DIDNT GO 20! 5 Yard Shot on a Kansas Buck! Self-Filmed Bowhunting
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 вер 2024
- This is the second half of my 2021 DIY bowhunting trip in Kansas. I was fortunate enough to be able to take a nice buck on the last afternoon hunt of the trip. #onxhunt #gigginbiggins
This dude goes to all the work of hunting his tail off, self filming, being humble enough (and realistic enough) to share his ups and downs, and all these know-it-alls feel they have an obligation to tell him what he should shoot, or how to call, or critique his stand set up, or discount the buck he killed as not being big enough. Seriously, WTH is wrong with you people? Let this man legally shoot whatever he wants however he wants! Dude seems pretty solid to me.
Amen it's all them that think they're expert because they got lucky once or twice hunting on family farms
90% of these shitty commenters probably have never even killed a deer. They spend their time watching the big timers and wish or maybe dream they are them. That’s a righteous deer bro, great work and that’s putting the time in ..
This guy is amazing I have been watching for long time!!!! Hunting it’s not about just to shot the biggest but enjoy the time in the woods and relax or fall sleep in the stand lol
@@7outdoors4life AMEN ,AMEN ,AMEN, AND AMEN!!!! Some of THE best hunts I ever went on I killed nothin but time. IMHO, Ifn a person has to "worry" about not killin a deer rather than enjoying God's creation and gettin next to critters, well heck , why even go at all?!
@@kykrazy6050 right 😎
Believe me I want to go now now and see what’s moving lol but it’s to warm and I hate snakes 🐍 hahaha hunting is like fishing you never know what you’re going to catch if you don’t try it lol
Came for the thumbnail, stayed for the fantastic content. Last year I went through similar ups and downs (it sounds like) but in the end the thing that stands out to me is your reverence for the animal and how thankful you come across.
Thanks bud. How is your season going this year?
Its been a wild season. Stayed on a 10 point for over a month (no trail cameras used) and passed up on a nice 8 in the 10's area. I regret passing up on it now. But what do you do.
At one point I bumped my sight and didn't know it until I took a few practice shots. I guess I was lucky I didn't get a shot at the 10 while my sight was off.
Haven't seen the 10 for over a month now. Its been a really fun season though honestly. Didn't have an issue filling the freezer and friends and family freezers with doe meat. And I've got January to hunt also!
I'll upload a video of me shooting a pig here in the next few days when I didn't know my sight was off. Blood trail went for a while but stopped and I never found the pig, sadly. But eventually I'll be putting up one of my doe harvest videos. :)
You are the true personification of “Hunt hard, kill quickly, waste nothing, offer no apologies”. Good on ya!
Thanks man
Bahhhhhhh sheep
That's the fun of deer hunting, being out in nature and being patient in the hunt to get one of the larger deer of the herd. Great job brother. God bless ya
Thank you!
This is the best video I've seen on deer hunting. Humble guy shows all his ups and downs day after day and with all of about twenty four hours left the good lord grants him his prayers request. Great job you put in the hours and the skills God gave you and wanted to see you use them. Once again great job stay safe, blessings to you.🏹. 🦌. 🇺🇲
Thanks buddy
There is a level of dedication to these animals you have that I can only hope to develop. Just started hunting whitetail this year at 43 after a fifteen year hiatus.
I appreciate that man
Excellent shot, and video content!
I really miss being able to be out -,
doors Camping, Fishing, Hiking, and Hunting.
Now, all I can do is watch videos, and re -
minimize about my younger days when I,
wasn't confined to this Rehab/Healthcare
Center. It's been 5 yrs. since I lost part of my,
Left leg due to being a diabetic. I'm NOT giving,
up! My goals are to do what it takes to be rid of
my current situation, and get back to enjoying,
life again.
Way to stay positive!
Thanks for sharing. You are a good young man. someone taught you well. Hard work does have rewards. Thanking God including him insures his plans for you and you will always succeed. I'm getting ready this year at 60 to get my first deer, first time crossbow. I pray God is with me as he was with you. Best to you I hope to see more from you. God bless ya!!
Thanks man. I am a painting contractor as well
Absolutely DeeKo I love that he shows all good and bad! Things happen out there. I use videos to educate my 14 and 17 year olds on hunting and showing them that we don’t live in a video game world of redos and perfect shots. I personally hunt to fill freezers. Last year I got 5 does. Had one shot at a sweet 6 point and hit a branch at first light. Literally last night I steaked out my last roast from last year. My family bought beef maybe 4 times since last October! Hope someone has something negative to say about that!!!
One of the best as it shows being at your low point and then finally getting one... 🙌
Congratulations! You are one of the hardest working tuber out there! I know you enjoyed this day's pay off. Can't wait to see your journey this upcoming season 2022-23!
Thanks Michael!
Congratulations bro, enjoyed your video.. to all the critics, it’s not easy to do what he did.. to come full draw on a buck is a job within itself, then to fight the buck fever on top of all that and then put the arrow where it needs to be … congrats my friend!!
Thanks Danny!
You bet !!
My son showed me this video and he was really excited for you
This year was going to be his first year bow hunting and he was really looking forward to his first year hunting on his own and with a bow that was his grandfather's before he passed away but unfortunately a few weeks ago someone thought they needed his bow and all his hunting gear more than my son did and they stole it and he is devastated and said his 2024 deer season was ruined
But today he had a smile on his face watching this video with his father and i just want to thank you for sharing this hunt 👍👍
Dang. I’m sorry to hear that. Thieves suck!
Young man, I've been chasing deer for 30 years. I've seen a lot of hunts. This is one of my all time favorite videos. Good videoing and editing. I hunt SEK every year. This video took me to the roller coaster every year. Congrats on your deer. I'll subscribe.
Thanks man, I really appreciate that!!
I’ve got several years worth of Kansas videos as well as other states you might want to check out 😁
@@HaveBowWillTravel you have people trying to scam your followers. They sent a number with the GA area code.
@@buckstop1031 don’t call it😂
@@HaveBowWillTravel another channel about gave me a free Hoyt RX7. I literally told them I wanted tie dyed. They said OK. Lol.
Good job , congratulations after all that hard work , time to ride home with a smile 👍
Man, that is a nice buck! We appreciate you sharing your hunts with us. I couldn’t film and hunt I don’t think. I know it has to be a tough grind, I get excited to see you be successful. Thanks again!
Thanks bud
Awesome job on the show bud! You're always finding some giants and your excitement is great. Look forward to seeing more clips
This is a very very educational video . The goods and the bads are always important to share with others on what to do and what not to do when hunting. It was a great learning experience for us all deer included. Thanks and hope you continue to have amazing luck in Kansas... I don't believe you should ever leave Kansas for deer hunting just stay right there in your little peice of heaven and continue to teach and hunt 😉..
Thanks Josh!
Congrats Tanner, it’s always an adventure with you. So glad you could fill your tag. Looking forward to the 2022 season with you. Awesome hunt.
Thanks Doug!
That’s a well earned, very nice buck. You did a great job with videoing your hunt. Congratulations!!!
Thanks Roger
Man I just started watching your videos a couple days ago and your one of the few who post about the good and bad the highs and lows of hunting it's nothing but a giant adventure with the good moments of harvesting a deer that make it all worth it. If your ever in lower Michigan we otta go out and do some hunting your definitely a guy I could hunt with any day of the week with. Good luck the rest of this season and let the arrows fly
Thanks buddy
Nice job. Bowhunting is a never give up sport your fortune can change in a hot minute!
Hey man, love the channel. Been a subscriber for about 2 years now. Congrats on a killer buck! I have to say though, I think those bucks were running away from calls and rattling because it's too wide open where you were. If you notice, what's the first thing any buck does when it hears a grunt or rattle? They stop and look around. From my experience, calling seems to work best in heavily wooded or brushy areas where bucks can hear, but can't see very far, so they come to investigate. I'm thinking the bucks in this video heard "deer sounds," looked across that field, saw nothing, and it freaked them out. Maybe a decoy would've worked in that situation? I don't know... Just my two cents. Either way, you got it done. Again, congrats on an awesome buck! Keep up the good work. Can't wait for more content.
That’s definitely a good possibility. But I’m usually on the edge of the woods and they’d have to come to the edge or they wouldn’t be able to see in. Although I’m sure a decoy would help I try to only call to deer that are leaving so there’s nothing to lose really
@@HaveBowWillTravel understood. I should probably hold off on critiques unless I was actually there. Either way, your hard work paid off. If you're ever interested in hunting Pennsylvania, let me know. I've got a spot that's got room for you, and there's been some killer bucks showing up there the past couple years. We'd have to find another way to get in contact besides UA-cam though. You have an Instagram or Facebook or something?
@@dullblades8593 yes sir we’ve got instagram and facebook
@@dullblades8593 if you check out my 2019 Kansas buck video, I called to him and he comes and sticks his head in the edge of the woods to look lol
@@HaveBowWillTravel just checked out the videos from that trip. Unreal! Seems like just about everything that could've gone wrong went wrong. But you still made it happen on a killer buck. Congrats! And you're right - it looks to me like he was peeking in to see what he could see before committing. Thankfully he stayed close enough
Very nice , congratulations . Got to love it when they fall in site of your stand .
Yes sir. Thanks for watching
Was like lookin in the mirror. Normally, when you have a PATIENT hunt, it pays off. When you’re jumpin around, bc you’re not confident where you are, is when you go home empty handed. Patience is the key. Nice, beautiful Buck, man. When he got up to ya though, I thought he was an 8. Either way, you got a nice 3-4 1/2 yr old buck, there. His G2 and G3’s are nice and high. Be proud. You earned it. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks!
Awesome deer and hunt brother! Keep them coming! One of the best channels I’ve seen on UA-cam!
Thanks Lane
Last year was my first year bowhunting and it took me till the last day to finally get onw down. Congrats man good luck this year!
Thanks!
Brother, when we think we’re at our worst seems to be when we get rewarded. The years that went smooth just don’t seem to be the productive ones. I believe it’s the lord making us work so we appreciate our hard work and reward.Congratulations
Thanks Jerry
Congrats on your buck. I enjoyed your video. You said it the best at the end showing your lows and high times. God bless
Thanks bud
Nice to see all of the hard work and effort pay off. 👍 Good hunt

Nice harvest man, I've had bad luck with neck and shoulder shots with a bow, but this one sure payed off.
Wish I could still physically Bowhunt, I’m in Lyon Co Kansas. Thanks for sharing this, reminds me of many memories of my own hunts. God Bless, let Him lead, 🙏🏼

Brother you are a better man than me..when I worked hard for a big buck that suckered is going home with me! Great hunt..congrats.
What broadhead was you using
Ramcat 3 blade fixed head
Great job bro. Don't listen to the self proclaimed pros lol. They have always got some sort of opinion. You kill a buck or doe even for that matter. A trophy, especially bow hunting is in the eye of the shooter.
Thanks Tanner for getting us fired up down here in GA for the season. To God be all the glory for the new experiences coming to all of us!
Yes sir. Thanks for watching!
Nice Buck dude don't know how I missed the notification on this video but I did. Glad you got your Mojo back.Cant wait for this year videos
Thanks dude
Impressive hunt, alotta hard work put in and long sits brother! Congrats! NIce big bodied deer and what a shot quick and clean. Stay Safe out there. Can't wait to see ya next adventure.

Thanks Charles!
Only 2 arrows brother?? Congrats on a nice deer. You definitely put in the work!
Thanks. Long story on that lol
I like the way you thanked the Lord. It always bugs me when people thank the animal, like the deer actually knew you were there, knew you wanted to shoot him, and volunteered to become venison on your table. Congratulations!
Very nice buck. Congratulations.
Congratulations man! Great hunt, and a great buck!
Thanks!!
Wowww!!! What a shot on that beautiful 6 point!! Congrats!!!!
Thanks Brian! How’s your season going?
Nice buck amigo. Way to grind it out and keep on keepin on.
Thanks!
Epic! Beautiful animal. Glad to see your spirit elevate!
Thank you James
Congratulations nice buck and video
Well done. You did a good job. Not all people who do UA-cam plus hunt or fish or whatever they do show everything they do. I film with my phone cause all my gopro and equipment got stolen but it's all good. Keep up the good work. God Bless from Oklahoma
Not a traditional place to stick one, But obviously one of the best, Very quick way to send one to greener fields,
If anyone ever asks who your sponsor is, Just say God, Ohios season is open, Just seen record cold temps in the Southern Ohio,

Great footage….I kind of puckered up there when your four wheeler started drifting back…😂😂….new sub!!!!

Watched all your sits. Good job persevering, it almost always pays off.
Congratulations
You need one of the Hawk bow hangers... they bite into even the hardest of trees super well. It's a must have in your backpack.
I really like your videos I film also everything but I do not feel my face I just film the actual hunt the shot I mean what’s a tactacam. But I film every hunt I go on. So my question is what did you have fastened to your bow???
Nice bucks.
Do you mind tell me the place that you were hunting now it is private land or public land?
Private
Proud of you for being down but not letting it kick you out the game. Keep that head up dude. Subscribing.
Thanks Eric!
You kept with it and was victorious that's all that matters! Great content
Thanks man
Congrats bubba nice buck.
Thank ya sir!
What a shot! Your tenacity sure paid off! In a way, I’m glad to have mainly one stand but it helps to be mobile! 👍
So awesome, what broad heads are you using and the grain weight? Thanks buddy just subscribed to your channel keep up the great work and best of luck this year .😎
Also what kind of camera did you use for all of this I plan to try to self film myself this year.
Ramcat 3 blade
Total arrow weight about 430 grains
Filmed on a canon g50 mostly
@@HaveBowWillTravel thanks buddy definitely looking forward to seeing more of your videos.😎
Just watched this again for the 2nd time. What an incredible shot.
Thanks for watching
Great job man, way to grind it out! Nice Buck❤🎉
Damn it boy that was a nice SHOT
Great hunt and video. Congrats on a great buck.
Thanks Steve!
Living in KS all my life and hurting different areas all over, I believe your calling to aggressively. If you get a negative reaction in one area to calls, don't use them. Don't give up your location especially in the open. The ground is better than the small trees. Promise. Just learn to break up your outline and move slowly. Lot of places I'm hunting now has 1# trees. You got the persistence, fine tune your calling, get rid of can. It can work but old adjustable grunt tube like the true talker has more natural sound. Can make soft or loud beats with it. Don't know if you can still find them but I have had mine 20+ yrs and still good.
Yes sir thanks
Nice hunt, nice buck! New follower here! 🎉congratulations 🎊
Thanks!
You definitely earned that buck sir congratulations. He is a nice buck too don't pay no attention to the peanut gallery. I hunt a few hundred acres of private land in NE Arkansas and I killed my best buck with a bow 11/18/23 @0805 am! He is just a little bigger then yours and I am very grateful for him. You was down to crunch time too so it makes it even sweeter. Keep up the good work buddy. Nothing like harvesting a nice buck with the bow! I was wondering though....Why do you only take two arrows with you in your quiver? I get bored so I take 5 and squirrels and coyotes are in trouble if they get to close lol.
Great hunt and it paid off. Love your videos. Looking forward to Sept 10th for opening day here in GA near Lincolnton. Hope you have a great 2022 season.
Thanks Phil!
Fine buck sir!!! Awesome hunt!!!
Thanks Charles!
Was that lung shot?
That a decent buck by the way.
Gorgeous!!!
One lung and cut the edge of the heart if I remember correctly
Nice job. All the work and waiting finally paid off. I hunt up here in Michigan and lots of pressure on the deer up here where i hunt.
Damn, I ain’t the one huntin and even I get pissed when they either spot you and book it, or pass completely 😅
I’m really enjoying your channel. I like the places you hunt and I especially like that you still hunt from a climbing tree stand. I think a climbing Treestand in most areas is still the best option for mobile hunting
I agree 100%
Thanks for watching and thanks for commenting!
How am I just now coming across this channel?!?? Love it keep it up
Thanks man!
Hey love your videos. Your a real hunter and it seems to me a good person. I'm 62 and been bowhunting since I was 12. I had to switch to crossbow for some reason I cant shot a regular bow accurate anymore. After I wounded a couple deer because my shot was bad I switched to a crossbow. I almost gave up because I can't shoot good anymore and its getting harder for me to climb with my portable. I still do when I feel good but I use ladder and lockon stands. I love watching your videos Sometimes I live the hunt with ya. Your best video had to be the one were you dressed in a gilly suit and hid in the bushes and shot your wife. It was your greatest hunt and ya seem like you are lucky to have a real trophy a good woman. Please dont change who you are and keep it real. I myself dont hang with to much new hunters they don't appreciate the sport we live for all they want to do is kill and will step on you to do so. I mostly hunt alone I have a great friend I hunt with we always have each others back he is the reason I still keep goin. I wish I could meet you and hang out some. There are not many hunters like you out there no more. Thank's for keeping the sport real hitem hard stay safe. Ralph D.
Thanks Ralph
Thank you for understanding your limitations and caring enough to change!
What kind of scent or bait did you use? He's walking right up to your tree XD. I'm looking for scents besides deer piss. Can't use "bait" in my state, just scents (on public lands).
Woodsmanship lol
Just picked the right tree
@@HaveBowWillTravel lol. Maybe he likes your smell.
It looks kind of like a bedding area to me, or maybe just a high traffic area. Good spot.

If I see a coyote while I'm deer hunting, I automatically flip over to coyote hunting mode, even willing to lose an arrow in an attempt to take out just one of those!
why the hate on for coyotes...
@@bneaclab1
You'd know, if you've seen what they can do to other wildlife, pets, & livestock. Especially if not controlled, getting mange, rabies.......
@@L2FlyMN I grew up and lived for years around livestock, coyotes, and pets. You can't bs me about that. Yeah they are a predator and yeah they can take a pet or a young animal, but it is seldom. Just like the wolf there is a mad hate on for anything predator theses days. It is sad. They eat rodents for the most part and are an important part of the ecosystem. Seems like today the attitude is shoot em when you see em..Yee Haw yippee kiyay and all that.
