This game is very interesting mechanically. It almost has elements of an engine builder. Most engine builders, however, are very concerned with permanence: build up your board, get more abilities, buy continuous upgrades. This is the opposite: everything you own is ephemeral. You can't become attached to any of your tools. I love a good anime game, or a western fantasy style. But I also appreciate that the art here is different. It's visually interesting, which is the most one can ask of art. I'd give this game a solid 7-7.5. There's some slightly ambiguous rules and terminology throughout. And the "combo" mechanic didn't come up in the game I played: it was more a matter of who could chuck faster and harder. But it still ahs some great gameplay ideas, and presents the player with a lot of options.
Just picked this up from pax. I actually really liked the art! It reminds me of mid 2000s web comics. 😂 as a lover of deckbuilders, the gameplay seemed really solid, and i will enjoy trying to break it and develop a meta with my friends.
A 4 that’s like saying it’s terrible. I think the art is different which makes it unique and good. I’m one of the people that love seeing wacky cartoon art in games. Not the ultra boring photo art in ark nova . Btw fort was a no go at my house. Star realms on the other hand is good. Not sure I would get this game though in a sea of other games
My my that art is hideous. I'm starting to think Tom is messing with Jeff, sending all the 'garbage' to him. But that's our blessing, since we get to enjoy fun reviews! Jeff is the only contributor whose vids I watch w/o skipping anything. No matter how ugly or uninteresting the game is. Cheers, Jeff!
Another great video, Jeff, even if it’s not the best game. I’d like to see you get some games to review that don’t seem like they’re the games nobody else wants to review. I’d also love to see a top 100 games video from you someday! 😊
I've got to agree on this point. It is at the point now where I give Jeff's videos the same weight as the main dice tower team. Excellent reviews and I'd love to see him utilized more.
The argument is always that you can overlook an ugly game if it's great. Why should you have to? You simply can't own every great game. Even the Dice Tower Library doesn't have every great game. This could be the greatest game of all time, but I would still be embarrassed to introduce it to anyone. I couldn't even watch the video all the way through!

Another great review Jeff. Are you also getting a top 100 list? If not..tell Tom to MAKE IT HAPPEN!
I am not. I welcome you to make those recommendations to the powers...or power...that be... :)
i liked the art☺️☺️ and your reviews! 😎😎
Played this awhile back and really enjoyed it. As you said though, needs a few tweaks here and there to make it a solid game.

4 is a playable game that you don't want to play or enjoy playing. A 2 is terrible/doesn't work.
The art and font made me wanna go play HOL or Human Occupied Landfill.
Great review, Jeff! What would you rate it if it wasn't so ugly?
Good question. Probably a 6.

Well I'm glad how ugly *I* am isn't a factor, either! 😆 Thank you for the kind words!
Always enjoy your reviews Jeff, no matter how bad the game is. 😉 And always look forward to your next review.

You're welcome to pitch the top-100 idea to the boss-man. ;)

@blueline5499 thanks so much. I've been a tad busy lately but 2 new videos are in the cue!
