My apologies, new to the channel... the Afghans: Drew's stripey afghan is crochet, but it's not a scrap-ghan; those color stripes were planned and the blotchy section- the yarn is dyed that way. The Simple Block afghan is comprised of Knitted Teal Blocks in the garter stitch, with a Lacey edge, but I couldn't see enough to determine if the lace was crocheted or knitted. Jocelyn's striped afghan was a crocheted scrap-ghan. The Indian Pottery is NOT navajo, but Pueblo. They do make it by hand, but it is mass produced to sell to support themselves. We saw tons of that in Albuqerque. Kudos to Drew for taking an interest in learning the business; not all men would do that.
Unfortunately Royal Haeger is dead as dead around here. Very easy to find at thrift stores for $4-$5 (even some rarer pieces) Not so easy to flip. I have had several pieces on FBMP FOREVER.
Carjamrac me too! Their videos are very informative. I’m interested in uranium glass that I’ve learned from these videos, she may have caused me to want to collect them, and I don’t collect anything, my house is clean slate because I don’t want the labor of dusting figurines.
@Connie Miller if you like uranium glass you may want to check out Bargain Barons. They like and collect it as well. They are a young couple much like Jocelyn and Andrew that shop mainly Yard and Estate sales with their black light so they can be sure they are getting the real stuff. They don't find it every episode but they do buy it when they find it.
Ivonne Aleman Good Will employees always scorn with a jealous hateful look when you buy a bit around me. Customers means $, means job security per se. They were not good choices for hiring. They don’t want to work when they act bitter at working there.
@@friedaschnell6887 that and I think one reason that they are allowed to act that way is because help is hard to keep. The thinking is better a snarky employee than no employee and manager has to work 16 hours every day.
I'm a Lancastrian, and we have several Goodwill stores, a Salvation Army store, and a Community Aid. Plus several independent thrift stores. Come back!
Tamasin Sterner I’m from Wisconsin and should come there on vacation!! It’d be perfect for me. I’d have to tell my husband I was going gambling in Atlantic City. At least that he’d understand. 😂
Loved that you picked up the dollar store vase and said, “pretend that did not just happen”. Lol! I’ve done that many times! Those dollar stores are starting to come out with some pretty pieces. And Andrew cracked me up, eating the turtle stomach! 🤣
Made my daughter in law an afghan for Christmas. A little over $60.00 for yarn and then the countless hours of crochet stitches. Pulling out and re crocheting any mistake to make it perfect. Then there is the carpal tunnel I wear a brace for at night. If she EVER sends it to GW for it to be sold for $4.00 I will explode.
Oh my gosh! Watching this older video brought back memories of when I first started thrifting. The intro music, your fabulous hair and the kids were so little. Thank you for this video. It's now Sept. 2023 😆
Love the new giant Goodwill! I'm with Andrew on the cut glass---it's gorgeous, cheap---you can find amazingly beautiful bowls, platters, etc...I picked myself up a gorgeous example for a fruit bowl in my own home. Screw retail! Anyway, my real point being---if You and Andrew decided to, I bet you could bring back value on such items. You have that power now. If CLL thinks it's COOL...then the tides of others will follow in your wake.
You are so sweet. I am 78 years old and learn a lot from you. I try to go to Goodwill twice a month with my daughter. I now look at all the markings and have gotten a few really nice pieces. I buy them for my own enjoyment.
Omg a great haul. I love the items you pick out and tend to gravitate towards the same however, I have to tell you I also love the diversity that Andrew brings in his picks as well. You both have excellent taste. ❤️
You really need great people skills to work with the public. I know because I worked in the office field of the medical profession for almost 30 years and no matter how you were talked to or treated by sick or upset family and patients you had to maintain a calming, positive, helpful attitutude. Then go to the bathroom, jump up and down and scream (under your breath). 😉
They should have no issue with what you buy and how much. They set the prices and your giving them the money.Your not low balling them or asking for a discount. Its better that you buy things than to have them end up in the land fills.ugh some people
At Trader Joe's the cashier's always ask, "How is your day going so far?"..and no matter if I'm feeling sleepy or tired, this always makes me feel better, because they're not assuming how I'm feeling, they're asking me to tell them. I use this question whenever I'm at the store or at the drive thru and it makes such a difference, it usually brings out a smile! !
You two crack me up. Watching your banter as I tinker in my shop painting for resell keeps me in a good mood. Thank you for sharing all the thrusting & hauls, especially liking these “mystery boxes”. All the best!

That's annoying! But most of the time you can get sharpie markers off with dry erase markers. Scribble on top of the sharpie and usually it will erase the sharpie then wipe off the dry erase marker. Doesn't work for everything, but worth a try.🙂
I recently moved away from Pennsylvania and watching your video made me homesick and miss all the great thrift stores in PA. Thanks for the video. I am now your newest follower.

Good morning everyone!! ☕️ The flute. I cringed a little when you picked it up, but you definitely read my mind. The ultimate ‘make mom crazy toy’. Oh mannnn!! This shop is a gem💎 !! 😄
I have loved thrifting for a very long time. So to watch both you and Andrew is so much fun. Andrew was so comical with the peach doilies and the frog on the platter. Thank you for making my day with some laughter.
I always watch your videos and was watching some of your older ones, this one I loved! First one in Lancaster and Lancaster Brewing Company! My son does the artwork for their beer 🍺 yes I am a proud Mom 😊. Love what you do and enjoy your videos.

Andrew is so sweet. What a great couple you make ❤️. Beautiful Fenton pieces. Some thrift stores have cashiers who hate wrapping breakables. I went to a thrift store & offered to help wrap the breakables & the cashier literally threw a couple of items in the bag and I said, politely, please don’t throw the stuff in the bag or something will break since I have a lot of breakable items. She threw her hands up and said “fine, you do it” and then she just leaned on the back side of the counter with her elbows propped on top of the countertop & just stared at me while I finished wrapping and bagging my stuff. She only gave me one brown bag to load my items. My bag was filled to the top. I called and spoke to her manager and they said the cashier has mental issues, which is sad. I said they need to put her where she doesn’t need to be attending to customers. It was unbelievable.
Jocelyn, you crack me up. You said when it came to stereos and now movies it was "before my time". Lol EVERYTHING you buy is before your time. I'm there with you. Everything I like seems to be before my time as well. 😁

Drew is a fantastic student! My hubby has a different eye than me so he finds things I wouldn't but I wish he would try to absorb all the knowledge that he can like Drew does. That's awesome.
Fantastic haul you have got there. We get the same in the charity shops in the UK, as resellers we have to keep quiet about what we do as there are some that really don't like us to buy from them. You would think their smile should be brighter with every £/$ we spend. Thanks for sharing all you do with us. x
Every time I watch your goodwill videos I want to go to my local goodwill lol anyone else?
yes....
Wish the prices were that good here.
Yes me to
Y’all are such a perfect couple! You compliment each other very well. Your humor is contagious! I laugh every video!

Yes Andrew!!! The Blue Afghan GORGEOUS!!!! Good eye!
Yes, very well made and the fact that someone took the time to sew on a label makes it even better!
Andrew has just come alive , love watching him.
I can't see a hand bell without him singing in my head!
He bloomed like a little flower. 😄
I don’t get why they get upset when you buy a lot . Isn’t that the whole point to sell to use those funds for programs that help others ?
Lazy. You're making them WORK for their pay. 🙄 They'll go far in life.
Ivonne Aleman Good Will employees always scorn with a jealous hateful look when you buy a bit around me. Customers means $, means job security per se. They were not good choices for hiring. They don’t want to work when they act bitter at working there.

Drew, good job picking the blue and beige Afghan. Not Everyone likes bold colors.
Debra Ray I agree! Good job Drew!
I love it too!
May make one now 😂😂😂
That's what I thought. It was simple....neat....and not screaming of circus. More modern and sophisticated.
Loved the afghan Drew. Sometimes fancy is too much.
Yes, love the color!
