Big Brother told David Bowie's ex wife - who was in the house at the time - that Bowie had just died. The idiots inside thought that it was the guy in the house, David Gest.
Gest died only a few months after Bowie so goodness knows what happened then.

The woman who said David is dead, is from when David bowie passed away while she was in the big brother house, so the creators of the show informed her of his passing and she just said it wrong to the other woman not explaining it was her ex husband.
She swore that Angie had said "David Guest" when she clearly didn't.
Would love to see KB react to the whole scene and not this edited version. It was TV gold.

The 'Davids dead' comment, she used to be married to David Bowie, who sadly passed during her stint in Celebrity Big Brother. Unfortunately the other housemates thought she meant David Gest, who was a housemate with them

Yeah, as others have said that is Come Dine With Me. 4/5 strangers who think they can cook well host a dinner party each and give each other points out of 10. It's often hilarious and awkward at the same time. My favourite parts are when the narrator makes sarcastic comments or pokes fun at the contestants.
You have all the grace and decorum of a reversing dumptruck without wheels, is from a show called Come dine with me. Each contestant hosts a dinner party, basically a night of food and drinks at their house and everyone has to vote on who held the best one. Winner gets a cash prize. You would probably like it
You honestly couldn’t write a better comedy scene than the Angie Bowie and Tiffany confusion over which David died. Bare with me while I try to explain some already explained context to it - This aired when David Bowie (who Angie used to be married to) died and Angie had just been told about it on that day. When Angie was told Big Brother asked her if she needed anyone from the big brother house to comfort her. She said yes I’d like David Gest (another fellow American who knew Angie very well and was very popular in U.K. and John Partridge (British actor). So the David in the BB house that Tiffany thought had died was one of the people Angie was closest to and one of the first to be told about Bowie’s death. Also, unfortunately, David Gest actually did die not too long after this series of Celeb Big Brother
The celeb Big Brother 'David's dead' was referring to David Bowie, she is his ex wife and BB just told her in the diary room that he had died. Unfortunate that everyone thought she was talking about David Gest who was sleeping in the bedroom 🤣😂
I just wish that maybe showing a bit more of that clip would've revealed the fact that her husband was David Bowie....so that anyone new watching this could immediately get the 'joke' - because this has got to be one of the funniest examples of talking at cross-purposes EVER 😂 and is Big Brother 'gold'.
Ironically David Gest did end up dying about three months after that incident though!

You actually did need the context. That Lady on Celebrity Big Brother is David Bowie's ex wife and she had just been told by the production team that he had died of cancer and that is who she meant had died. David Guest had gone to bed feeling ill and had to exit the show early for health reason and he died of cancer not long after.

The ahow is split over 4 days and they each take a turn to cook and then judge each other. It might make a reaction if youre able to.

I think, in this case, context is everything. It was eye popping tv in the UK. David Bowie's ex wife being told that David had died and then she told the news but only saying David... It is shocking, funny, and mind blowing as it unravelled. As Liza Minnelli's ex husband David snoozed his way through the drama in the Big Brother bedroom lol

That show is 'Come Dine With Me' in which four contestants take part each hosting the other three at their home and preparing a sit down evening meal for all. The three guests give a mark out of ten and the scores are revealed after the last meal. Though I did not see this episode bad feeling usually arises from one contestant giving unduly low scores to the others in order to win.
The clip around 5:49 was a show called “come dine with me” I still quote to this day “dear lord what a sad little life Jane” 😂😂😂
Another British recommendation good comedy. "The Chief Apologises", programme is Scot Squad from BBC Scotland well worth a watch!
Big brother UK has had it's moments of sheer lunacy when it was still newer.
1. Nick from season 1 getting busted attempting to fix the votes
2. Sandy from season 3 getting bored within a few weeks, pissing in the bin and then climbing out of the house
3. Season 5's infamous fight night when 2 previously evicted housemates got returned after being held in a bedsit where they could spy on everyone and their conversations. The police raided the show live.
4. *anything* relating to Jade Goody in the house in BOTH of her stints.
5. Kinga and the wine bottle.

Holly & Phil at the end had been to an awards do the night before & stayed out all night.. hence going straight to the studio hungover
The show at 4:43 is “come fine with me”, and I’d recommend watching some compilations of this, because the contestants get really angry with each other! It’s funny!

People all host a dinner party and score each other, and end of the week, winner gets a grand. beautiful stuff, theres also a b&b one where they stay at each others places. both well worth a watch. theres a load of them on netflix, if not US, switch vpn to uk

There is a zombie TV show/movie It's 142 minutes (total) that aired alongside one of the season of big brother called Dead Set,
which is set in the big brother house it's basically big brother meets 28 days later & it's the precursor to Black Mirror both are worth a watch
The show with the angry guy is called "Come Dine With Me". Four people go to each others houses where they have a dinner party and they rate each other on how it went and how good the food was. The person with the highest rating then wins the money.
The "David is dead" moment was part of Celebrity Big Brother. The woman who said it was the ex-wife of David Bowie and the production team told her that he'd died. But there was another person in the Big Brother house called David so that's where the confusion came from.
I haven't watched TV since 2001. Programmes like Big Brother are why.
It actually pained me that you stopped the big brother clip and said "i dont need context for this one" before you actually saw the part that gives you context 😂 this was the best big brother series ever btw
TBF to him there isn’t actually anything in the clip that gives context if you’re completely oblivious (would be better if it included her originally being told), but yeah I was so excited when I saw this clip in the thumbnail and then unfortunately boomer, through no fault of his own, got completely the wrong end of the stick 😂
So, as others mentioned, the David that died was David Bowie and not David Gest, who was in the house. After leaving the house, David Gest tried to cash in on it by arranging a tour show called 'The I'm Not Dead Tour', Only for Gest to then drop dead himself a few months later, before the show hit the road
"What a sad little life, Jane" has become such a part of the British consciousness I don't think there's a woman named Jane who hasn't had to endure it over the last decade.
As an edit: the duo of Phil and Holly who deal with Katie Hopkins on children's names and coming into work hammered - they were national treasures for years and have hours of content of them just losing it on air. Sadly, the relationship has been tainted in recent years due to some allegations and evidence of misconduct. Personally I'm of the opinion it's still worth a watch as between the two of them (and Gino D'Campo), they had some of the most iconic losses of composure on live television. There's a reason their chemistry landed them jobs everywhere in the UK, and it's a shame it ended as it did.

I watched big bro from day one I just had my daughter in 2000 and loved the show! The version celeb David is one you deffo need to watch it in context as was sad Davids Ex but absolutely hilarious to watch!!! Come dine is great too!
Hi Boomer, there was a famous British wrestler named Big Daddy in the ‘70’s who’s parents named him Shirley Crabtree as they wanted to make him tough enough to deal with growing up, it worked!

For the "... that was mean..." clip. It's from "Come Dine With Me" as others have said, however some added context to that clip is, the woman who won was very toxic and did everything she could to sabotage his dinner. The results are done on the night of the final dinner (which was his) so its understandable that after having a night of her being so evil to him, he kinda was at the end of wits and a bit angry and bitter when the results then came in that his lost while she won - hence he also finished with telling her to take her money and leave his property.
The Jane having the grace and decorum of a reversing dump truck with no tyres is a show called come dine with me the show runs over the week with each day being in a different person's house, Jane the lady who was being insulted had actually insulted and upset the man who's house was last all week making his outburst karma but easy to take out of context without the backstory. Also the UK version of big brother is brilliant and completely different to the US I'd love to see some more reactions to that

Punch gate was a huge celebrity big brother moment a female actress tried to acuse a male actor of physical assault and tried to ruin his career the whole world watched her fabricate a story to other housemates and they had no idea he thought his life was over and his housemates thought he'd hit a woman all was revealed during a live eviction when the crowd heckled for her to be evicted pretty emotional stuff
David Bowie was the ex husband that died. And Holly Willouby and Philip Schofield were still drunk from the previous night from an awards ceremony they where at.

The end clip was Holly & Phil from ITV's 'This Morning'. It is a breakfast magazine program. They had been to an awards show the night before & had stayed out all night. They are NOT an item. She has a hubby & he has a wife. Whether the stains were mustard or piccalilli, we don't know, but NOTHING has gone on between them 2. He came out a few years ago & declared he is gay.
Holly & Phil don't present it anymore. He was in trouble due to accusations of a relationship he had with a young man while being married to his wife Stephanie. On a separate note, some weird guy had threatened to kidnap & hurt Holly. No I am not joking. If you look up Philip Schofield & Holly Willoughby, you will find out everything in detail.
The David Bowie thing I watched live with my ex I was creased up laughing that was comedy gold not that Bowie died buy that the way they mixed it up in the house was incredible
