most do not. I have worked manual labour and crap jobs, tips taken away etc... if someone tells me speak nicely about, let's use the worst example, Established Titles and you get 20 grand which is more than I make in a year, then yes, I'm sorry. I would.
A well established channel that is doing well financially with views alone and regular sponsorships and patreon doing sketchy sponsorships on top of that just for money that's not needed at all then yes I think we can judge more harshly.
I would take the money as long as I am broke af. I think you should show some compassion for those who are in the position of: beggars can't be choosers. You take what you get.

@@221b-l3t Well Neither Delos or Sam are broke and do not need to peddle any powders on YT
And it's not that much of a profit anyways , they wanna send you free product and pay you a couple hundred bucks if you do a segment on your upload. I have 2 channels and don't see YT ads anyways. I just frown at these products, Established Titles is a bit different, its a Novelty Gift type item , Ozlo the dog from Atticus just got his recently. It's a bit different than trying to get ppl to ingest green miracle powder
keep the comments coming though , it boosts Sam algorithms and he'll make more revenue. Because Sam is awesome and everyone loves him !

You mentioned sail drives, plural. I have not heard of any of the whales "interacting" with catamarans. I am curious if they are attacking boats with some unknown commonality or signature.
I have only heard of Monohulls getting hit.
