I Made a Mini Workbench for Woodworking - Part 1

- I recently decided to build a small workbench for my DIY workshop, and I planned to put it on the balcony of my apartment, 11 floors up! I'm calling this my "Sky Workshop"..
I took the best workbench ideas from a few different designs and adapted them to what I needed. I based it mostly on the Sjorbergs series but made it compact. You can get more inspiration for classic workbenches here: ettowoodworking.com/best-wood...
This second workbench will be for fine woodworking, assemble and finishing of my projects. Now I am not limited to woodworking only on the weekends. I will be making a tool cabinet to fit into this woodworking bench soon, subscribe to get notified.
I used a small Irwin woodworking vise in the project: amzn.to/3pjni3N
I also used reclaimed Southern Yellow Pine and Acacia, an interesting wood native to Australia and Asia. The table was bolted to the wall, it would have been useless otherwise.

Nice build! It’s always interesting seeing what people do for their own mini workbenches.
Love the "Charlie Brown" style music haha. Nice small scale bench that is seems surprisingly stable when hand planing. This size might be just the ticket for my needs.

Excellent video and process. I noticed your long clamps resemble my Harbor Freight clamps. Paul Sellers recommended filling the center of this type of clamp with a milled 1x2in piece of wood. I followed Paul's advice in the past four years I have enjoyed sturdy long clamps at a fraction of the cost of the quality equivalents. Check out it out.

You’re one of the only folks on youtube (it seems) who has the exact same planer/jointer combo that i want to buy. How has that been working for you so far? (Also, judging by the skyscraper scene at the very end of the video, i’m going to guess that you’re Malaysian?)
Yes indeed I am Malaysian and that combo planer / jointer is the only model available here. So far it has worked out well but I also bought 5 additional blades. The replacement blades seem to cut much better. You also need to do a lot of adjustment for the snipe issue.
@@ettowoodworking yeah, we dont have a ton of choices for good quality jointer here locally, unfortunately. I appreciate the feedback and Thanks for the overview on the jointer/planer! I bet if you did a video review on it, a lot of people (including myself) would be very interested!
