- How to price the inventory in your Boutique. This is a common Boutique Business Question and although there is no right answer I try to give you insight in this video. IU sort of messed up my math at some point so below is a markup up calculator. In short, don't sell yourself short by only pricing your products at double, give yourself some wiggle room for growth.

This is sooooooo TRUE! I love how you said "price what you're worth" and how you used Nasty Gal as an example! Girl, you're so right all their cheap ass clothes are from the L.A. district, and they cost $100 for a white tee they bought for $2 I am sure! Ha! and definitely true about living in L.A. compared to someone else who does not and pays for the huge shipping fees (me) .. that is why I am not as cheap as other boutiques because I pay $100's in shipping! Great informative video!

@@JanisMollineau Hey, she recently did a new video about pricing that is also helpful. Pricing product for me was hard at first, because it takes time for people to care and it makes you feel like you have ugly clothes. lol The truth is your new and people don't know if they can trust you yet. Its easy to just lower the price to get a sale, it takes time to develop a relationship with your customers. Highly recommend to stick to the proper price point and slowly but surely your group will find you. It took a a year of me consistently showing up and it has all worked out. pricing really determines the type of following you will have too, plus branding is everything. here is my stores IG @ShopStCole

Hello Jackie I have been watching your videos for the past few days and I have learned a lot from yourself and other UA-camrs. I just want to say thank you again for posting these videos and I want to share where I am in starting my business. I am taking a class on how to start a business as well as getting my seller's permit and then after that I am working on web business cards and kind of looking through vendors to see what I want to sell for fall-winter season. Hey boo in one of your videos you mentioned when buying inventory at the very beginning start with 1 pack of each item. How do you go about it When marketing your items for Instagram without using your small inventory? Either I wear it to promote it or have friends to help me I obviously don’t wanna use the small inventory I have or I would lose $$$

When applying for a seller permit it’s asks for projected monthly sales & taxables sales what do you put if you haven’t made any sales yet or started the business ?
Create a sales forecast for the first year and base your numbers on that. I'm still learning how to do it myself. I'm in the research mode right now.
I have finally purchased my sellers permit but I am so nervous on how much i should purchase from my vendors. Also how much do i pay myself versus what I put back into the business from my sales?

Part of me feels like I’m over charging, but I’m also strictly online, have to ship, and I include tax in the price. Shipping supplies add up fast. My profit for my first launch should be about $1,000 after buying start up supplies and putting back 20% for taxes. I plan on putting most of that back into the boutique for more inventory. Launching is tough stuff!

For someone starting a boutique (new to the clothing business) would you say PayPal is a great way to process payments?
I believe so because you can be refunded if scammed by suppliers from what ive heard.
