    Hello Geoff,
    Thank you for all the wonderful recipes. So many old familiar favourites that I remember from earlier days of family gatherings and home, but for which I never had the recipes. I have great difficulty finding bourbon cream cookies, for example, a favourite cookie of mine out here in Victoria, BC and am thrilled to learn how to bake them. I do have a number of traditional favourites handed down from grandmothers and aunts, but it’s interesting to compare the little differences in traditional puddings and cakes. You explain and demonstrate the baking of the different items very well. I look forward to making them. I’ll be writing out so many of the recipes, I’ll almost double the size of my recipe box! Thank you so much again. May you continue to share wonderful recipes, British ones in particular, for many more years to come, now that I’ve just found you. (Even though you have been doing this for seven years.)😊 Happy baking! Kathryn

    Geoff I really appreciate you making eggless recipes, because I get a migraine if I eat something that it had eggs in it and I baked it a day or two ago.

      HI Farida Aminy. That's a shame. But at least these biscuits won't cause that problem, with our without chocolate.

    They look better than the famous oaty biscuits you get in supermarkets, Geoff. Are rolled oats another name for porridge oats or are they different? Thanks for another brilliant video. 👍👍👍

    • @geoffsbakingblog
      @geoffsbakingblog  2 роки тому

      HI Ray. Thanks. Rolled oats are porridge oats. If you look the the supermarket at Quaker and Scott's it says rolled oats. You can also get quick or instant porridge oats, not quite the same but they will work. There is also old fashioned rolled oats, but they are larger oats, not having been broken down. They would work, but it is better to process them a little to make them smaller.

    Can't see that you've ever done Welsh Cakes on your channel. They're delicious and so easy. Technically not baking as you fry them but they're a really easy and wonderful snack that you can do with fruit or jam. Being Welsh I am biased though.

    Hi Geoff, Wishing you a happy new year.
    I’m going to make these tomorrow, love your homemade biscuits and these look very nice 🍪 ☕️ just wondering if I could also make some using gluten-free flour? Would be for my son, would be good if I could. Thank you, Janet 🙂🌈

    • @geoffsbakingblog
      @geoffsbakingblog  2 роки тому

      HI Janet. I hope you enjoy the biscuits. I have never used gluten-free flour, but I think it would probably work fine, though the biscuits might be a little more crumbly. I read that a little xanthan gum helps bind the structure, though again I have never used that. Happy New Year to you too.

      Yes, I put a caption on the video 40g(2tbsp) as I mis-spoke in the video. 'the written recipe on my blog has all the ingredients.

    Do the biscuits, unfrosted, taste like Hob Nobs? I adored them when we honeymooned in England and Scotland many moons ago. It took us forever to get the crumbs out of the car! I'm still looking for a taste-alike recipe after all these years (34!). I have occasionally bought them in the larger grocery chains here in the US or a pen friend from Hull sent me some once.

    • @geoffsbakingblog
      @geoffsbakingblog  2 роки тому

      Hi Karen, Yes I think they do taste quite like Hob Nobs, though probably not quite as sweet. I haven't actually bought them for many years so I can't be sure. They make chocolate Hob Nobs too these days.
