Thank you bro !!
Your a Genius
😂😂
Thank you
Thanks
Every 2007-2017 windshield wiper motor control arms break at the same place. That plastic compression cap for the passenger side wiper. Mine broke there as well and I am ticked that I had to replace the control arms completely. Mopar does not sell that plastic compression cap.
I did purchase a Jeep universal wiper motor compression cap set that unfortunately did not have the correct size for my 2008 Wrangler. So I had the order the control arm assembly from PartsGeek (they had the lowest price on the internet). I just finished the replacement and it is just that easy.
Keep your old motor, remove the 3 T-30 bolts that mount the motor to the assembly and the nut from the motor shaft and replace. Turn the key and cycle the motor once to make sure it works and sets the position to install the wipers. Then put everything back together and you are done.
Hope this helps and thanks for the video on replacing that motor and control arm assembly.
Bought those bushings at Auto Zone, part number49447. Changed the bushing out carefully and replaced the whole assembly back into the Jeep.
Have an 08 2 door Wrangler soft top. Passenger side wiper stopped working. Found your post. Lifesaver man. Replaced whole system like you did. Thank you.
Awesome 👏🏻
I did replace the whole thing but while I was waiting for the part I had to rig the old ones. I taped into the metal knob then thread a small bolt with washers from the outside to hold them together.
Thanks for the tip on wiggling, exactly the right move.
How do you reset the wipers if you just replaced assembly and kept the motor?
I have a 2015 JKU and just about every bolt or nut is in millimeters. I used a 13 mm socket to remove the wiper arm nuts. But, showing how to get the arms off when they were acting like they were seized up did help!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, super easy instruction to do.
THANK YOU AGAIN BRO
I have the same problem thanks for making the video.
Nicely done, thank you.
Exactly what I needed to see. Thanks!
Thanks so much, this video really helped
Nice video, great tips, I have the same issue and need to also make this repair
Steve Carter thanks man. Glad it helped.
Great info...thank you!
Nice! Now that I know how to open it up. I have to figure out why the wipers arent moving and why the motor is making a grinding noise...
CoolDad it’s definitely the motor I’m bettering. 👍🏻
My man! Saved the day.
Thank you for great video. Replaced ours with the original Mopar Windshield Wiper assembly (55077859) on our 2008 Jeep Wrangler. Went on perfect.
Well done. Thanks.
Dam bud fantastic 👏 video on the explanation to fix my problem stupid snow lol you man I liked and subscribed
My wipers just started to go halfway and stop,at least I now no how to take it apart and see what's happening, thanks.
Hey i just replaced the wiper assembly on my 08 wrangler but now the wipers don't stop in the right position? How do I adjust so they stop in the right spot?
Take wiper arms off and reposition arm assembly into correct position and the reinstall. Should work properly then.
Thanks for posting the video! Whats the part number for the wiper assembly?
Charles Eline thanks for watching and I’m glad it was useful for you. Honestly I got my new assembly from a jeep junk yard here locally. It was like $40, so check them out first because it can run over $120 retail. Hope that helps 👍🏻
Charles Eline re
I ordered a new assembly for my jeep. Are the black nobs that goes inside the windshield wiper arm supposed to be loose? On my old one they are tight.
They are tight.. I loosened them up for the video sake.. 👍🏻
@@White_Trash_JKU thanks! I think my motor is going bad now. I guess I will have to order a new motor.
This video was helpful...I replaced and put everything back together but the wipers will stop in the middle of the windshield...how do I fix? I’m going to try the position your replacement was in when I have time...but I would like your input.
Ok, so you want to make sure your wiper arm motor is in off position with arms down next to hood. If not in right position the off position will actually be the middle of windshield when you turn off. So yes make sure to have everything in the same position as in video and it should work properly. Hope that helps
Also make sure the grooves in wiper arms where bolt to wiper motor are in proper slots..👍🏻 any more questions please let me know
My motor just went out of my 2017 Rubicon, 20 days out of warranty with 19400 miles on it, and the dealership would not take care of it. really ticked me off.
Well i tried in my jeep 2011 and i couldn't open the arm... could you please help me to open both arms
What do you mean by opening the arms? On wiper arms you fold them away from windshield and wiggle them back and forth (how hard depends on corrosion level and may need spray lube) and they should pop loose like in video. Folding them away from windshield releases tension
Wiper arm broke loose....."Only in a Jeep".
You sound like Grant Cardone
🤣
Dude! You really need to buy a tripod. You are making me seasick. I can't watch.
This is an old video and I’ve acquired a tripod since then 😂😂
Horrible sound quality
Temporary living situation while I was moving and it was next to the highway.. I’m in a peaceful setting now.. lol.. Thanks for the feedback 👍🏻
