I started watching a lot of cash stuffers and budget channels in the last few weeks and you’re one of my favorites! I’ve seen a ton of your videos and you seem like such a genuine person and a really good mom. I hope you have a good week 😊
Thank you for the little intro bit about how you organize your envelopes in your different binders!! It was very helpful, I’ve watched so many videos and didn’t fully understand til now!
This is a nice idea: attaching goals to your savings challenges. Makes the goal more exciting and fun, especially when you get to color those trackers. 😄 I think I'll have my savings challenges in a different binder. Tfs!
Thank you for explaining sinking funds an those that come around 1 time a year. I knew fixed and variable but wasn't sure sinking funds and ER and once a year funds. Makes more sense now. Thank you so much!!!
I love the idea of sinking funds!! It's awesome to tuck a away a bit of money here or there that way when something does come up like unexpected car maintenance, I have some money to put towards it instead of it completely wiping out my paycheck. 😅
Great video Jordan! I am one to leave the bills in the bank but I’ve had enough practice for years to know not to use that money anymore 😅. Took a long time though. That’s an awesome business goal to make planning paper products one day 🌷💜
Oh how I wish this video was around in July when I was trying to figure out my binders!! GREAT VIDEO!! Was wondering if you have a ‘Get to Know New City’ envelope for when you and your boys make the move? Wishing you continued success!
Thank you Ceci! ❤️🥰 That envelope is a great idea! I think after my trip I’m making solo soon, I’ll replace that envelope with an “Explore the City” envelope. ❤️🙌🏻
Great video love the way that you have it all set up and organized and makes it so simple and stress-free I got to go look over at your Etsy shop trying to do that today later on
Hi Jordan, Enjoy watching your video. I have several binders with cash envelopes. The only thing I don’t understand is the saving challenges. Where does the money come from to put in the different challenge envelopes? Do you withdraw money separately from what you withdraw to stuff the regular envelopes? Thanks.
Thank you for breaking down your binders. I'm a little late to this video, but I've been trying to find one that wasn't so confusing. I'm very new. like 1 week new lol! I know you said you usually split $500-$600 a week between your binders. My question is, how do you know how to break up the bills? How do you know how many 50's, 20's, 10's, 5's and 1's are needed? Also, how do you break down how much each envelope gets? I'm waiting for my binders and envelopes to arrive, but I did already have one budget planner that I've been trying to work with.
Hi Mzjeannine! Great questions! How I personally do it is I take it binder by binder. I know my bills are $300ish per week. Variable expenses binder gets 100-200, and sinking funds gets $100ish. Thats just my personal budget needs. So I look at my bills binder and see what envelopes need stuffed and what kind of bills I need to make that breakdown happen and I write it on a sheet of paper. ( 3 $50s, 4 $20, 3 5s, etc.) Then I do the same for the other binders.
So I am seeing this video on 10-15-22. I have been struggling with saving money. I did download and print the freebie savings challenges that you offered a while back. I just can't seem to figure out how to separate my envelopes, (I made my own from a pad of paper with a design on from DT and packing tape). This small intro is very helpful.
Jordan love the video! I can't seem to find anything that takes through the steps to begin this for the very first time. How and what determines how much cash you start with the very first time? Do I take out all the ash when I get paid? Any advice?
Total your past 12 months spending by category. Divide each category by the number of pay periods/year. That is the amount that you must stuff each payday.
Hey Jordan, I'm curious..for bills do you pull the cash out, put it back in and then pay the bills online? I like the idea of having cash out but we mostly pay everything online so I feel like I'm confusing myself 😅
Some people also put their bill money into a separate chequing account so its separate but still in the bank and pay electronically. Do whatever works best for you :)

Question: How many binders do I need to start with? I see you have 3. I have a house, car,1 daughter in school graduating in 2023 and a home business. What would you recommend?
Hello, I like you video. Thanks for explaining why you cash stuff your monthly bills. I was wondering why people do that, I just leave mine in the bank… makes sense now 🤓
So I have a question. I see alot of budgeters who cash stuff things like rent or mortgage, electric, gas, cable bill..etc. I don't understsnd why they would do this unless they don't have a checking account to pay the bills from. But if you do, it seems like a waste of time taking the money out the bank..stuffing it..then having to put it back in the bank to pay the actual bill. 🤔 Unless I am not understanding something?
Hi Raye, great question!! ❤️ I know a lot of cash budgeters do leave the bills money in the bank for this very reason BUT I know me, and if the money sits in the bank - I swipe the card. 😂 I pull money every week for sinking funds anyways AND I save for the following month and pay everything all at once on the first. So I go to the bank once a week, no matter if I were keeping bills on the card or not. But also I pay all of my bills on the first even if they aren't due until later in the month. So I think that's the big difference for me. If I were having to pull cash and put cash back constantly for rolling bills I don't think I could do it this way. Hope this helps! ! ❤️
no judgement, I am new to cash envelopes. Why is new phone in the sinking fund envelope and not savings envelope? Is it because it is a cheaper expense than a car?
Great question Sonda! It could definitely go in either. I have Cricut as a phone carrier and the iPhone SE is "only" $350 so I guess I don't consider it as large of a purchase as some of the other things like a car or moving. I know some people spend much more on a phone though, so they might want to put it in Savings Challenges instead of sinking funds. Really though, my savings challenges tend to be bigger purchases and/or things I just don't enjoy saving for. (The Savings Challenges make them fun. =P )

How about one? Later you may want to go with two: one for fixed expenses and another for variable expenses.
