Ive had the same 2 sandcranes come to my home for over 11 years now ,and each year they bring there new babies to show us what a wonderful job they did making new babies, we have a pond and watching them teach the little ones is a experience . Then as quickly as they come once the female is ready to sit on eggs she dissappear yet the male continues comming everyday until the eggs hatch and then he gets her and then they all come to the house . But over the years we have noticed once the babies get to a certain age and height the parents chase them off ,guess that's there way .

That's wonderful! A friend of mine had the same pair nest near her house for 17 years! They are so elegant to watch. Yes, the babies get kicked out at about 10 months of age.
