Thanks for posting this! My aunty was a secretary at Warner Brothers in the 1940's and was recruited by Bette Davis to be a Canteen Hostess. My aunty was VERY glamourous and beautiful! She had very fond memories of The Hollywood Canteen and enjoyed her time there. Thanks again for posting this!

Love this video. Have watched it before but enjoyed watching it again.
Bette Davis and John Garfield are two of my favourite actors.
I have the movie "Hollywood Canteen" and it is wonderful to watch.
Yes! there definitely should be a plaque. It's a piece of Hollywood history!!
I wish that a lot of these old places had been protected and landmarked.
Such a shame to not appreciate the beautiful
    Houses and buildings.
Thanks Jordan it was a fun video.
    All the best.
Jah is the cutest dog ever!!

This guy is so cute. His youth and enthusiasm are infectious. Love his crisp and clear voice, enthusiasm I said that already), his love of Jah (little doggie), movie history. I love the way these videos are filmed. I feel like I'm there! My friend lives in California, south. We visited Los Angeles, Hollywood but now I have ideas of where I want to go thanks to this man next time I go to Cali. (in May maybe?).

Have always loved the fact that the stars were willing to give their time to our servicemen like they did. Also the movie "Hollywood Canteen" is just a dream-come-true movie for that sweet little soldier Robert Hutton played! Love it! Great vlog, Jordan! Janey

I found a small photo album of my dad's. He passed in 1989. On the front of the album it said Hollywood Canteen. I googled it found it's location and some history on it. My dad had some family pictures and some military pictures I am assuming buddies. I had a feeling you would have something on it with Bette Davis and John Garfield and numerous other Hollywood stars being involved. Thank you.

Good stuff in the 80's Gelson was Mayfair and I met Wayne Knight of Seinfeld there and in the late 70's I use to play Basketball and was friend with Ernest Harden Jr. at West Hollywood Park who co-starred in White Mama in 1980 with Betty Davis. Across the street from CNN Jack in the Box Met Larry King. Graduated Fairfax High in 77 so every place you go was my stomping ground and makes me homesick.

Jordan, I love your videos, but I have a little constructive comment to make.
Someone whose opinion I respect told me that the site of the Hollywood Canteen was on what is now the 4-story garage just SOUTH of the CNN building (or just to the LEFT of the CNN Building in the shot you hold on.)
Now, perhaps that garage was the Canteen's entrance, and the actual Canteen's room(s) extended NORTH all the way to Sunset Blvd., so that would make the CNN building still part of the old Canteen site. An L.A. Historical Society official or member would give you a definitive answer, and put all to this to rest, of course.
