I saw the sparks before you even mentioned it you are 100% correct. Try changing your plug wire it’s probably just grounding to the head and sparking to the metal air cleaner cover. The water helped make a more conducive point and jumped through the drips.
I don’t think it’s sparks I think a backfire from the exhaust since it happens when he revs which means it dumping a lot of fuel into the engine it’s not all combusting in the cylinder.
@@Slickness22 I agree, it happened as he lets off of the throttle which indicates a "backfire" which doesn't always make a popping sound. I would check the muffler for a small hole in it. While it was zoomed in on the spot I noticed that the label next to the ignition looked slightly melted.
TRIM THAT MOTOR UP!! Mud motors aren't meant to have fully submerged props. the props are designed to be half in half out, chopping through the surface of the water,
No dude when your getting stuck in the mud with a mud boat you put the trim down and move the motor side to side if you put the trim up when stuck your not gonna be moving at all
I can’t wait til spring, hoping to buy my first boat then get it ready for duck season and bow fishing next year!! I’m a duck hunter but Flair you have definitely made me wanna get into bow fishing!!
Trim the motor all the way down when you are stuck and move it back and forth to get grip. Prop needs to be had out of the water when moving. I have about the same set up and it works great
I have 2 of them and I tried to justify why I need 3. All of them different type of boat I want lol. But I live on a 120x80 lot and have 1 deck boat. 1 skiff. A truck. Jeep motorcycle, suv. 5x8 trailer, golf cart and 2 riding mowers that runs lol. And a van across the street in the county right away. And a kayak that is in my side yard because I haven't put it next to my shed. That has multiple boat motors and stuff like that in it. And my back yard is fenced for 3 big dogs. I'm told no more room. He has acres. So no excuse not to have more
I might check into transom heights for your 35. some mud motors are made for shorter transom boats while others are made to sit higher on the the transom finding the correct match can make all the difference. I run a old Heavy go devil hull with a 5500 mud buddy and getting around 32 empty
Video idea for ya…. Make measuring sticks for the water level of the ponds… just 2x4s in 5gal buckets of cement you mark off and set into the bottom of the ponds then you can see what the change is each time you go… won’t be accurate long term as it sinks or gets buried in mud but is cheap and works!
Flair, @approx 3:30min, boy you have to get some solar powered bug zappers! I'm sure that I've seen them on Amazon or something, but it seems to use L.E.D. UV lights instead of having it plugged in constantly and using a florescent bulb, keep in mind there is a decent 'Flair's chance in the Heck-Fire' that I needed glasses whilst perusing the Amazon.
My dad has a boat just like yours and uses a push pole to get himself in stuck when the boat gets beached. It’s basically a pole with a duck web foot at the end and it really helps moving the boat around when you don’t want to use the motor.
I recommend a piece of rubber attached across the back to keep so much water from coming in over the transom when you slow down quickly. Something like truck bed liner or which rubber roofing or even old carpet.
sorry i’m late me and my dad were working one rebuilding the gm 305 big block keep up the good work flair im bout to watch the throwback thursday video
Use pvc to make a few arches over top Like a roll cage type of deal Cut square flaps out of your mesh camo covers so you can flip em up real quick and “moss” up the sides or use your local type of cover like some cat tail and tall brown grass
For that boat, you need some depth for the holeshot to get on plane, then you trim the motor up so 2/3 of the prop is under water. That boat will cruise pretty fast when you get it on plane
Dam that boat looks fast, but be careful hector is going to be running 3 Honda civics with spoon engines. And on top of that he just came into Harry's and ordered 3 t66 turbos with NOS and a motec exhaust.
When running wide open trim it up until it starts throwing a rooster tail, it will get up on plain no problem just have to ease the trim up until it’s throwing a rooster tail but still easy to steer, when you get in thick mud and grass then you trim the motor down
There are other types of props to use but essentially the difference in that motor from standard boats is that it is a high torque motor that is better for moving heavy weight at a slower speed and what is usually done is that the prop is pushed into the mud and it just uses the mud as if it were water to move you forward.
if you drain the pond i wonder if you can scoop out some of the mud and use it for the the duck pond you dug out to make it hold water. this way make the pond deeper and clear out the.mud and the other pond can hold water. and not having to spend money on clay.
What about a change in the prop angle? Ik that will help with speed on a normal out board but not sure about that type of drive seems like it would still help tho
You need to trim up. You want the prop level with the surface of the water so the prop throws a rooster tail. Then the boat won’t plow and it’ll get on plane. Adjust your trim as your moving.
I run a beaver tail blind on my excel f4. They flip over in one piece and have 4 individual sealable shooting ports on top. If I only have two people hunting in it in 20 degree weather I run a mr buddy and it stays about 65 degrees in the boat. It’s pretty Gucci.
There is so much weight at the front with the batteries and the gas tanks. I think that’s why your nose end is diving into the water, 35hp should be movin better than that. Good vids and 2nd channel is great.
I can't help but think, you should invest in some oars/paddles for situations like this. Not to mention the stealth potential of sneaking into duck areas in the early morning, without having a revving motor bump them.
Trim the motor way up after you hjt your 7moh and put as much weight in the back of the boat. It should be running low 20s. If that doesn't work your prop is very worn
It’s probably not healthy. But back in the army days, I’d eat a few wooden match heads. Clip the red. Pop them down with a Rip It. You sweat the sulfur out. Worked down at JRTC in Louisiana.
Sounds like you could use a higher pitch prop. Motor sounds like its running wide open. Larger diameter prop with slightly higher pitch pitch then run only half in the water.
I can't wait to see you on the new channel beefcake flair you fishing out of the new boat name *Sheila thickness*. LOL 😂 face. Keep up the great content flare UA-cam won't keep you down.

You should buy a “hammer” propeller so it can get on plain. They are 12 inches across. You could also do some power upgrades to your motor
