    For everyone that’s confused by the title: car sold for $44mil + auction house fee (usually 10% of the final bid) which is $4.4mil = $48.4mil

    • @SocietyofSupercars
      @SocietyofSupercars  6 років тому +38

      The total purchase price for this 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO was $48,000,000. This includes both the final bid price ($44M) in addition to the buyer auction premium fees that go with it (approximately $4M) making the total combined full purchase to be $48,000,000.

    • @hankowens9295
      @hankowens9295 6 років тому +10

      $44mil was the final, but with fees typically 10% to be paid above and beyond, the new owner "actually" paid $48.4mil as the total out of pocket. The old owner probably received about around $42mil total as he had to pay fees too. A nice racket for the auctioneers. Still, actually a "bargain" as that car was expected to sell for just over $50mil as the final bid.

    I remember hearing a noise from a body shop next door , the storage racking had collapsed onto a 250 GTO destroying the front end , it was in the 1990s so only a mere 1.5m
