Gunny Deleon was my first sergeant when I hit the fleet in 2013. She went to Australia with us in 2014 for MRF-D. She was well composed and a great leader and I did not want to be on her bad side.
Oh wow, Gunny Deleon was my second hat in basic training, P Co. It's been nine years and I still recognized the, "Look at me now," in a freaking millisecond.
Even being prior enlisted (like myself) when going back in from civilian life you need to dig deep and remember what military life was like to get in the zone for training. It's funny, I've been out over 8 years now and recently I've been having dreams of being in basic again, sometimes as a new trainee and sometimes as one that's graduated and telling others what to do... And remember, no matter what branch you're in we ALL served.
How can one understand what is being shouted? I have a difficult time trying to figure it out when I watch and listen to these videos. I guess I'd be on the receiving end of a lot of PT and group adjusting!
Marines have Boot Camp down right. Prior service Marines here switched over to US Army Officer. US Army has nation building, Special Forces, Field Manuals, and OPORDS, field craft and land navigation as their strengths. But making Marines is the way to do it. It would have been awesome to say I make Marines
Amber Weikle No it/you don't sound crazy, you just want some dicipline so you are ready for every situation the world will give you, cause it will give you a lot situations where you need to cope with whatever it is and you can't cope with it unless you stay calm.
matthew calderon Be happy for that. Every time soldiers need to fight in a war on the battlefield, a lot of those soldiers, IF not all will get mental problems in the future and that's a fact.
and got sent to School of Infantry thinking Iwas going to see action-nothing, almost got to go to Samalia. Firstly, I joined to back for everthing this country did for my parents and my family and lastly, because I wanted to experience combat. Looking back, I thank God and the Virgin Mary for protecting me. I gained a lot and will always be in debt to the CORPS.
yeah, but the academic commands plus the Marine structure is still gonna make it hard. most of them are college grads are prior enlisted so they probly get harder coursework
OMG , Grenada , Somalia , Iraq , Afghanistan , all such huge victories , you conquered all of these incredible superpowers with such conviction and excellence . such amazing stories of uncompromised success for the world"s biggest army
cminksful in WW2 despite all the western propaganda , it was the Russians who absorbed the German armies and who bore the brunt of the ground war , in WW1 the Yanks only joined in 1917 and god knows where Korea would have ended if it wasn't for the truce , so the Yanks are overrated
superwout True the Russians did absorb most of the German army but due to the other allies they turned it into a two front war which took vital resources away from the eastern front. So who knows if Germany would of lost against Russia if the USA never entered the war. Also the USA pretty much single handedly took care of Japan too they had help but they were the main fighting force on that front.
Damn, the Marine Corps must be losing a lot of money. At my pre-ship this year, we didn't get any equipment, uniforms, or anything. We didn't even have enough rifles for weapons class. The only food they had was MREs. But this was in Oregon, and we had only 30 Candidates there. Maybe in more populated parts they get better funding.
My last two 1stSgts have both been prior OCS female DIs that didnt extend tours. Nothing better than someone that RUNS off the drill field instead of getting kicked off.
its all about getting you in a vulnerable position, like the position those candidates are in. the DI's know your success depends on your ability to follow their plan, plus, they know you will be making a lot more money than them eventually. They have no incentive to go easy on you.
That was a perfectly good comment. I hope it's buried and not deleted. Yes, they read my messages. As for that, I wasn't the only one to make a comment, and I questioned it. I don't care that they read my messages. The army isn't a place for freedom.
ugh dude I fucking hate the chow hall....to me that was the worst part of OCS...because that is like one of the few times in the day where all the Sergeant Instructors are all together, and they're just like sharks in that damn place.
They only high-fived to show the DI their camaraderie. They knew she'd chew them out (maybe didn't expect only one to get chewed out) but they'd be shocked at her words in the interview. Notice how it didn't bother the bond girl? Do they get points for staying calm when the DI grills them?
Well I know with the Army you have to go through BCT first. Go to your job training, and then attend OCS, I'm not sure about the marines. The best you could do is contact a recruiter, or you could look into ROTC at the college level. Hope this helps.
I'm a Marine Officer Candidate righ tnow and how it works is... first u go to OCS which is Officer Boot Camp so to speak (Its where they screen u to see if u have what it takes to be an officer in the Corps), then TBS (The Basic School) which trains u how to be a Marine Officer, then Specialized Training which u learn ur MOS.
+Allenwinger55 It doesn't matter if you're in officer candidate school or enlisted. EVERYONE goes through Boot Camp. So no, there's no way for you to bypass that.
The guy asking clearly thinks that Recruit Training aka Boot Camp, is seperate from Officer Candidate School. It is only based on name and types of training otherwise. They're exactly the samething just given different titles to distinguish between the Officer & Enlisted training camps.
Only because this is officer/OCS prep training. At OCS, DIs are referred to by their respective rank (Staff Sergeant, GSgt, etc.), unlike enlisted boot camp where you address them as "Sir" or "Ma'am" and call them Drill Instructors.
See, you don't get it, this is part of their training, they have to be mentally fit.In battle things are more hectic than this so if they are not mentally prepared than how will they be able to do their job.
They are not treated like slaves... They have to be torn out of their comfort zones. And the men and women will bound better and stronger as a team, a fighting force because they are going threw the same shit. And know how each other feel and function.
That big girl in the thumbnail looks very impressive. Also this video has been popping up in my feed for a very long while. I'm still not going to watch it. I just dropped a comment.
Personally I like they way they have it now is cool since it they look more natural but at the same time the sergeant instructors (OCS DIs) are just as ruthless if not more since they are training candidates instead of recruits
+luckyvet if women suck then I guess u shouldn't be in this world because remind u , u did come from a woman's stomach from help of a guy. If it wasn't for mothers(who are women)u wouldn't be alive be happy u are alive and p.s women can do wat men do according to this video so yeah think about that👍
+Lynette Neroladakis Correction, if it weren't for Men, this whole population of humans wouldn't be here due to the fact that we have organs to cause reproduction. And furthermore if women could do what men do, why is it that there still isn't a female special forces? Fact of the matter not one woman has passed any special forces training. The government even lowered the standards and still not one woman has passed. If women can do what we do, why is it that only men fight on the front lines?

+luckyvet Very true. That is one thing that really chaps my ass is when some feminist cunt gripes about how it's because of women why we care here, or how they're just as capable as men are. Physical structure of our bodies prove that wrong. it's basic human anatomy. Yes some women are very smart and do succed in areas where men dont, but to outrite compare is absurd.
+luckyvet shut the fuck up , are u mad that woman can do a mans job, females out there have become very successful by becoming Pilots, soldiers, military sergeants, boxers, famous actors, tattoo artists, dentist and even doctors like df. Does that bother that woman can do a mans job, we're all created as humans so shut up if it don't bother u then shut that pale ass up and stop complaining Deal wit it

When I saw that girl give the high-five right as she was walking by I was like "Oh, no.
@awesomerj03 I know! Its OSC 😬 she should have known.
Come on Punjab
that voice Crack in the beginning dam
Bad voice
Sandika Pratama Not necessarily, I’m pretty sure she has been yelling all day that she lost her voice
@@uzer141 maybe
@@sandikapratama5697 Nothing maybe about it.
I like her. Kickin ass and taking names. Motivating shiznit, think I smiled throughout the whole video
Mad respect!!
The instructor tho.......
I knew when I saw the high five something bad was going to happen lol
yup😂
Me to😂
this makes me change my mind from joining the military
From not wanting to join, to joining the Marine Corps?
So do they still call it the drill field if you’re working OCS?
How can one understand what is being shouted? I have a difficult time trying to figure it out when I watch and listen to these videos. I guess I'd be on the receiving end of a lot of PT and group adjusting!
shes my inspiration
Years ago, I tried to get into PLC but was DQ’d at MEPS for medical reasons. Sucks.
this is heaven for me.
as soon as i saw the high five i was like "oh shit!!" if that were me it would have been quaterdeck all day!!!
why dont they use loud speakers?
The most important thing in PLC to me is coming up with a sleep and chow plan.
She just said "Civilian Sector" Haha I remember that day when I said that lol.

Why we're peace time Marine Corps it's gay as hell we ain't going to combat anytime soon
matthew calderon
Be happy for that. Every time soldiers need to fight in a war on the battlefield, a lot of those soldiers, IF not all will get mental problems in the future and that's a fact.
Peace time war time, you're giving Uncle Sam a signed blank check. I went to Marine Corps boot camp after high school, during Operation Desert Strom
and got sent to School of Infantry thinking Iwas going to see action-nothing, almost got to go to Samalia. Those drill instructors are the biggest POGS

I love you guys.
Lmao ‘Gunnery Sergeant’ Hill was my 1st Sgt at 2nd LAR back in 2018/19 small corps
My last two 1stSgts have both been prior OCS female DIs that didnt extend tours. Nothing better than someone that RUNS off the drill field instead of getting kicked off.
Platoon 4033 Oscar Co 2005.... Gunny Deleon was SSgt Long back then and my Senior DI!
I love it
They don't wear the DI smokey bear cover??
expression at 2:05
priceless
1:37 would of been worse if there we're no cameras
A lot worse lol
its all about getting you in a vulnerable position, like the position those candidates are in. the DI's know your success depends on your ability to follow their plan, plus, they know you will be making a lot more money than them eventually. They have no incentive to go easy on you.
Okay so drill instructors even play "simon says" with their troops?!?
@hrnn06 She is not crying...she is hoarse from yelling. It happens to everyone in USMC training. Can see why you would think it though.
Did I just hear her say "...Ima get you!" LOL
That was a perfectly good comment. I hope it's buried and not deleted. Yes, they read my messages. As for that, I wasn't the only one to make a comment, and I questioned it. I don't care that they read my messages. The army isn't a place for freedom.

Why go on war ladies?..come lets build family...motherhood is the best calling.
I served in the Marines back when they beat your ass and called you every name in the book. Boot Camp was at Parris Island during the summer.

I'm in love with gunny
Go to school and get your bachelors, then masters(2 year, no thesis) then join up.
Oh don't get on the gunnery sgts bad side you don't want to mess things up
We use a presonal radio network (the net) to give orders, swearing and shouting arnt allowed
ugh dude I fucking hate the chow hall....to me that was the worst part of OCS...because that is like one of the few times in the day where all the Sergeant Instructors are all together, and they're just like sharks in that damn place.
Donald Morrison 😂
I hope my girl doesn't give herself a stroke.
Some of us find that to be music to our ears
Rule of thumb: If the coach does not holler at you, then he or she must not care. These coaches care and DO HOLLER. AHHHHH!
All drill instructors will die of heart disease from all the screaming
That's just stupid.
What attitude? What did she do wrong?
They only high-fived to show the DI their camaraderie. They knew she'd chew them out (maybe didn't expect only one to get chewed out) but they'd be shocked at her words in the interview. Notice how it didn't bother the bond girl? Do they get points for staying calm when the DI grills them?
How do you enlist in officer candidate skill, and bypass basic military training? I mean if that is possible. I'm curious.
Well I know with the Army you have to go through BCT first. Go to your job training, and then attend OCS, I'm not sure about the marines. The best you could do is contact a recruiter, or you could look into ROTC at the college level. Hope this helps.
NROTC Scholarship.

I would have loughed while drill surgent screaming
you can't even spell laugh sergeant and you would not even pass bootcamp fat boi
They didnt yell like that in 1981 to 1985!!! Things changed. They yelled commands but not on and on.
Reserve doesn't count as prior enlistment.
Kind of Random. But i like how Marines can mix there Woodland MARPAT with BDU's. look's pretty cool
so i have a question even im a Marine why dont the DIs wear the smokey bear
Only because this is officer/OCS prep training. At OCS, DIs are referred to by their respective rank (Staff Sergeant, GSgt, etc.), unlike enlisted boot camp where you address them as "Sir" or "Ma'am" and call them Drill Instructors.
Daaamn that’s Sgtmaj. Camacho now !
sir - cant hear you - sir
Why do you say that?
Wow is amazing, good girls
im a mendoza!!! yea, we keep it real!
Officer Candidates* School Prep 2011- The Drill Instructor
Where are their fucking campaign covers!?
Why the voice sound like that
She sounds the same way at home LOUD
very good
See, you don't get it, this is part of their training, they have to be mentally fit.In battle things are more hectic than this so if they are not mentally prepared than how will they be able to do their job.
One thing I notice is that marine DI always speak so fast. Sometimes you can not understand what they are saying.
They are not treated like slaves... They have to be torn out of their comfort zones. And the men and women will bound better and stronger as a team, a fighting force because they are going threw the same shit. And know how each other feel and function.
if youre already a marine are they allowed to yell at you like that? Or do they treat you with more respect?
They may secretly respect you more, but they'll still yell at you.
That big girl in the thumbnail looks very impressive. Also this video has been popping up in my feed for a very long while. I'm still not going to watch it. I just dropped a comment.

The "M" is capitalized.
woman drill instructor yelling at me thats kind of hot...
Now we know why you are, "timmy the alone guy!"
Training them so you can take orders from them later.
Jessica lynch would be proud.
yes
@miramar9999 you need to scream orders or respond to them in combat and you need to be loud for that reason
I’d be scared if there was this military trained 6ft tall girl rushing me. I would run so fast
girls are beautiful I love all of them
The DI's should have the Smokey cover's just like MCRD ones do...LOL
Personally I like they way they have it now is cool since it they look more natural but at the same time the sergeant instructors (OCS DIs) are just as ruthless if not more since they are training candidates instead of recruits
I rather not lmao that way they can’t hit you on the temple with it when you fuck up lmao
looks like fun
Why r people so sexist about female instructors or act like they never seen one before😑, its 2016 like seriously That's nothing new

Why is this so tame lol
The British army does the same thing without the yelling. Some would say they produce better officers. personally don't know
yelling is there in any military... some just doesn't show it on camera... US army has the best infantry officers in the world
1:10 the pressure will go up if you yell like that
Once you get your bars, treat your Marines like Marines. The reason I got out was because of toxic leadership.
