Love watching you, since I stumbled onto your Chanel. I used to love to go window shopping. Now that I am 82 and have trouble walking and no transportation. I’m so glad to find you. I enjoy watching you shop. Now the same, but very enjoyable. Sometimes I see something I think I would like, I yell at you to stop, but you don’t. Then I remember you can’t theater me. Thank you for making it fun for me. Keep buying. 🌷🌹💐😍❤️🌷💕
Lizzie Girl do you think they didn’t come with lids? Kind of weird that they’re all missing. And I’m thinking that maybe in some households things like tea, rice, grains you wouldn’t have lids
It's a sure sign of spring when Sue transitions from her black fur trimmed swing jacket (that I absolutely LOVE) to her scarf/shawl. Thanks for taking me shopping with you. Too funny about the remnants of the "unity aid" sticker on the silver planter/bowl! I look forward to more fun and games tomorrow.
I’m so jealous, there is always nothing but crap at our local Goodwill’s. Don’t understand why some are filled with such gems and others have nothing but garbage, UGG. Must be a combination between management and the area in which the store is located.
OMG! That Julien Celos watercolor?! Dang Jocelyn what a score! I so would have freaked out and had the Thrifting Sweats (the sweats you get when you can't believe you found something so good and it is super cheap)!
@@CrazyLampLady Right! So cool. I had the sweats when I found a vintage Tretchikoff print in the wild the other day. It's big, framed and cost only $15. She's mine!! I'm still excited.
I watch ur channel regularly and love ur knowledge and style..I love love when u bring ur bestie along on ur thrifting trips..she makes me laugh and just has her own style..I would love to see her more often!!
Loved that Julien Celos piece. What a score! Also loved the fact you found so many things and Sue made a real haul too! The Cat, oh the Cat! He is Feline Groovy! This last week I had one of the GW folks tell me, "No real antiques make it onto the floor from our store." Who was I too correct them?! I just smiled as I put, (what I was sure), was an antique oil painting of Dutch sailing ships coming into a harbor, into my cart. After I got it home I removed the paper covering the back and there was a paper label stuck to the paintings frame. The original frame surrounding the painting had been replaced, and a cheap one from the 70's - 80's put on it. The framer papered over the back, thus obscuring the old framing label. The painting is unsigned but that label was put on by a framer that was only in business in Portland, Oregon between the years 1890-1911. Meaning the painting cannot date any later than 1911, making it over one hundred years old. I was just jumping up and down with glee! I paid $12.99 and was delighted to do so. Now I have the perfect painting to go over my t.v. in my living room. YAY!
I like the canisters, and would use them for flowers 💐 I love the videos where you go shopping with Sue,you two are the best team, sometimes I skip the other videos but never the videos with you and Sue ❤️
I had that cat and another matching they were different heights! I purchased them new at pier one probably in 2011! I believe they were around $65 each! You got a steal on those!
Amazing finds at Goodwill! Love, love, love the turquoise canisters. They would make great utensil holders. I love the covered casseroles, too, so beautiful. Your goodwill is amazing.
Jocelyn, from what I could see, i believe the artwork is a hand colored etching signed by the artist. Usually artists sign their peices in the image. Plus, the edge looks to be where the etching plate stamped it. It could still be very valuable but I didn't want you to list it as an original painting by mistake 😊
My understanding is that he did both watercolors and hand colored etchings. This piece has texture, so I suspect it is a hand colored etching. I’m planning to post a picture on Instagram at some point.
I love those covered dishes! I use them to hide very practical items in plain sight: one on my kitchen counter for dishwasher detergent pods, and one in my laundry room for laundry detergent pods. The pods are worth it to me because my husband is more apt to start a load of dishes or laundry if he doesn't have to deal with goopy detergent!
Oh, man - great haul! You got some beautiful things. I love that painting and the Limoges plates. That luster bowl with the flowers inside is so unusual and pretty as well.
Hellooo. Now I'm reading comments while the adds play...I used to skip them. Then I realized it's the adds that make the cash for J. So. I enjoy her so much.
I would have bought those canisters, too! I, personally, would make lids out of cork :) Thick cork, with a thinner cork square underneath that would just fit inside the opening, maybe with some of those little round door handles for knobs. Or even antique porcelain cabinet pulls! Also - I love seeing that Hungry Parrot Pizza sign, when you go to that particular Goodwill! lol. Makes me hungry for pizza!
@@CrazyLampLady I have to tell u this story, I was at my Goodwill yesterday looking around, I caught myself looking at stuff I've never been much interested in before like glass, everything u point out an grab in your videos kept catching my eye. I know there was vintage pieces in these creations that were worth tons if only they weren't ruined with glue. An Sue would of been in Japan heaven, I'm convinced with other items I seen throughout the store like a rice cooker, items with Japan instructions, an beautiful glass, someone's Japanese grandma passed away. Ok back to today's vid..Happy thrifting chica!
I’ve never been crazy for Chinese items but that elephant is adorable! I also love that little HP pottery with the firing crack. I think it’s worth the risk to buy it! It’s beautiful. The wooden kitty is amazing!!
Been watching your videos since March of last year. So nice to see all your hard work pay off. Don't change a thing! Thank you for the joy and happiness that you and Andrew and Sue bring to so many each day!! ❤️
I know the canisters without lids are already listed. But there are some silicone/plastic lids out there in beautiful designs, usually flowers, that do a suction seal on top of all kinds of jars, containers, etc. They come in all different sizes too. I have sunflowers. They even make one that fits in a wine bottle to keep fresh. If anyone is interested I can try and find out the name.
I know what you are talking about. Bed Bath & Beyond carries them. If you have a pot or skillet that doesn't have a lid, they come in multiple sizes. As she said it works on glass too.
I have one of those gray vases that's what that is my daughter sent me one when I lived in Pennsylvania for Mother's Day 1 Year and have flowers in it and had like that green stuff Square glued to the bottom of it but it was nice I cleaned it up and made a little fruit staying out of it and set it in the middle of my table cuz my table was small but I haven't seen one of those in years and that's from the 90s the 90s are the 80s
You can insert zip lock bags in the canisters and put your coffee, tea, sugar, barley, etc in the bag and close them securely. Then push the closed bags down in the canisters and you won't need a lid, they will be usable and if placed a little above eye level, no one will even notice there is no lid.
Those canisters.. super cute! I would just put your sugar and things in clear bags and use a twist tie.. then you can make tops for them by using thick paper and making an origami box-turning it upside down and use it as a lid!:)
Astrid is a beautiful name. There are many things in Belgium named "Astrid" which seems odd since it is a Danish name. One of the most popular queens and members of royalty was Queen Astrid who married the heir to the Belgium throne. She died tragically young in a car accident in Switzerland, leaving young children. She was a wonderful mother, who was very hands on...and is popular to this day.
