Everyone seems to have forgotten that we talked Ukraine into giving up their nukes in return for American protection. If they still had their nukes this war would never have started. But it did and now America is breaking its promise of protection. I am one ashamed American. We now have Ukrainian blood on our hands. We have lost all credibility amongst allies and enemies look at us as being weak. If this aid doesn’t go thru and Ukraine falls we Americans better buckle up for the bitter ride that awaits us in the not too distant future.

I agree witg this position, Putin is smart enough to envision the militarization of post-war Ukraine so either a) This war never ends (blocking Ukraine from NATO permanently) or b) It ends with a new map of Ukraine that the Kremlin would feel comfortable with assuming it will now be a hostile neighbor
If its b) it will be a lot more territory than was has already been seized. In the meantime the death toll will reach 1,000,000 men if the war continues into 2025.

This has never been a russio Ukrainian war. This has always been a nato proxy war. Ukraine didn’t have a chance lasting this long without NATO and NATO just prolonged the pain. Russia is not a push around. It won’t accept nato in Ukraine few hundred miles away from its capital. NATO will never be willing to pay the costs necessary to defeat Russia cause it doesn’t pose a clear and immediate danger for them as it is for Russia.
Westerners need to be realistic. The past 30 years was an exceptional time in history when they were unchallenged. But things change. They have to accept a smaller sphere of influence than the entire world.
That would be true if the US wasn’t giving billions to Israel. It makes no sense to say it’s better to focus internally and still give out billions of dollars in military aid to a foreign nation.
You either help both (or three including Taiwan), or help nobody but yourself

@newguy8288 the issue there is that is Israel is a major trading partner with usa worth around 50 billion dollars, while Ukraine only has about 2 billion dollars.
There could be major strategic implications for usa if it didn't financial support israel which could cost trillions if relations between the 2 broke down.
