so nice to see a replica with a functional supercharger!
Now they just need to take it out to the desert and get some grit and grime on it. Beautiful specimen. Definitely one of my all-time dream cars.
Same here man, I was looking into getting my own 16 years ago, back when prices were still affordable but I wasn't ready. Life is life and I never got one. But at least I got to meet someone with the same mindset that could actually get one, and I can live vicariously through him!

Interesting seeing one in a whole different country. I live in the area the first film was made. So it's kinda strange seeing a xb overseas.
There are a few stateside. I know I would have one myself if I could! Those XB's are gold nowadays.
As a fellow Australia who lives 20 minutes away from one of the main places the movie was filmed, I couldn’t agree more!

Jake has been a good friend of mine who I actually haven’t seen in a long while. He made the dream come true. Mad Max 2 “The Road Warrior” has always been my favorite of the movies and the car has always been a dream car as well!
I was expecting the police car to suddenly turn on his siren and violently turn around to start chasing the interceptor, would've been very cool

What a badass V8 interceptor! I still say this is most ass kicking car to ever hit the movie screen besides Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry's Charger and Vanishing Point's Challenger!.. Beautiful job on your Mad Max car.

I really like the way that front end looks without the lower spoiler..Having a friend with his own cop car in the video is cool to..kind of remind me of the ones used in the Burt Reynolds movie White Lighting.
It was actually a dukes police car. But they all have similar shapes. I think the ones in White Lightning were Galaxies just like the one Burt was running in if I remember correctly. That was such a great movie!

I have been wanting one most my life. But, it unfortunately isn’t in the cards for me. Glad I have been able to see and be in one. Never driven it unfortunately.
As an Aussie who grew up completely mesmerised by the Interceptor & of course the movies (except Fury Rd...dogshit) I'm so impressed mate. Thanks too for promoting Aussie muscle, how good does the Coupe look?

after Max took the Interceptor, even tho it was built for him, they issued a "code" looking for him. it was considered "unauthorized use' and having Roscoe chasing him is just greatness. lol love it. is this the "Last V 8" clone that is considered the best replica out there? I am working on trading up an Ausie Falcon and would appreciate any info as I get into my build.

Same! I am just happy I had the opportunity to meet up with this owner on multiple occasions.
Im in Sydney. I remember when mates got their car licences as teenagers these 2 doors as standard were relatively easy to obtain. One mate bought his genuine XB GT 2 door for i think $6800 in 1987. He sold that because he wanted a Landau ( the same 2 Door thats rolls over in the beginning of the second Mad Max movie ) price i dont know.... They were just seen as 10 to 15 year old cars not worth a dime.
Other friends bought ither cars that are as rare as hens teeth... UA-cam the 1971 2 door Chrysler by Chrysler. I think it stands as the most beautiful Australian made car of all time...
Even in the late 90s / early 2000s they were still affordable. But after that? Unobtainium!
You talking about the Valiant? Very clean car. As the muscle era died in the US you aussies kept it going for another few years!

The moat jump scene where the gyro copter guy threw a snake onto another guy standing on the back of a car and subsequently he accidentally fired arrows into the driver and they crashed.... That car was a rare "1971 or 72 Chrysler by Chrysler"... They customized the front of it actually with an American car grille over the headlights front... Which actually looks fitting to the car... It came out with a twin headlight look
I love this car.. but I am sorry the xb front headlights look so much better as stock.

The Dutch Texan Yeah, i'd love to have any muscle car from the 60-70's or the newest ones but here in holland they are either terribly expensive or rotten and still expensive :(, and doing cool mods to it like the car in the video is probably not even alowed.....
The blower is out of the question! You might be able to eek by with the sidepipes, but who knows...
All I know is that Texas is THE place to be if you like cars like this. You won't even get pulled over by police, and when you do, it's because they want to take a look at the car rather than question legality.

yeah, i'd like to live there but texas is a bit far and i dont wanna leave everything behind also i dont think a dutch education wil be recognised there so id have to go to a school again. i am considering to move to germany just because everythin is just so much cheaper there, for example a dodge challenger brand new the most expensive version would cost about 80-90k, here in holland you cant even find one and would you import it from germany you would be looking at over 300k euro's because of all the taxes and shit.
+The Dutch Texan An acquaintance of mine living in St Catharines Ontario, Canada has the Max Max interceptor version from the first movie. I believe he spent 4 years putting it together. You can do things like this in Canada also. Ontario police more concerned with texting-while driving than anything concerning a blower or side pipes.

Its sad that people are so much more interested in intercepters then the actual xb coupe. I feel like they don’t care about the history and culture this car has around it and opt out for a cool movie car.
I see it the same way with the DeLorean. At this stage converting a DeLorean or running and driving XB isn’t something you should do. If it’s a junker? Go right ahead. Because if you give me the choice between a junk car or a running and driving replica I’ll take replica any day of the week.

The number ten car just had a authentic blower added to it on the east coast the owner is the guy from junkyard empire he also owns Damascus auto his name is Andy cohen
I can tell you there was no number 10 car. Only 2 ever existed, one of which was rolled off a hill and is now in the Mad Max Museum. Not much left of that one, even one of the gas tanks was stolen while it rotted in a yard for decades.

He is well known in the community. There was no 10th car. 2 real ones, the rest are all replicas.

Yeah stoxk cleveland 351 with 6/71 blower but it doesn't make boost to the car i guess because when i see the car going reverse its not spinning and when the car was about to drive i didnt hear any whining sound while the car revving and its a movie magic(blower can turn on and off) but doesn't make power, but its still cool and legend
this sounds like it has 200 hp
According to mad max 1 it was 600 hp of fuel injected machinery... In the end it's all movie magic!

Is it just me or is everyone who owns one of the cars scared to do a Mad Max style burnout? In the movie, Max blew though two gears yet all of the videos you find here on YT, I don't recall one who did a burnout worth the legend of this car.
If your car doesn't have the power, or you don't have the balls then don't even try.
+The King's Servant ever thought of movie magic? Oil over the rears to keep em spinning and provide ample amount of smoke? The movie interceptor had the same drive train as this one does. Actually, this one now has a 5 speed, so the gear ratios are even closer together. It is more than capable of turning them big meats over as you can see.
So that burnout was not a result of HP but oil on the tiers?
