My favorite RAZBAM'S module and I have also Harrier and Mirage. Just small hint - it should be probably a Soviet Union flag in the intro, not Russian Federation since MiG-19 has been used by the Soviet military, not Russian.

Also remember: You can 'test drive' modules now. So try it out, see if you like it. If not, no money out of your pocket, and you can try it again in six months to see if it's improved.

@@jisellan Mig-19S couldn't mount missiles like Mig-19P, it was more maneuvrable because it didn't have the radar, so it was lighter, except for the tail section and the 30mm it is a downgrade in general.
@@Maverick966 for an AC that relys heavily on guns, has a low ammo count and excels at turning (gun) fights against its typical advisorys a 3rd gun (and more ammo) is a great addition. Especially combined with a lighter weight. Losing a rather useless radar is a bargain

It would be better if Razbam recreate cockpit textures, cause todays look like plane was picked up from long time being under water with much corosion dents - black points. Previous one , that was removed, looked better & more organically even if it also have some minor bugs
Can someone tell me what this MiG-19 fly against in DCS World? I mean as far as I know, Razbam did not bother to include any of its rivals, contemporaries in the game as AI aircraft. No AI F-100, F-8, F-11 AI aircraft is in the game. So if I buy this module, what do I fight against?
The flag is Russian because this was filmed in DCS: Syria, which is based on Syria in more or less present-day (to be fair, I think its based on ~2015 as I recall reading that somewhere). There's no Soviet Russia in 2021 (or 2015). There's no way to change them, as they're part of the map itself.

It's a nice module BUT PLEASE ADD MORE SOUND EFFECTS. The wheel brakes have no sound, for example. The sound effects are either lacking or quite poor, for a DCS module. I own it. I have shot down Hinds in PvP in it. Very fun plane. I have other Razbam modules too including the Mirage-2000C. Now, the Mirage is properly modeled. Just perfect to me.
The biggest downside of the MiG-19 is actually not its own fault - there's just so few contemporary aircraft (1.. The F-5..?) to fight against, and very few era accurate ground targets to engage.
Its a name assigned by NATO to identify it. They name all opposition fighters with a name beginning with "F" and I think all the cool names were taken.
Because you can't change the flags as they're part of the map itself. That's Khmeimim in DCS:Syria, which is designed around more or less present day Syria and surrounds. There's no USSR in 2021.
It is "technically" possible but it isn't really going to work well. I know that some will say "I can make do with it!" but they are not telling you how much they can't do. If you want to get into DCS, you will AT LEAST want a basic, entry level joystick.
Im sorry but the cockpit still looks pretty poor for 2021. Its not good even for 2015. Its time to realize throwing dirt and rust randon overlays over textures is not working anymore. This game aint Arma 2, its DCS we talk about, you have to raise your bar to make people take you seriously in this sim

The term "nerf" comes from a brand of toys made out of foam. The idea was that young children could use the toys and not hurt themselves. Now the term refers to something being weakened or made ineffective.
It's not underpowered, it's as it should have been. This isn't Shit Thunder, you're playing the wrong game if you thing performance is adjusted based on balance in DCS.
Your first mistake was thinking about it in terms of MMO-style concepts. DCS, first and foremost, aims to *realistically* depict the aircraft modules they're simulating. What you perceive as a 'nerf' is not done as a form of balance-tweaking, it was done to better reflect the aircraft's realistic performance parameters. Yes, they have added some weapons here and there for 'gameplay' reasons but adding a missile/bomb it might have used one day, maybe, is vastly different to accidentally making the aircraft faster or more efficient than it was supposed to be. You have to adapt to changing circumstances and operate within the limitations of the machine you're in.
In a world where most Western companies are supporting Ukraine and are boycotting Russian market I find it strange that simmers are so docile and are completely following the "no politics allowed" rules, even when outside the strongly regulated russian sites. Will Eagle Dynamics disclose the nature of their partnership with Russian studio and other Russian partners, and their connection with Russian military? What is the Eagle Dynamics involvement with The Battle Simulator, a pro military simulator that armies use, notably Russian military? Google "The Battle Simulator by The Fighter Collection". There is no DCS without Russian studio, and by purchasing DCS modules you are supporting a Russian company with strong ties to Russian military. This isn't some fucking McDonald's in Moscow, but even they closed down!

I'm disappointed they didn't include the sound of the NR-30s firing. Easily one of the best sounds in DCS.
