Hi imma reply to all your comments here. I’ve made a part 2 and am editing a part 3. Part 2 should be live Friday and part 3 next Friday. I got 2 x8 gb sticks because most sizes larger are scc or server ram. I got 16g worth of ram for both dells. I got a 128gb ssd and a 1tb hd for the small form factor and I kept the 1tb ssd and 6tb hd for the regular 3020. And for cores I’m running a 4785t in the small form factor I bought on eBay for 30$, and for the regular 3020 I have a 4790k. For gpus I put the 1030 in the small form factor as it doesn’t have much clearance for a larger gpu, and I purchased both a 1660 super and a 1650 pci powered. I want to make some UA-cam shorts comparisons of the 3 gpus. Ontop of making comparisons of game performance on different amounts of ram. Right now I’m focused on games like counter strike as my benchmark, it’s the game I usually play, and with the 1030 I see 120-130 fps, with the 1650 I’m seeing around 250 frequently, and I haven’t installed the 1660 yet because I waited for 2 hours for drivers to install lol.anyways hope this kinda explains my plans, have a good one!
those optiplex systems are really great when upgraded and cost pennies. Processor and ram upgrade is cheap on ebay. A gtx 1060 or rx 570/580 will pair well with games for cheap.
i would try and get an rx 580 8 gb 2048 upgrade psu and go with 16 gb ram thats what mine is i5 4590 rx580 2048 sp 8 gb 600 watt psu and 16 gb ddr3 ram and a 2 tb hd and shes a beast now i get 60+ fps on red dead 2 and can get 90+ on gta 5 but i have it capped to 60
I updated my old 7010MT that has an i7-3770. Great little gaming machine for little $$$. CPU: i7-3770 RAM: 4x4GB GPU: MSI RX580 Gaming X 8GB PSU: Corsair RM550x ARGB Controller: COOLMOON CPU Cooler: Jonsbo CR1400 ARGB (tower cooler with 92mm fan - keeps gamin temps less than 70C. Jonsbo FR925 ARGB reaar exhaust fan Arctic P14 PWM ARGB case fan (cut out a bunch metal case behind the front face plate to improve air flow) 2 CRJ 5 pin fan adapters to connect aftermarket fans (no fan errors). Cheap 90 degree USB3 header adapter as the graphics card covers the header. Cut the side panel to fit an acrylic window.
there is 8 gb sticks get two of those
