  • So this rig really is a nightmare. Seemed to have worked out most of its issues that axial let slide by to get it to market. Then once I installed the Stinger Combo for it another pretty serious issue arose, drive shaft grinding. So now when your going downhill and twisting the micro komodo hits the driveshaft so badly its actually gouging the driveshaft and bogs the motor out. Tried moving the shocks around from stock to the 48mms, moving the mounting locations, even put in the stiffer springs, still hits it. This was a serious issue overlooked by Furitek. If only they would of mounted the motor about 2-3mm towards the rear of the mounting plate I think this could of been prevented. Now Ive gotta figure out a way to make this work. Might need to just leave this Ax24 platform and move all the guts to a diff chassis like the Scythe. But for now Im going to try to make it work somehow, just not sure what Ive gotta do to make that happen :(

So I saw one that had a mofo servo offset and the battery next to it (damn near all the weight over the front axle), a chunk of velco on top of the transmission to held the esc. Plenty of room for everything. Of course no pics or links. Damn it.

Yea those are pretty awesome for climbing and not so awesome going downhill. I always try to make it as good as possible which is why Ive moved this thing into a Injora Kangaroo chassis now. Its unreal at what it can do in the new set up.

You're the only person with actual integrity ive seen calling out this absolute bullshit product. Furitek is a horrible company. Every single one of their "upgrades" ive tried has removed performance or completly make it inoperable like this cruel joke of a $140 paper weight. What a sick joke. Every other youtuber will contiune to suck off furitek for free products and ignore the obvious issues that expose the fact that furitek doesnt care about their consumers in the slightest. They easily could have made a functional kit. They just didn't care. They know their army of paid review bots will make sure they sell like hot cakes. The consumer will have to figure out how to make it work 🤷‍♂️ return? Haha. Dont make me laugh even harder. Furitek has lost all of my business for snything but ESCs. Its the only thing they are capable of producing without fucking everything up. This is basically tantamount to spitting in someone's face. Furitek spit in all of our faces and the top reviews will tell you to say thank you for it 🙄

Thanks man! I really didnt like what happened to this rig along its path.. That stinger combo up here in Canada is even more then 140 and it didnt work like it should, rubbing and binding, had to force it to fit. Not kewl in my books at all. I buy al my stuff personally so when I test it out, its getting called out. Like the AX24, hate that thing with a passion, biggest waste of cash and the mods you have to do to make it so its not rolling on every lil bump... Ooof.

Ive got it into a Kangaroo Chassis now, thing is 100x better then what it was. Check out a few of my latest vids. Its crazy fun, also just put in two Mofo RC Black Label Servos, really powerful.

Which chassis? Unfortunately I just ordered the Furitek chassis. I have seen people that love it. Guess I will go ahead and try it first, then switch if I have to 🤷‍♂️

Man, those Ax24's sure seem to be a bit of a fail. Just about better off building from the ground up on your own from parts. They really had a chance to grab hold of the market and steer it back away from FMS and Hobby Plus. But they seem to have let the accounting dept. run the show and are gift wrapping their market share and handing it to the competition. I just wish the competition would match SCX's 1/24th scale size.

Yea man, this Ax24 is a nightmare.. Wish people would of been honest about how bad the thing is and I would of just overlooked the thing like I should of.. With the Kanga-Ax there is only 3 original parts from the Ax left in it.. way better to just build up from the ground, would of saved about 150 bucks. Ive got a bunch of vids just hating on the thing... lol

@@DurpVonFronz Yep. I like Matt over on 2FMRC. He doesn't pull punches. He's fair and doesn't get caught up in brand nonsense. I watch a few channels regularly to see what's new. But most you have to kinda parse through the sponsored talking points. Unless it's Josh over at Texoma RC. He's an awesome mad scientist of pure performance but also hard to understand wtf he's talking about sometimes! LOL! His designs are so out of the box and way ahead of the curve. I'm just not a fan of 3D prints. A lot of time sanding needed to get it looking good. I'm tempted to order one of his newest chassis' and links, etc to replicate it. Hand carve/bend/cast them out of aluminum or carbon fibre or G10.

@@wingnutbert9685 Yea he does some crazy builds. I also not that big on the 3D printed rc stuff cause you gotta do so much to it to get it smooth but I still kinda want a Dinky Rc Rev 2.0 as they put integrate metal into the chassis to make it much stronger which I find awesome. But its going to need to be sanded as the print is crazy layered and is very noticable. I think one thing that would be awesome to own vs a 3d printer is a laser cutter to make some awesome chassis and parts. I dont want to deal with the waste and mis-fires that happen from 3d printer either.

@@DurpVonFronzI've wondered about tumbling 3D printed stuff in a media like crushed glass or sand. Pretty easy to build a bucket tumbler or buy a cheap one. Over a few hours or days running, it might smooth it out. Or at least knock the high, thin edges off so it would be easier to hit it with filler or a coat of CA glue, lightly sand and paint.
If you're inclined to the computer designed and cut stuff, I guess a laser could be fun. Myself, I don't see the value. Pretty big money investment. A bunch of time learning to use and design with the software. And seems like there's constantly still things misprinting/cutting.
To me, it seems like 99.9% of stuff made on printers/cutters could be made for a fraction or the time and money by hand. Bit of the ol' graph paper drawing and some hobby knifes and saws are cheap. You can buy sheets and blocks of most plastics, carbon fiber, aluminum. Cast resin sheets and blocks like G10, can be had from knife and pen making supply shops. A lot of plastics can be heat bent and/or moulded with hot water or a hair drier. Aluminum cuts just like wood, so it's easy to work with. Soldering brass hobby tube is easy with practice. Aluminum can be epoxied. There's Fimo baked sculpting clay. There's resin beads you can buy, heat in hot water and squish into a mould that you can crave out of wood. And for free plastic sheet goods, the recycling bins as full of treasures! Laundry/dish soap containers are big chunks of colored plastic sections that are easy to cut and heat mould. Those clear take-out or salad clamshell containers are great for window panels. Big enough, I'd bet they could be warmed up and DIY vac formed into body panels. And the parts and panels of old electronics is just a whole universe unto itself!
Just depends of how DIY one wants to get.
The computerized stuff looks fun, and it's great for those that just don't want to get into things with their hands. But I just don't see a hobbyist getting value for time and money.
......And yes, once you start seeing everything as a building material, it's a slippery slope that can lead to hoarding! LOL!

@@wingnutbert9685 Hahaha totally man, been asking a few people about doing that in the lil 24 Rc community here on youtube during the livesteams a few of em do. 3D print, tumble, and maybe even dip/brush on epoxy for added strength. :) Yea Ive seen those cutters work really well and the new software out there is pretty impressive. My dad was a CAD guy at his work so measuring and getting right wouldnt be to difficult with someones help, and the vids on how to do it out there now are really informative. Yea Im not into hoarding at all, well anything but boxes for the RC course... LOL. And dont want to get too DIY for the rigs as I much prefer parts of quality and scale vs handmade stuff. Its the one reason I havent got a 3D printed chassis. WT micro does a nice Resin 3D printed Toyota body though, I think if its just cosmetic like that Id be fine with it, but the prices are kinda crazy.
