    Good call, Dean, with calling Phil Rudd their secret weapon. When he's behind the kit, it just sounds right. Guy is a machine, and a vital part of the AC/DC sound.
    Great interview! Thanks for sharing it!

    I love Wild Reputation. What a classic ACDC groove! Bluesy, but with an edge, and Cliff helping to create that wall of sound. Sad that he’s decided to stay home, but I respect all these guys have given. They started 4 years before I was born! They changed my life along with Van Halen. I quit piano and got a guitar.
    At this very moment I’m sitting staring at my Thunderstruck signature model Angus SG with the lightning bolts leaning against a Traynor amp(blue Marshall sounded EL34 amp) what a great guitar. Thank you for all this! Love these guys, and this was fantastic! Thank you Dean!!! ❤❤❤

    This is what AcDc's music is all about. I have always loved this band, not for their fast and brutal playing, but for their beautiful, refined sound. So what if Malcom wrote songs for 4 simple chords, Angus plays five notes in solos since it's all done from the heart, and besides, the rhythm section in ACDC was an unrivaled model of rock playing, simply a natural diamond of hard rock from Australia. My favorite is the album Flick of the switch. Happy next 100 years Angus , greetings from Orage NSW, Australia brother!!!!

    Terrific interview, lots of great info, love it when they both crack up laughing too. Great stories from their past. Really lovely down to earth men. I remember them, from when they were in Swanston street Melbourne Australia, before Brian joined them, they were on the back of the truck in February 1976. I was working in Bourke St Melbourne, and missed them 🥴, but saw it on tv here. I remember watching a vid of their 2nd drummer, an Italian pizza maker, Toni Currenti, who played with them for a short time, who turned them down twice to join full time, a really sweet man. I have never been into Heavy Rock, but they were different, they had something different about them.
    Gotta love AccaDacca.

    Since Mal has passed, Angus and Brian have felt more comfortable discussing their legacy, as it was always Mal's band and the band direction was always Mal's call. What an incredible band leader, with an unshakeable belief in what he thought AC/DC should stand for. Not a bad result as we say down here in Sydney, Australia. Dean, well done and give Bill a reminder to bring you with him for holidays whilst he does a few shows down under. We have more than enough to keep you all entertained. Stay well, thanks for your efforts, Cameron, Sydney, Australia.

      @@deandelrayfor some it was, but him trying to do Brian was so hard that I think I read he needed singing lessons. I’ve sang Bon, and have a high voice. Brian’s voice going back to 1970 with Geordie, and his range was almost uncontrollable. Axl has a huge range, and had it been early in his career…,maybe it would’ve been better. The other spot, was knowing something Brian confirmed…watching Axl hurt to watch.
      Bands do these things to keep days and such, but Bon and Brian are legends….and I’m not gonna say I was there to see Axl..,but the visuals was weird, but Angus sure showed his happiness and gratefulness to Axl. I just think it’s great to get such a great album from ACDC again. Yes Brian’s voice isn’t quite as good as it once was, but man..,his genuine humbleness as a human, and respectfulness to Bon before him to me shows why he could talk the lyrics and people would still love him.
      Glad you enjoyed the concert with Axl. I couldn’t.
      I’m a flap jaw tonight 😂❤ cheers, and thanks for the interview!

    • @beyondthehorizon75
      @beyondthehorizon75 3 місяці тому

      @@ACDC4LIFE welll...Mal and Angus did want to replace Brian in the late 80s due to his voice going downhill. Plus, the band had been struggling to get anywhere_close_ to the success of Back In Black, which was likely a contributing factor. Who knows, they may have wanted a singer who could write better lyrics, melodies; i.e., a songwriter like Bon who they knew they needed badly at that point. Angus even compared Axl to Bon during an interview - it's on here still; the one with Cliff, Angus and Axl sitting together.
      I forget the singer's name, but he was approached by the Youngs (probably through management) but he turned down the offer because he wanted to stay with his own band.
      It was weird timing as I thought 'Blow Up Your Video' was an awesome album. Unique, funky, they were experimenting with their sound for the first time, funny enough, since the great (possibly greatest by them (or _anyone)_ ) 'Powerage' LP 10 years earlier. Even bringing back brother George and Harry Vanda to produce.
      But having only 2 minor hits wasn't enough for them at that point. They hadn't had an all killer no filler album in years at that point. They were looking for someone to blame and Brian, with his voice being shot at that point, was an easy target.
      Wish I could remember that singer's name that they reached out to...
