I was there too!! Somewhere on the floor. The band stayed at Rancho Encantado in Tesuque, NM. Got to meet them the day after the show. Plant signed some autographs, took some pics, it was freakin awesome! My friends and I still talk about it to this day.
I was at this show also, I saw this tour/show 6 months earlier in Dallas, TX because at the time I thought they would not play Albuquerque. I saw them twice in six months.
I was at this show all those years ago! Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, NM was packed to the rafters. It was a semi-religious experience for me too. They featured the Española Symphony Orchestra. Española was the city I went to school in. A great honor! I never got to Led Zeppelin in their halcyon days but I did get to experience their music at this gig. The sound of this video is excellent! Props!
Friends is a string beast. Oh my lord, Four Sticks about beat me up with that thunderous drumming. Michael Lee was a fantastic fit on the drums. My brother in law was playing violin at this show. You get a good shot of him during “Friends “ when that sweet spot of soothing violins hit 1:09. 07 seconds. Freeze Frame. He has a full head of sandy brown hair and eyeglasses on. Totally Bitchin.... turns out he continued on the tour in AZ, TX and San Diego. He almost played the San Francisco gig. But stopped cause he had other prior engagements to play. He said the call up for New Mexico was kinda suddenly. They rolled into town and requested a symphony musicians to play. He said he was not starstruck much. I’m like how could u not? 😮. This show is pure awesomeness .
Long Live The Music Of Led Zeppelin. There is no finer on the planet. 54 Years Led Zeppelin. LedHed Steven 🎸 🎸 🎸 Edit: RIP Michael Lee. You were a great drummer, almost as great as John Henry Bonham, and that's saying a heck of alot. 🥁 🥁 🥁 🥁 P.S. Thanx again, Dario. You have no idea what these do for me. LedHed
Very good concert! However I want to see the musicians playing not those stupid for me videos interposed during the performance eg. No Quarter.. Just my POV.
No, he didn't need help. They brought in Porl Thompson to play several different instruments. Jimmy wanted to be able to bring in some of the things that were on studio versions of songs 🎵 that couldn't be played by one guitar. Can't play two different things at once. For instance, the song 🎵 Achilles Last Stand has 7 guitar 🎸 tracks. That way one guitar plays the main rythym while the other can walk in & out with the musical phrases that were recorded on the album version. Plus, I thought it was cool of Jimmy to give some of the lead guitar figures to Porl in The Song Remains the Same. He played alot of what was on the album. Listen 🎶 to any '73 Zeppelin version live. There's none better than Jimmy Page. LedHed Steven 🎸 🎸 🎸 🎸
@@williamhiles7404 Indeed. Jimmy did NOT need help. They just wanted a sound closer to the original studio versions. But Jimmy COULD do this stuff alone. That's why the 1998 tour was Jimmy playing guitar alone...that tour was back to the original vocals/guitar/bass/drums-style line-up.
