- Festa Of Our Lady Of Lilies, , L-Imqabba, On my way to Siġġiewi I got diverted towards Żurrieq and noticed the blue bunting out near a small village of Mqabba (Maltese: L-Imqabba) which is a town in the Southern Region of Malta. It has a traditional Maltese village layout, with a population around 3,000 inhabitants. The Parish Church of the Assumption Is found at the core of the village. It has two band clubs, a number of gardens and a list of national monuments. Mqabba is on my list to visit, Looks interesting, So let’s take a look !!

Yes, and dont forget its was not the main feast, sometimes I check out my local village at fest time and see the effort that goes into setting up the feast,

I have no idea i had this on my list for ages it was going to be a lost in ...Its got ancient chapels and catacombs , but luckily me Google had a fit and i noticed the sign ! But ill go back for another adventure one day !

In Mqabba we celebrate 2 feasts....Our Lady of the Lilies (Madonna tal-Gilju) on the 3rd Sunday of June and The Assumption of Our Lady (known as Santa Marija) on 15th August.

@@rachel7565 sorry Rachel I can't answer that, parking is disastrous every where on festa, might be luckily or you might have to walk a lot never been to that festa

I really loved it there, complete surprise never been there before and had no idea about the festa, What lovely people smiles everywhere !!
That Cross in front of the church is a Dejma Cross. Dejma was a militia made up of male citizens who used these crosses as a gathering site to then go defend the islands from raiders. A Dejma list was recorded in 1419. So those crosses could date from that era.

Not too sure there are many, could be the ones in Valletta I forgot the name of the street
