  • Nathan Cavaleri was born June 18 ,1982 , in Campbelltown / Sydney, Australia.
At the age of 10, Nathan played the Blues guitar on the level of someone
three times his age. Some of the best guitarists in the world have described him as a prodigy. B.B. King said : "He's the future of the Blues". Mark Knopfler said : "He's unbelievable".
He was known as the "Wonder from Down Under" . But his skills on the guitar were not simply a gift from heaven. He learned the hard way. At the age of 6, he was diagnosed with Leukaemia ALL. The guitar helped him through this painful years. At the age of 9, the Leukaemia was in remission, and Nathan was able to play like no one this age. He signed his first record deal for the CD "Jammin' with the Cats". He also signed for a endorsement deal with Peavey Guitars.
He was not one of these usual shredders, he always played with feeling, taste and restraint.
Nathan Cavaleri mastered the Blues techniques like bending and vibrato, and mixed minor and major pentatonic scales like a professional, so that he was able to play even Jazz tunes !
Robben Ford and Stevie Ray Vaughan had a great influence on him.
Two Blues CD's , recorded between the age of 9 and 11, on this very high professional level, this is unique in music history !
Both albums are a 'must have' for every Blues and Jazz enthusiast !!
I think, this should be unforgotten. That's why i have created this video. Enjoy.

I was learning how to play guitar back in Englands in1992 when i was 9 years old and my Grandparents in Australia sent me Nathan's CD. I was absolutely amazed and he was my idol for many years!

I own both of Nathan's Cd's, and commend you for devoting a channel to his early career! I was delighted to see all the vids you posted. I was lucky enough to meet him on one of his trips to the States..... what a wonderful, friendly kid! He gave me a copy of "Jammin..." and signed the poster inside with a nice personal message..... it's framed and hanging in my music room to this day. Good on ya, man!

I have both albums. First saw him on the Arsenio Hall show and was blown away by how mature his playing was. Not your typical young gun playing the blues. Very original and thoughtful in his playing. There was talk of an album with Mark KnoPfler, any idea if that ever happened. I have followed him through Dirty Skanks to Nat Col and the Kings. Loved all of it.

I have both of these albums, and saw him in New York the night after the Conan O'Brien TV appearance. The gig was filmed by a professional crew, but as far as I know the footage has never surfaced. I asked one of the crew, and they said they were filming for the show 60 Minutes.
It's a pity he hasn't been able to spin his childhood stardom into much of an adult career.

I have this cd unfortunately the signed inner poster from when I met him at Westfield is lost to time. Nath inspired me to pick up the guitar at the same age, although at 37 I'm still not as good as he was at 10!
