    Regarding your upgraded Leaf being okay-ish, how about the infotainment unit (center console unit). If I recall correctly, you once talked about planning to replace it. Is that still the plan?

    • @PowerElectronicsBlog
      @PowerElectronicsBlog  4 роки тому

      Yes, but it's a lower priority project now - mainly because I ran into issues changing CAD programs. It's a lot of very finicky modeling to get a nicely fitting center console cover that also mounts correctly. Also after the mechanical bits, I still need to figure out cabling and some interface stuff for the A/C and rear view camera.

    • @matroosoft4589

      @@PowerElectronicsBlog Oké cool to see that it's at least still in the works. For work I do CAD design on a daily basis (work with Autodesk Inventor), I can probably help if you want. Also I designed a 3D printed phone holder bracket which I mounted to the center console by removing the airbag warning light in the center console. I can share it if you're interested, some viewers might like it. Don't want to push anything. :) Keep up the good work

      You're not talking about CCS I think, I think you mean an AC (type 2) charger. Take a look at TC charger, we use them for three phase charging. With a small battery like that, you shouldn't charge at a fast charger, you're limited to approx. 15-20kW

    Amazing job, boys. Finally it has a CCS charging and probably better handling in corners.
    However, this weighs a lot and consumption goes a bit higher.
    I can't still believe the 500 km range. Maybe in 50 km/h.

    • @EngineeringNibbles

    • @vladzis
      @vladzis 4 роки тому

      Check his previous videos, he did a test at motorway speeds with this battery.
      Not sure that do you mean better handling in corners? It's a van, not a car. I have 3rd party alloys on mine and it's like sticked to tarmac.
      Consumption isn't much changed at cruise speeds on motorways.
      133k mile, from new, e-NV200 owner here.
      Just to add, mine has SoH of 77%, and at 50km/h I still can get 120-130km of range, so do you maths over your negativity please, before commenting nonsense

    • @PowerElectronicsBlog
      @PowerElectronicsBlog  4 роки тому +1

      We've now tried out the range on 2 weekend drives. First weekend we drove it 330km and had about 100 left. Second we started at ~80%, drove almost 300km, charged 6kWh and arrived with 25%.
      I'd say a realistic mixed-use range is 450km now. Just highways or high speed, it can get as low as 300km.

    • @EngineeringNibbles
      @EngineeringNibbles 4 роки тому

      @@vladzis The Zoe I use with a 41kwh battery does about 22kwh/100km on the highway, I don't think it's overly negative to extrapolate that the overall consumption for the env would be a little higher. Small edit: a Peugeot partner electric I tried was higher, around 24kwh/100km on highway
      I guess flatter ground in the Netherlands with better weather and lower speed limits help compared to here, I'm glad to see that Powerelecyronics gets decent range and with ccs it'll be a crazy van.

      There is a big queue of us waiting. For me the env200 is a little bit too small. The e-VITO size is about right, or a master, but then you need a lot of battery and a fuck-off charger to fill it up in s sensible period of time, which all costs money. And SFAIK no-one is doing the reverse-enginering for those platforms that Muxsan has done for the Nissan stuff. I could, given enough time, and it might come to that one day, but I have a house to fix first so I'm waiting to see if anyone actually makes something commercial. Two hours to charge ,that's if the charging station is free,5 mins to fill my car ,to allow for some of my journeys add at least 2 hours to my journey time.

      Ray Chambers it’s not for everyone. But if you charge at home or work, for commutes there is no “fill up” time so those more frequent fuel stops at 5 minutes a piece start to add up.

      @@ALMX5DP you are right it's not for everyone but filling up petrol or diesel really doesn't take that much time in total. Once a week at 5mins a pop is still only 4.3hours in a year. A 30mins fast charge once a month is already 6 hours...

      @@TsLeng absolutely, but just shows that as a commuter vehicle with occasional fast charging trips, it can still be somewhat competitive in terms of total time spent per year in "filling up."
