It's funny that Bill Paxton was killed by Terminator, The Predator, and an Alien. Then he went on to hunt Twisters lol
He was also in Tombstone
"Affirmative"
My uncle took me and my cousin to see this without my mom's permission but it didn't even matter. It was soooooooo good. It actually became me and mom's favorite movie to watch together.
So glad you watched man!
Yeah actually. This might just be the best sequel ever.
It is
Aliens, T2 and The Godfather part 2 are the only sequels to surpass the original.
@@chrisking6667hmmm Empire Strikes Back
@@galadballcrusher8182 I agree but it's highly debatable and not a clear cut better film.
@@chrisking6667 not debatable, way before T2 people were calling Empire best sequel ever . Majority agrees is probably best in the franchise soit belongs on this list.
BTW, Vasquez was also in _Titanic_ . She was the Irish mother in bed trying to console her children as the water started rushing into the cabin. James Cameron likes to reuse actors.
Wow thank you for pointing this out I didn't notice her
She also was in Terminator 2 😀
@@Pavel.Balevski you just spoiled it cuz he hasn’t yet reacted to T1 or T2
T2/Terminator 2 is a pretty good sequel.
watching soon
It's one of the best sequels
For me T2 does edge out this one for the quality of a sequel but damn it’s pretty close overall.
@@obocechaAliens > T2
Both have the same director: James Cameron
The dude can make a fuckin’ movie
Good job watching the extended version 👌 love your reaction and this great movie.
Love aliens but the first one is my favorite. The suspense was so good in the original along with the claustrophobia *chefkiss👌*. But aliens makes Ripley one of the best female heroes period.
Agreed 100%, while I can see the appeal for loads of action in these type of films, its the building of suspense, the feeling of unknown, the moment you arrive on an alien planet and everything feels hostile, even the climate and the weather, it all comes together in the first film, with all the mystery to make for a terrifying experience. Nothing can top that and the film-making there was literally a master stroke of suspense, even Hitchcock would be proud of what Ridley Scott achieved there. Plus it was an original idea of a film, the sequels just built on top of that which is way easier than making something like this from ground zero. Both are great films, but props must be given to the original.
Alien is also my favourite. Anytime I watch Alien followed by Aliens straight afterwards, Aliens looks workmanlike in comparison. As a piece of film making Alien is pretty much perfect from beginning to end, whereas I think Aliens is a bit flawed for the first half of the movie. I think once Aliens does get going it succeeds in being a worthy sequel, but I've always appreciated how Alien doesn't have a single wasted moment in it.
I agree.
Though I also think Alien 3 is underrated, because it’s more like #1 than #2. And it is the first time we see a face hugger make a different kind of alien through a non human animal.
@@gregclarke2183 I think Alien 3 was dead in the water right from the beginning, due to the opening scenes (without giving away spoilers). Whatever comes after that, just feels like a complete insult to everything that happened in Aliens and to Ripley in general. Disregarding that part though, Alien 3 directors cut especially is a pretty decent movie.
@@gregclarke2183 I've definitely come to appreciate 3 more over the years. My only nitpick is them killing hicks and newt offscreen. Resurrection is not the best but a guilty pleasure.
Great reaction!!!!!
Fun fact- This movie (along with Terminator 1984) actually influenced the first person shooting video game genre. James Cameron is an innovator. He also has an engineering degree and designed the ships and the iconic weapons from this movie. The steady-cam smart gun that Vasquez and Drake uses to the iconic 10 mm pulse rifles are all James Cameron's designs. The sound effects are top notch to this day. And, Sigourney Weaver was nominated for best actress for Ripley.
They also used steady-cams as a base for the *big* guns.
A neat fact, the knife thing, one of the actors suggested to the director that they do that to Bill Paxton (Titanic actor, Hudson here) without telling him so the scream and face was all legit
And the egg layer is called the queen
All 4 alien movies are quite different, and I’m really glad you’re going to watch them all 👍
I'd personally skip three and four, but three made me *furious* for the disrespect done to the characters and art.
@@brigidtheirish three and four are definitely not as good, but I’m still interested in Major’s reaction.
@@Scrappy_Dreams Fair 'nough.
Three simple words to describe this sequel, BEST SEQUEL EVER!! Heck yes to older movies, dont be fooled by the fact many are black and white, and dont have the CGI that modern movies have. What they do have are great stories. Yes to the Bond series, I believe there are 26 of them. They are clever, action packed and fun. Yes to Casablanca, I would also get into some Alfred Hitchcock directed films, like Rear Window and Psycho .
OMG you killed me with your reaction. 😆🤣😂👌👏 Fabulous as always Leo. Thanks for the energy boost. 😁🤣Boooom!!
Great pick. Aliens is one of the best sequels ever. Also, PVT Hudson had a treasure trove of quotes. He was a scene stealer. Also props to Weaver for being a boss chick.
Ripley earned her place, she didn't get it served to her on a gold plate.
Yes.
"I never knew she had a background in Badassery" You are fantastic and your reactions delightful. So glad you enjoyed the film. The first movie was a sci-fi horror movie, this was action sci-fi. The other movies are not as good.
The Assembly Cut of Alien 3 is excellent. But it's not easy to find.
This is hands down my most favorite bill Paxton role ever!!! GAME OVER MANNNNN!!!!
I love the scene when the ship crashes and he has that breakdown
12 Angry Men is a movie that will change your mind about old movies. It's 100% about great writing and great acting, with 0% filler.
Good idea great film, very good example. The modern The Man from Earth, did something similar, once again just acting, a few people in a room, with great dialogue, intriguing. Proof that no budget is necessarily needed to make a great film.
The OG, then maybe the remake.
Absolutely. What a movie - and would love to see Major’s reaction.
Was going to suggest that too - fantastic movie!
There are films even older than that one that are just as good.
Aliens is literally in many folks top 10 horror/sci-fi movies. Definitely the best.
It's my no.2 sci fi film... No. 1 is T2
There are so many great old movies and I look forward to watching your reaction(s) to some of them. The ones you mentioned are great. I think 12 Angry Men (1957) is exceptionally good. Also, It's A Wonderful Life (1946) is a great Christmas movie for future reference. ✌🏽💜
I love you're reactions so much. How much you get into the story and the movie it's amazing, I love it.
Ever since i could remember but def once T2 dropped Jimbo has been my fave director, Cameron can just make the most believable live action animes you literally never see anywhere else. He is the live action Otomo basically in my eyes : D
The first two films are legendary, anything that comes after, is simply less. You can watch them if you want but they are nowhere close to the perfection that is the first two films.
Space horror was never as good as it is in the first alien films.
Paul Reiser (Burke) brought his mom to see the movie and when Burke died, she cheered with the rest of the audience.
"He was in Titanic." So was Vasquez ... she was the Irish mother with two kids. She was also the foster mother in Terminator 2 (all James Cameron movies.
MAJOR! Let it burn, baby. Let it burn. Glad I got to watch this with you, it was a lot of fun brother
Awesome movie
EPIC sequel. This movie is fantastic! But you can stop after this film. The other Aliens really aren't that good. Skip to Prometheus, which takes place in the same universe, but doesn't include the Ripley character.
Nah, all reactors stop at 2, I want to see the next couple.
Holy shit man I laughed so hard in the beginning when you said "don't tell me she's been there for 7 years!"
Hudson - Bill Paxton - RIP. Died way too young.
Saw this in 86 when it came out, BEST AUDIENCE reaction ever! So memorable, the best!
Haha, damn you were LIVING every moment of this one! Glad you had such a wild time experiencing it.
The beeping sound is straight PTSD flashbacks, from the ps3 AVP game where you play as a marine survivor and just the constant beep of them moving around you but all you have is a flash light and whatever light you have to see.
I always liked that Bishop was the good AI!! One and only!!
In Alien vs Predator Bishop the actor who played him is in it. He was human the robots that followed were in his likenesses
hi wd , just subscribed." the thing " (1982) is the other must see horror of that time . blade runner (1982) is a sci fi masterpiece . terminator 1 and 2 , and predator are all top tier sci fi from the 80's. lord of the rings trilogy from the 2000's is a masterpiece
gotcha coming soon and we already have lord of the Rings on the channel
Bishop the android and col. Hicks are both in terminator 1 ,Vazquez is in t2, hicks it one of the main 3 characters in T1 also major you might remember hicks he played johnny Ringo in tombstone
The super-tough Marine, Private Vasquez? She was the Irish mother with the 2 wee ones in Titanic. Like 3 other actors in this film, you'll see her in The Terminator movies, too. (She in particular is also in Lethal Weapon 2 and Star Trek VII.) Another of the Marines was one of the bad guys in The Shawshank Redemption.
The young guy you recognized first (Paul Reiser) is best known for starring with Helen Hunt on Mad About You for 8 seasons. Carter Burke was so hated that, at the premiere, Reiser's sister hit him, and his mother whispered "Yes!" when Burke was killed.
Now that you've seen this movie, consider Jennifer Lawrence's claim that she was the first female action hero.
Vasquez was in titanic too. She had a minor role as the Irish mom who read her kids a bedtime story as the ship sank
Bill Paxton(R.I.P.) was the best at entertainingly portraying an obnoxious jerk. He also does it in The Terminator, Near Dark, Predator 2, and The Edge Of Tomorrow. He wasn't limited to that, but he was great.
Another person that have come to realize this is one of the best films ever made in movie history! Welcome to the Alien club, brother! Aliens is pure adrenaline & you sure expressed it!
bishop is a true rider
In a deleted scene, Ripley finds Burke cocooned like the people, he asks her to help and she gives him a grenade (like the one Gorman used in the vent)
Alien= one alien…. Aliens= plural, more than one alien.
Alien 3 = 3rd type of alien
Jenette Goldstein, who played Vasquez, was also in Titanic although you probably wouldn't recognize her. She was an Irish mother singing her children to sleep as they were trapped below decks while the ship sank. You will also meet her again, and not recognize her when you start the Terminator movies. To avoid spoilers and at the same time put up at big flashy sign with arrows pointing at her, i will only sat this: she is a foster mother.
Yes it's more action but it's still very much horror the marines get picked off one by one love Ripley's character progression this is my favorite alien film.
I've been watching a lot of Aliens reaction videos lately, and I love your energy when watching.
17:27 Gorman was picked because as an experience officer he would be easier to be controlled by company man Burke.
Him being there isn’t an accident.
The man that played Sergeant Apone was the first black Marine to be field promoted to sergeant in Vietnam.
This movie was also an analogy for how the war in Vietnam went for the US.
"Aliens" was my first experience with the series when I was a kid. And I also agree that while "Alien" is iconic and revolutionary, I like "Aliens" much more.
This was such a great reaction, you go so into it. Loooooved this.
love the energy you bring in your reactions, always fun to watch your videos. This one is definitely my favorite of the series, and since you're doing the whole series and seem to be doing the special editions be warned the special edition of 3 uses alot of alternative scenes not just cut down scenes being added back in so its a bit different viewing experience depending on which one you watch. most people I know prefer the theatrical version of 3, but which ever one you go with im sure your reaction will be fun to watch.
Let's go!! I'm pumped.
All Gorman had to do was tell them WHY they couldn't use their ammo. Then the rest of the movie wouldn't have happened.
I’ve been waiting with baited breath for this video… so excited (you may want to stop here there’s a quality drop off after this film by… a lot.. bigger then LotR v Hobbit)
And I’ll defend the door thing. James Cameron actually addressed this cause of the debate. He took two people in water and they did things to simulate the hypothermic conditions, being pulled down by the ship, the fighting with the guy and the swim to the door. By then neither participant could think and barely could do anything physically. He proved himself right. Myth haters doesn’t address the hypothermia effects on the body plus they had the foresight to think of how to increase the buoyancy, something Jack and rose didn’t have (or two life jackets)
James Bond are great movies. Even if they’re old it doesn’t take away from how great they are.
There’s an interesting backstory as to why the Derelict Alien Ship stopped broadcasting the signal, what the Company knew, and interesting geological and weather factors that prevented the colonist settlers from finding the Alien spacecraft sooner.
There is an alien book that explains the missing 57 years.
What’s it called?
1. Michael Biehn/Hicks played Reese in Terminator as did Bishop/Lance Henriksen as the assistant police chief.
2. Am I the only one thinking that maybe they're so cheap that they sent her back out hoping she isn't going to collect her back pay. 57 years is a shitload of Benjamins. They totally screwed her.
3. Bill Paxton RIP Bill😇 He was Chet in "Weird Science". Much of his dialog is ad-lib.
4. Possibly the best dialogue in the movie: Hudson, "Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man?"
Vasquez, : "No have you?"🤣
5. IRL Paul Riser's mom during a preview viewing actually stood up and cheered when his character Burke got his.
6. Carrie Henn/Newt after this movie her nickname became SCREAM.
7. Mom VS Mom. Don't piss off momma🤬🤬
FWIW "Terminator II Judgment Day" is the best sequal.
James Cameron’s pitch to the studio to get this green lit was simply…. Alien$.
Major you are my FAVORITE reactor and I watch all your videos. You are so observant, have JOKES, and pay attention to details other do not catch. Ignore comments to stop talking so much cause you don’t miss much IMO. You have so many good reactions including Game of Thrones, Back to the Future, Marvel movies, too many to name but this reaction had ME hyped! 💪🏾 I was right there with you watching this like it was my first time. Keep it up cause your channel is so good! I suggest the Terminator Series (even the bad ones) Avatar 1 & 2. I have many more suggestions but those I would really enjoy watching with you. Stay blessed! 😊
Yep same dude from Stranger Things. I can't remember the episode, but Stranger Things actually threw in a ton of Easter eggs and Aliens references.
When James Cameron showed the ruff cut to a friend, his friend described this as "two and a half hours of bad road,"
James Cameron made two of the best sequels in the history of film T2 and aliens
RE: How the colonists didn't find, they were stuck indoors for at least a decade while the atmosphere converters started making the place liveable. Then Carter Burke sent a message to the "Mom 'n' Pop" explorers with the location of the crashed alien ship. The colonists hadn't been running around at all, much less in the right area of the planet. As for the signal from the first movie, they turned that off.
The ALIEN trilogy are my favorite movies of ALL time. I've watched them dozens of times. Ranking them in order I like them as release order, but I do like ALIEN3. A lot of people don't like it cause its very different from the others, but I like it quite a bit.
Best sequel ever?? Hell, this movie stands up alone by itself! One of my favorite movies - great review Major!
"Drake! We. Are. LEAVING!" 😂 Best line ever.
Major as someone who also had seen scream 2 before aliens I was NOT disappointed this def was better than the original
My favorite movie of all time and your review made it better bro. Subbed.
From the first film, the 'company' has always wanted these xenomorphs.!
Love this reaction! This is one of my all time fav movies.
Absolute FIRE! I always been on team Ripley instead of Conner, but the 80's if nothing else were jam packed with absolute BANGERS as you put it. This is still my favorite of the Alien series, but they all hold a place to appreciate the earlier one's that came before and after; especially once they introduce the connected universe of the Predator franchise as well.
For more 80's hits, you should definitely check out the Highlander movie and 1982s Blade Runner.
Glad you enjoyed this and are getting into older movies. Classics are classics for a reason. Funnily enough before Lord of the Rings and other adaptations of classic books became more popular I used to get teased for reading classic books back in the 90s as a kid. Also used to rent old black and white films like Abbott and Costello from Blockbuster XD If you like comedy and want to watch some films that are from the Silver Screen era I'd suggest those.
But if you're on an 80s kick here are my suggestions:
Big Trouble in Little China (my favorite Kurt Russell film)
Beetlejuice (Tim Burton, nuff said)
The Secret of Nimh (animated, dark - no one ever reviews this one)
And if u also find the 90s old and haven't checked ish out from there might I suggest:
A League of Their Own (sports/ Geena Davis - the QUEEN)
Cutthroat Island (pirates pre-Pirates of the Caribbean and MORE Geena Davis)
Count of Monte Cristo (technically 2002 but a good one for sure!)
For stuff similar to the Aliens franchise check out Predator and Terminator. Happy viewing dude! 🤟
Lance Henrikson (Bishop) was in Detroit Become Human, he played Karl. The wheelchair bound old guy Marcus took care of
11:00 That's Bill Paxton. Legendary actor R.I.P. Bill
Ripley (Sigorney Weaver) is also in Ghostbusters. Great movie as well.
Cool story: The actor that plays Burke went to the premier with his mom. And his performance so sleazy and slimy. When his character died, his mom stood up and started cheering. So... good acting, I guess.
Thanks for sharing your reaction to one of my favorite movies. Three of this film's actors are in another good film; "Near Dark." Three are also in "The Terminator."
Vasquez was also in Titanic. She was the redheaded Irish mother that put her kids to bed as the ship sank. She isn't actually Latina. Cameron likes to recycle actors. That's why Hicks, Hudson and Bishop are in Terminator and Vasquez is in Terminator 2.
12:12, Gorman is not a general he is a lieutenant and very green one at that. He is a very low ranking officer.
Just so you know a high ranking officer like a general would not be out on the front line of a situation with such a small group in attendance.
Aliens is one of the best sequels of all time and ever made in movie history, and I hope you would consider watching Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Sopranos, Succession, and The Godfather Trilogy at some point
Seen Breaking Bad already and The Succession but I'm down for the Sopranos
@@MajorReacts there’s no “The” with Succession
@@MajorReacts and I also hope you would consider watching HBO’s Rome as well
@@MajorReacts Sopranos is an amazing experience, mostly due to realism and the actors involved. Great performances all around and a banger of an ending in my opinion, even if it is kinda controversial for some. The only downside is that its a hell lot of episodes. But I enjoyed it a lot and have fond memories, definitely one of HBO's best series to date. With that said, the Godfather trilogy is even more of a must-see. HBO's Rome is also amazing and much shorter in length. Perfection for what it achieves to show, the period etc.
Dude!... You haven't watched Terminator franchise yet?!?!?!... The best action movie ever? (Terminator 2).... You have to start ASAP!
BTW. I am very happy that you watched the director cut version... I like this one even more that the theatrical version.
For sure it's coming soon I got you
The knife/finger scene was improvised and real. It was only supposed to be the guy but they added the other guy to it. The whole crew knew about it besides the guy he did it too and his reaction was real
I laughed so hard at this reaction. Fun fact: Vasquez is in T2. Let’s see if you can find her in the movie! Another banger reaction!!
When you watch Alien 3 make sure to react to the Assembly cut not the theatrical version, much better!
Aliens might be the best sequel but it's also possibly the best sci-fi ever made
Alien is my personal favourite, but it's easy to see why Aliens is generally more popular. It's just a thrill ride from beginning to end, whereas the original is more suited to those that like an atmospheric slow burner. It doesn't matter which is better though, because we get two of the greatest sci fi movies ever made. Everyone wins!
Ok, so I really enjoyed watching you watch this. Aliens is 1 of my favourite films.
Hi there, I am writing from Argentina . English is not my first language, so I hope I can be undestood. I have bien watching your movie reactions for a while, I love them, but I have to admite that this one was the best. Aliens is one of my favorite movies, and your reaction is priceless😊.😊Go on with you channel, best of luck😊
Hey major fam ❤
They didn't know which side of the planets the eggs were at. Not until Ripley gave everyone the load down and they called her crazy basically. But Burk Sent Newt and her family out to the ship without warning. So, the planet is bigger and for 57 years they have been building on the Location they were at, but they didn't have the exact location of where the eggs were at.
If you're curious like I was, Go to Alien Theory here on UA-cam, he does videos off of the comic books and the stuff that the movies left out. He explains gaps. I learned a lot from him. So, please take a look if you're curious or if anyone is interested check it out after this video. There's a video called Newts tale and it explains how she survived before Ripley and the solders found her and what they all were doing at the station and them studying the face huggers.
Oh the actor playing Drake was in the beginning of Ahsoka as the Republic Captain
This is the best and one of my favorite movies of ALLL TIME
Yaaaaaaasssss! You watched the superior director's cut!!!
It's great that you're looking at old movies. I also found out that there have been great movies in basically every decade since they started making movies. Casablanca and Citizen Cane are both amazing :)
If you like these A class 80s action with great effects and gets you in the feels, check out any of Paul Verhoven's three pinnacle sci fi flicks. Its hard to pick a favorite. I'm particular to Total Recall, staring Arnold Schwarzenegger. But Robo Cop and Starship Troopers are also both extremely top notch. Going by your reaction to Aliens, I can absolutely guarantee you'll love Paul Verhoven's movies
Yeah, this is a good movie and its show down is badass.
GREAT REACTION!
This the GOAT reaction to this movie.
Recommendation for a realllly good older movie (1976) - 'Network'. Won 4 Academy Awards and was nominated for 9, just an amazing film. Incredible script, direction, and performances. One of those rare movies that will leave you mindblown for a while afterward trying to process what you've just seen (and trying to understand how a movie from the mid 1970s so accurately described what modern media and culture have become).
Ellen Ripley was my childhood heroine, such a friggin badass.
Good move watching the special edition. So much better than the theatrical release, IMO. One of my all time favorite movies--still holds up today.
