He ran the same exact play 3 times and then an obvious play action off that, you can run the QB sneak over and over but running the same exact play 3 times was stupid
@@quakerdevil08 QB sneak isn't really a play it's going right at the defense and there is no faking it, Penn state got too cute and tried to go off tackle vs Ohio State and screwed themselves.
Its easy to question plays in hindsight and it definitely won't be the last time a coach that is considered a great or elite play caller decides to get cute on the goal line. Its entirely plausible Sark was aware how elite the buckeye defense has been in goal to go situations and thought he had to call something off color. The pitch play was dumb for sure but if it worked the same people criticizing would be praising how gutsy a call it was.
It was the right call run outside with the best lineman in football vs Cover 0, but majority of fans don't know football. Downs is just elite and blew up the play.
I’m not sure how you can lose such a big game, grin and ham it up with your former roommate; all while only scoring 14 and having a below average performance. Ewers is definitely on the spectrum. His slow telegraphing side-arm release, lack of mobility and poor pocket awareness, always catches up to him when facing top opponents.
I’m a Buckeye fan. The Tennessee & Oregon games were much more dominant than the score shows. Buckeyes dominated for the opening snaps. The Texas game was different. This was a battle and the game was much closer than the score would leave you to believe. Texas is a great team. Very happy we got out with a win.
@@lynnm40511 I’m a lifelong Ohio State fan, predicted the final score to be 49-10, Ohio State, was a little off, Texas played better than I thought they would! Great game! Have to say I was a little nervous in this one! 🌰🏈
@@briancrawford69well you should have. Couldn’t stop the screen game or running backs out of the backfield. Offense wasn’t playing sloppy, they were getting outplayed by Texas’ defense. Be a fan but be realistic.
As a K-State alum, I am so happy for Will Howard. A wonderful and respectful young man. All the best in your NFL future. Hope you win the national championship game, you are so deserving.
He's a good college qb. Glad to have a kstate qb on roster at tosu. Colin Klein was a beast. Always thought bill Snyder was one of the most respectable men involved with football. Great program.
He’s been an absolute treat to have here in Cbus. He may not be perfect, but he does enough and HE HAS HEART. Great guy and I’m so glad he chose to be a Buckeye
@@chrischance8514 Texas played well, better than I thought they would against the best team in college football! I thought Ohio State should have scored more points, but missed opportunities, and penalties on Ohio State stalled drives! See you next year in Columbus, first game of the season in August! Can’t wait! Series is now tied 2-2! 🌰🏈
Ah, OSU fan here. You guys played great. The nature of the loss was such that my heart went out to you all (though I'm glad my guys won!) Such is sports. It's why we love them, no?! Peace and perhaps a rematch in the near future!
It felt like a classic Ryan Day end of big game. Couldn't close it out. 1yd line to tie it up with 2min to go. Day always plays tight at the end when it's close. If Sawyer didn't scoop and score, I feel like Texas would have won. Buckeyes only beat themselves. Anyway, great game. Classy fans from Texas. GO BUCKEYES!
Respect to the Horns. You showed up and showed pride and fought. Classy team too. Looking forward to at least two more games over next two years! Go Bucks!
Except they stopped Michigan on a 4th and 1 inside the 3, Jack Sawyer intercepted another play from the 3, and they held another 1st and goal to just a field goal.
Ohio State is like all time best in goal line defense. You are better off trying to score from the 10 than inside the 5 That isnt the first time they have defended their goal line like that this season.
Sark cost us with his play calling at the end. oh well, great game! hope yall win it all! great game at least! Glad my Horns didnt get blown out like everyone expected at least.
To be fair, opponents rarely had success pounding the ball up the middle against OSU's Goal Line Defense. That's why Sark chose to pitch the ball to the outside. Plus he had success earlier in the game when blocking on the perimeter. Unfortunately it didn't work because it was snuffed out and blown up behind the line of scrimmage.
First and goal on the one. If you can't punch it in from there in 4 tries, then tip your hat to the opposition and take your loss. But that call on second and one sticks in the craw
You gotta go QB sneak there 4 times, doesn't matter how good a defense is any championship offense should be able to move the defense 2 yards in 4 plays
@@IsaacMSingleton1 It's really not that simple though. I mean, a team can have the mentality that it is that simple, and maybe it will serve them well. But 1 or 2 of those 4 times, if the defense is in good position, successfully anticipates the right gap, gets a jump on the guy who was assigned to block him and plugs that gap, then it's not just another short gain to accumulate but a loss of 1, or more. That happens on 2nd and goal, now you've gotta go 3+ in 2 plays. The point is, a lot of teams can think that way, execute and be successful, but it's not impossible to stop, just really, really difficult.
@@jsmith3798i absolutely agree! However, in that position, your likelihood of losing yardage is far less if you run up the middle for 2-3 plays then think of something else for 3rd or 4th down. Im an OSU fan and ill be frank, once they were within the 5yd line, I knew Texas was cooked on the goal line. Now did I expect a scoop n score from Sawyer? No. But I expected them to stand em up just from watching Texas’s play calling throughout the year and OSU being the 2nd rank red zone defense and #1 inside the 5. IMO if you can’t get 1 yard in 4 plays, you don’t deserve the win. Look up “Gary Reasons The Hit” and hearing John Madden talk about the Giants goal line stand, is exactly like he says “that is football”. If you can’t get that 1 yard, then its awfully tough to win….

honestly up until right before the game i gave the Horns very litte chance as a Texas fan. right before the game i had a feeling it would be tied up at the end and my team would lose in a heartbreaker as opposed to getting demolished like many expected. glad my team played them well, showed heart, but man, its almost worse to be right there and blow it.
@@OrangeUaLemonyour Texas team is a bunch of tough young men. I’m a buckeyes fan but I found myself watching a ton of Texas games this year. Few teams are grittier than this Texas team and it showed last night.

As a Texas alumnus this loss stings. Hats off to the Buckeyes for playing a great game. IMO, was the best game of the CFP, to this point, because both teams played a solid 4 quarters. Hook’em! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Josh Pate… consider this: Not a single person is complaining that their team isn’t in the national championship game. Zero doubt about the two teams who put together a complete package over the course of a season. And that’s why we have playoffs.
Yep, I do have a problem with seeding, because Texas, Oregon would be favored over Notre Dame. So, the playoff could be better, but you’re right, all the best teams had a chance to win the championship.
I think ND, Penn State, and Georgia are all about evenly matched. Throw them against each other and they all win games against one another. But I'd be very surprised if ND beats Ohio State. To me, Penn State would have the best chance because I don't see the ND offense being explosive enough against OSU
@@matthewsharpe393 someone asked me who id rather see tosu play in the championship game between Penn state and ND. I said ND cuz beating a good team 2x in 1 season is really hard.
Texas called a good game but made 2 TERRIBLE COACHING CALLS, BLITZING WITH 29 SECONDS TO GO IN THE HALF AND A TOSS SWEEP FROM THE SHOTGUN FROM THE 1. That's why Texas loss
PSU tried to run up the gut 4 times from the 1 and OSU stuffed them. Sark watches film. That was not a horrible call…it was an educated call. Like ThreadAndCircuses said…the athletes (Downs and Ransom) made an unbelievable football play.
yup. i agree. two absolutely terrible calls. oddly enough i had a gut feeling that both would happen. i didnt expect that long run before the half or the blitz call but when i saw 29 seconds left in the half i just had a gut feeling. ngl doing a sweep crossed my mind right before they did it, no clue why i thought of a sweep there but yeah, sark screwed us.
pretty much. The game was lost on the 75 yard screen TD at the end of the first half. If that play doesn't happen then it's tied 14-14 near the end there and Texas kicks the FG on 4th down to go up 17-14 and the scoop and score never happens. Doesn't guarantee the win as OSU would have still had 1:50 to answer but it's a hell of a lot better position than 14-28. Everyone talking about the scoop and score but the entire game actually hinged on the screen TD
well normally they will review it and it prob looked like it to him from his angle so i get him trippin on it but with our camera angle on tv it clearly wasnt targeting. i guess with what happened with osu it adds to how wild it is tho
Honestly, if OSU had played cleaner, it wouldn't have been as close. The penalties and missed catches probably killed another 2-3 scoring drives. FWIW, I'm an SEC homer, not an OSU fan.
So proud of my Horns! What an amazing season and capped it off by matching OSU straight up and losing by 1 yard. I could not be more proud and could not be more excited about where our program is! Congrats on the big win OSU, you earned it.
This OSU team went from being remembered for nothing but losing four straight to UM to playing their absolute best and playing for it all. I'm so proud of these players for not quitting on themselves or each other, and a lot has to be said for the coachig staff to refocus their team in such a big way, especially will all the heat they were taking from the Buckeye faithful. All of these guys are mentally strong and they deserve to be here in the final even after the awful play vs UM.
I’m a real buckeye fan but Texas actually surprised me how they played it was really back and forth and they actually held on wit us until the late scores and stops but GG you guys actually played better than the 1 seed in Oregon when everyone counted u out respect👌🏾😏
Bro how we were flagged evenly don’t do that bro fr u sound hurt Kuz at the end of the day u had chances to score and didn’t like the goal line stop like it was back a forth like I stated
@@drew7155we also were well coached and didn’t really penalize ourselves so your statement means nothing Kuz flags go both ways the bucks jsut were the more disciplined
I had counted Texas out after their close call in the last round but always felt they were the team to worry about if they woke up like the buckeyes did. Texas had the raw size and talent to be the most difficult matchup for the buckeyes at their best and both teams were incredibly even in the final box score.
2 plays were the difference Those would be the screen at the end of the 1st half and the 1st & goal at the 1/2 yard line. Congrats to OSU. Texas was so close again. 🤘
The Ohio State Buckeyes top defense has not drawn a holding call on the opposing OL since game four, 11 games ago. They have THREE starters on their DL alone that are projected to be 1st & 2nd round NFL picks. What a biased joke ncaa officiating is. Literally thousands of snaps since the last holding flag they drew & if you watch the film you see blatant holds on Tyleik, Jack & JT almost every play. The Buckeyes have to beat an opposing team AND the refs...every...single...game. Normally I don't talk about penalties or non-penalties after a game, especially after a win, but it's not about this 1 game, it's about ncaa refs apparently thinking fans won't notice the Buckeyes just aren't going to get any holds called on opposing OLs in what appears to be a coordinated effort to allow all opposing OLs to blatantly hold Buckeyes DL without fear of penalty, which is a joke.
@chrisw647 maybe so it just seems like Ohio State always gets the rough end of the stick anyways it's been like that for years I've been a fan since the 1973 so you go figure but you know what great teams win great games do great things because they can get through all the silliness of the game
@@chrisw647 Common man. OSU O-line got away with a lot of non-call holding calls. Especially a crucial non-holding call on the Texas edge rusher Collin Simmons for a long 3rd down conversion on the only scoring drive for the OSU offense in the second half. Take the W and don't be a sore winner.
No southern team in the title game for the second straight year. I rebranded the Big-10 to the Big North Conference. "It's Not Just Geographically above the SEC

Sark pulled a Pete Carroll in the superbowl. We will be here next year again. OSU, we will see you week 2 in 7 months.
Respect to Texas, great defensive game plan, excellent execution there. I thought Quinn Ewers played within himself for most of the game, think his teammates on offense might have let him down a bit. But overall I thought it was a close contest which didn't actually surprise me all that much I knew they would play zone, take JJ away and they did and a touch more. Thought the OSU offense shot themselves in the foot a few times too many but managed to get it done in the end. A classic!
Buckeye fan here. That was an intense and great game. Texas is a great program and more than proved that (again) tonight. Greatest thanks to Jack Sawyer. He really was a force again today.
As a Texas fan I taught Ohio state was gonna do us worst than Oregon we held our own I’m proud of that Stingz a lil but Ohio State deserves it! HOOK EM HORNS
Great, tough game. Hats off to Ohio State. Proud of Texas. The media groupthink circle on how Ohio State was going to blow Texas out of the water needs to do a little soul-searching.
Agreed. Media and core fan bases are so incapable of objective thought and just take the favorite to roll. ND vs Penn was exhilarating and hard nosed, TX vs OSU was exciting and hard fought. 2 amazing semifinals and everyone should hope the championship is equally as entertaining and not take either team for granted. These final 3 games are for the books for sure.
The playoffs worked. All 4 of the teams that played this week deserved to be there. I love Sark, but I hated that goal line sequence. I'm thinking the line has to be pretty banged up. This supposedly elite line has just been off for a while. Notre Dame got thrashed in their previous opportunities. They are effectively a Cinderella this year.
@@jonaspeterson6893 I disagree. If you put Arch Manning in on the goal line and run it 4 times chances are they get in. Texas put Arch in on 4th and 1 earlier in the game and Arch converted with a 4 yard gain. The Texas O-line is a lot bigger than Penn State and Oregon O-lines. For whatever reason Sark didn't put Arch in on the goal line. Maybe Arch was hurt? Who knows?
I think it could be tweaked a bit, especially the seeding. But in the end the team that was called the most talented and was the betting favorite all season long is likely going to end up champion instead of being stuck at home. I don't like devaluing losses in the regular season but this is how every other major sport does things so I'd say it worked.
Josh, running one yard up the gut against the Buckeyes didn't work for many teams this season. Goal line stances are OSU's defense moxy. UT was justified in trying another way.
The Texas O-Line is a lot bigger than PSU and Oregon. I like to think that Texas can get a yard in 4 tries. Especially with Manning under center. Head scratcher that Sark didn't bring Manning in. It worked on 4th and 1 earlier in the game.
If I was a Texas fan I'd be FURIOUS over that play calling when it was 1st and Goal from the 1...either run 4 plays straight up the middle,..or even better if you can't get one yard on 4 QB sneaks then something is wrong,...or how about....Arch? What garbage play calling from Sark
This loss came down to Sark not trusting the physicality of his Team on 2nd and goal from the goal line. The narrative from all the media is OSU reaching it’s potential etc Unfortunately Sark never got Texas playing even close to their potential on offense. Kudos to PK and Nansen and Co for maximizing the defense though. OSU was beatable tonight. Texas just had 2 brain farts by the coaches that cost them the game.
@ Not even cocky, just bad risk management. Cocky is running the same play 4 times in a row. Brain farts are calling late simulated pressure with 15 secs left or a shotgun toss (not even under center) on 2nd and 1 yd line and making your RB have to gain 9 yds into the strong side of the defense. There’s not even bravado in those calls.
@ It had a lot to do with Texas and vice versa but that doesn’t change questioning the playcalls by Texas. OSU didn’t make unnecessarily risky plays like Texas did and OSU took advantage and won the game on those plays.
i think the way to look at the 12 team playoff is not that it’s taking stuff away that the 4 team playoff did well but more so just building on it. Yes it may be hard for there to be a cinderella story in it like there is in march madness, but it allows there to be a chance for a smaller school to go and at least fight for a championship. it doesnt take anything away from previous years, just almost adds to it
I think..... (Lol) first, Texas had a fantastic game plan. Hold the line, cover the edges, attack the defense. At times, I think OSU was out coached, only to have speed and talent keep them ahead or caught up. Second, OSU did a great job of identifying what UT wanted to do and adjusted as needed immediately. Like I said, at times out coached. At times, the coaching was superior in placing the players in the right spot to make those 4th qtr plays. Hell of a game!!!
OSU has ALREADY tied All-Time Record for Wins over Top 5 teams in a Season with 4, if they win Natty with 4-game run thru Tennessee/Oregon/Texas/Notre Dame it will be “THE” most earned NC in CFB HISTORY ‼️🅾️
The expansion wasn't about giving a Cinderella team a chance to win the natty. It was about giving more teams a chance to compete because they were historically disadvantaged based on sec teams being overrated in the preseason poll. As a non sec fan, that is the most frustrating thing that occurs every year.
@@Number3boyzbig buckeye fan here and I agree. It gave me vibes of the Michigan game play calling. Run it right up the middle for no gain almost every play. Kept telling myself why aren’t we throwing bombs down the field like what we did against TN and OR? Well my question was answered in the 3rd when we tried that with emeka. 2 bombs no catches. I came to the realization that Texas secondary was playing tight coverage unlike TN and OR. And throwing lobs would be a 50/50 ball against TX. Now I didn’t always agree w the run down the middle game but I was humbled on the fact of why aren’t we throwing bombs all game long. I think osu fans underestimated Texas’s secondary and got comfortable with Tennesee and Oregon game throwing darts 30+ yards every other play. But at the end of it all OSU battled hard and did what it took to win. Can’t expect them to play every game like how they did against OR. Sloppy win tonight but hey we’re playing for a natty and have a chance to learn from today’s mistakes. Congrats to our team for fighting to the end. We’ve had the hardest path to the natty. The better this playoff gets, the more frustrating the thought that we missed out on so many of these matchups for decades because of corporate greed and politics. 1968 - Ohio St. and Penn State should have potentially met in the championship 1969 - An earlier version of this year's Ohio St. with a second chance; Penn St. would have no claims unless won on the field? 1970 - Could Notre Dame have beaten, Texas, Nebraska, & Ohio St? Noy likely. 1971 - Oklahoma vs Nebraska rematch? 1973 - Notre Dame/Alabama was a classic but Penn St. got screwed and Michigan/OSU left unsettled? 1974 - Oklahoma is out but could Notre Dame run the table and/or beat USC in a rematch after the regular season mishap and send Ara Parseghiam. out with back to back titles? 1978 - USC/Alabama rematch? No split? Decided outright on the field where it should be. Trojans beat the Tide during the regular season in Birmingham but what happens if Bama has to come out to the coast? Watch out for Oklahoma too. 1979 - USC 's Heisman winner Charles White vs Bear's BAMA defense? A dangerous darkhorse = Pitt w/Freshman, Dan Marino. 1980 - Avoid Pitt at all costs. 1981 - Avoid Pitt but moreso, Penn St. who caught fire and destroyed Pitt at the end of the regular season. Herschel Walker could also be a major headache for somebody. 1982 - SMU thought they could have beaten anyone. they should have had to play Georgia, Penn St., or Nebraska. 1983 - If Miami and Nebraska played 10 times, Nebraska would have beaten the 9 and would have likely slowed Bo Jackson (Auburn) down enough to rewrite history. 1984 - BYU wouldn't have made it past the 2nd round and that's being generous. 1986 - Oklahoma was much better than Penn St. and I've always believed they would have beaten Miami in a rematch anywhere but in the Orange Bowl and maybe even there. 1988 - Catholics vs Convicts rematch? FSU vs Miami rematch? 1989 - Florida St. started 0 - 2 but ran the table beating eventual champion, Miami but was Notre Dame actually still the best team? 1990 - Colorado/Georgia Tech no split but would either one have won? Not the way Miami looked in the Cotton Bowl 1991 - I'm picking Washington over Miami but we'll never know. 1993 - FSU with an opportunity to avenge its loss to Notre Dame and remove any doubt. 1994 - Penn St. screwed again. Danny Kanell was beginning to hit his stride but with a more lethal backfield w/Warrick Dunn and Rock Preston for FSU 1995 - Would Nebraska have done the same to Tennessee or Ohio St. they did to Florida? 1996 - Ohio St. still wants a piece of Florida but Michigan did it to them again. 1997 - Sorry Michigan but if you could get by Florida St. Nebraska get's in that ass. 2000 - Canes, Huskies instead? 2005 - Worked out perfectly! 2007 - Bunch of 2 loss teams; let's go! 2008 - What happens? Tebow vs Mark Sanchez; Sanchez vs Colt McCoy; McCoy vs Tebow; Sam Bradford vs Sanchez; McCoy vs Bradford II 2009 - Anybody for crying Tebow to get another shot at Alabama? Raising my hand. 2013 - Florida St. was able to avoid Alabama because of a kick 6. 2014 - Baylor and TCU would have to have been dealt with. 2015 - Ohio St. should have had the chance to defend their title. 2022 - 2-loss Alabama with returning Bryce Young would have been a lot of fun 2023 - FSU gets in bur Georgia wins 3rd straight. Instead, we had to wait to see what we knew all along. The polls are BS when it comes to crowning a champion.
AMEN! VERY GOOD! Especially agree about the JOKE of not letting OSU defend their title in 2015-- that was utterly ridiculous and disgusting! This expanded playoff is so much better, is long overdue, and finally makes D1 football something like a NORMAL league like all the others that have a regular season and a playoff.
All this shows is that the expansion of the playoffs is critical to getting the best teams to the big game. The old way of rating teams, placing top 4 teams is WRONG!
I think they should expand it to 16 teams. It gets the entire country involved. It's great for college football and ALL the fans. Looking forward to next season!
@@hookem33l7we already saw that 12 is too many - just my opinion that 8 is the sweet spot. The season is also too long with way too much time between regular season and the start of the playoff. Conference championship games are meaningless at this point too. All playoff games should be played on the campus of the higher ranked team in the order of CFP rankings.
Props to Ohio State, ya'll were just better than us. There's a ton I could say right now, but I'll keep my mouth shut. Best of luck against Notre Dame.
Ill say it... THE REFS GAVE THEM THE GAME. But yeah we still choked. But that doesn't negate the fact that the refs absolutely 100% unequivocally affected the outcome of this game... If we really keeping it real
OSU grad here. Great game. FYI we have been guilty of the EXACT same thing, NOT running straight ahead but trying to be cute and that almost never works. Especially against elite defenses. OSU team speed on D wasn't going to allow you to go wide, IMO.
I'm not counting out ND but the odds are definitely stacked against them. For ND to get this upset win their D will have to play their best game all season create turnovers to give the offense short fields where they must stay on schedule disciplined and find creative ways to score an control the clock for the most part. If they can do that they have a real chance.
As a ND fan, I love it, they think its Brian Kelly ND teams, like they didn't beat IU, Georgia and Penn State. People that actually anaylze the games and watch them all saw that ND has the size and speed this time around, they may not have the top end talent of OSU, but they don't have huge weaknesses, they have great coaching, they have good special teams, and they have an elite defense
16:40 … there’s no SEC team in the Championship… and an undefeated conference champion is not to be found. This format fundamentally changes everything about the sport.
Buckeyes pretty much blew out Tenn & Oregon so it was good to see them take some punches in the mouth from Texas for 4 quarters in a close game & still get the W. Go Buckeyes!
10:52 I’m a big fan of coach Sark and I couldn’t agree more with your stance on how he handled the first and goal situation. I think that he definitely had a set of four inside-the-tackle run plays that could have got him a yard. However, there were a lot of missed blocking assignments and it came down to the players who “wanted it more”. Unfortunately, the all-star Texas O-Line didn't appear to “want it more” than the all-star Ohio State D-Line in that instance. I'm excited to see what coach Sark brings to the table next season. HOOK EM 🤘🏽
Texas played their safeties so deep and did such a good job of taking away Smith, but I felt like Ohio State could have thrown 12-14 yard passes over the middle all day long because it was so open. Ohio State did that a lot but it looked they could have done it on every offensive play. And the 7 yard loss near the goal line completely changed the options of what Texas could do.
I honestly was so grateful as an OSU fan that he ran that pitch. OSU has two of the most aggressive down field run stopping safeties in the country. Glad it happened but definitely one of those what were you thinking about moments.
yeah that Thorpe award winning Caleb Downs....oh wait he didn't win it, they gave it to some smuck over there on the texas sideline that cannot single cover JJ Smith, instead they gave him help all night....But Caleb Downs...All over the field, making big time plays and big time tackles and the insult CFB did by not giving him his roses is disgraceful.
OSU wins many games in this fashion. They grind along, and then boom, someone makes a big play. They had two big ones last night. OSU always has superior athletes. They are fast and good. Texas did a great job shutting down Smith. So it was Henderson and Sawyer who came up huge. That is the difficulty of playing OSU. They have great players everywhere.
Meh, Texas plays better on the road. Only game we lost all season was at home. Texas also beat Nick Saban’s Alabama on the road. So I wouldn’t make too much of the game being played in Dallas
Been a buckeye fan my whole life and had many heart attacks this one almost got me go bucks❤️ love this team and the buckeye nation. Now Texas, we already knew this should have been the natty they have a top 5 defense we expected a low score game and it was… man what game! Hopeful it’s another classic showdown in the SHOE week 0 of the ‘25-‘26 season. Go bucks we have 1 more to go
The season arc of Beck, Milroe, and Ewers is so similar the last couple years now that they’re all essentially being forced to transfer after being preseason Heisman favorites.
That loss to Georgia a couple years ago was probably the worst loss in OSU history. Despite being underdogs against the defending champions, OSU had Georgia on the ropes the ENTIRE game and just couldn't get the knock out punch and in the end, they got burned for it when GA staged a dramatic last quarter comeback. Even still, OSU had a chance in the last drive but failed to finish the job (the drive floundered and then the missed long FG). No way they should have lost that game and had they won, they'd be the champions. Oh well. But, again, probably the worst loss in school history, I would think. Let a championship slip through their hands (and would have shut up their naysayers that year!)
Die hard Ohio state Buckeyes fan here. I am sick of hearing about how osu fans want Day gone. I live, work, and play in Ohio so I am constantly surrounded by Buckeye fans and what I hear and see on the daily is Buckeye fans complaining about sports media saying they want Day gone. The only people that I have heard complain know nothing about CFB.
Ohio had the hardest schedule bar none and has tackled it more convincingly than any other team period. They deserve the title more than Notre Dame. It's just that simple Also funny they should win the first 4 team playoff schedule and 12 team one
The analysis of play calling on the goal line sequence is absolutely spot on. Put the big bodies in and if you do try some trickery and run outside it has to be with Manning. So frustrating. Congrats to the Bucs though was a great game.
Notre dame is serious contender to Ohio State. Am getting nervous for Ohio State. ND has a top defense and held both Georgia and Penn State to low scores. Chip Kelly and Ryan Day need to come with serious plans.
@@pinakmiku4999 2023? Ohio State is 10x better than in 2023. Notre Dame will be blown out so bad by halftime that most people will turn the game off and go to bed. Going to be a very rough night. Ryan Day and Chip Kelly already won the national championship by beating Texas. The next game is just a formality to make it official so they can hand over the trophy. Notre Dame will never win a national championship ever again. The line is already at 9.5. Will be a complete and total blowout.
Texas played much better than I and many expected. Their Defense played Well and holding J Smith to 1 catch for 3 yds, unbelievable. Yes the penalties hurt OSU, stopped some drives in the first half. Texas has a lot of weapons and stat wise was equal to Ohio State. It was much closer than the final score
Maybe if you actually looked at Texas’ stats and watched how good the defense has played you wouldn’t have been surprised. Why tf did everyone think it was going to be a straight blowout?
To be fair the strategy of running up the middle four times against OSU inside the 3 is what James Franklin got crucified for.
He ran the same exact play 3 times and then an obvious play action off that, you can run the QB sneak over and over but running the same exact play 3 times was stupid
@ but that's literally what Josh advocated for in this video...? That's why I'm saying his take is wrong.
Ewers telling Sawyer (his former roomate) "screw you" and grinning was super cool.

@@IsaacMSingleton1and if they didn't, Ohio State would be playing out of the end zone and probably give Texas the ball back in good field position.
I think ND, Penn State, and Georgia are all about evenly matched. Throw them against each other and they all win games against one another.

Toss vs Cover 0 is a good call, Downs is just a future Hall of Famer
It wasn't a blitz at the end of the half. It was a basic 4 man rush with everyone else for texas dropped 20+ yards.
Sark begging for that targeting call was wild
Especially after the Arizona State game.
well normally they will review it and it prob looked like it to him from his angle so i get him trippin on it but with our camera angle on tv it clearly wasnt targeting. i guess with what happened with osu it adds to how wild it is tho
Things look different at field level
I am a Texas fan and thought it was a clean hit, maybe looked different from his POV
Honestly, if OSU had played cleaner, it wouldn't have been as close. The penalties and missed catches probably killed another 2-3 scoring drives. FWIW, I'm an SEC homer, not an OSU fan.
youre not wrong. even when they didnt get penatlies texas defense was making 3rd downs tough on em though.

Yeah, idk why it was such a big surprise.
Defense wins championships. It was their defense.

Brain farts are calling late simulated pressure with 15 secs left or a shotgun toss (not even under center) on 2nd and 1 yd line and making your RB have to gain 9 yds into the strong side of the defense. There’s not even bravado in those calls.
OSU did not play their best game. Period.
@ It had a lot to do with Texas and vice versa but that doesn’t change questioning the playcalls by Texas. OSU didn’t make unnecessarily
risky plays like Texas did and OSU took
advantage and won the game on those plays.
Arkansas fan but good game Texas always pull for you guys great defense this year. Texas isn’t going away
We wanted the expanded playoff so we wouldn’t have to hear how amazing the sec is.
THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES
i think the way to look at the 12 team playoff is not that it’s taking stuff away that the 4 team playoff did well but more so just building on it. Yes it may be hard for there to be a cinderella story in it like there is in march madness, but it allows there to be a chance for a smaller school to go and at least fight for a championship. it doesnt take anything away from previous years, just almost adds to it
How about this one: What if I told you that Caleb Downs will have as many catches as Jeremiah Smith?
WOW that's crazy! Thank you for sharing this amazing stat. Go Buckeyes
OSU will have beaten #1, #3, #4, #5, #7 and #8. OSU is #6, and UGA is #2.
Lost to Michigan.😂
@@5STARGAV Imagine caring about the regular season
@@5STARGAV Who did UCONN basketball lose to in the regular season the past 2 years? Who cares?
The expansion wasn't about giving a Cinderella team a chance to win the natty. It was about giving more teams a chance to compete because they were historically disadvantaged based on sec teams being overrated in the preseason poll. As a non sec fan, that is the most frustrating thing that occurs every year.
The play calling on the goal line at the end was AWFUL
Ohio state had bad play calling all game on offense.
Everyone saying Day can’t win big games. We took down TN, OR, and now TX. When every one else called us weak and to fire Day. Proud of how this team has responded🦍
As good as Sark is, this is back to back years with bad play calling in the red zone
TX got raw dogged period ❤😊
@@Number3boyzno they didn’t Texas defense is great at disguising their looks, they wed showing pressure so much then dropping out of it to throw him off, I love our dc and his game plan was top notch
The better this playoff gets, the more frustrating the thought that we missed out on so many of these matchups for decades because of corporate greed and politics.
1968 - Ohio St. and Penn State should have potentially met in the championship
1969 - An earlier version of this year's Ohio St. with a second chance; Penn St. would have no claims unless won on the field?
Not the way Miami looked in the Cotton Bowl
1991 - I'm picking Washington over Miami but we'll never know.
1993 - FSU with an opportunity to avenge its loss to Notre Dame and remove any doubt.
1994 - Penn St. screwed again. Danny Kanell was beginning to hit his stride but with a more lethal backfield w/Warrick Dunn and Rock Preston for FSU
1995 - Would Nebraska have done the same to Tennessee or Ohio St. they did to Florida?
1996 - Ohio St. still wants a piece of Florida but Michigan did it to them again.
1997 - Sorry Michigan but if you could get by Florida St. Nebraska get's in that ass.
2000 - Canes, Huskies instead?
2005 - Worked out perfectly!
2007 - Bunch of 2 loss teams; let's go!
2008 - What happens? Tebow vs Mark Sanchez; Sanchez vs Colt McCoy; McCoy vs Tebow; Sam Bradford vs Sanchez; McCoy vs Bradford II
2009 - Anybody for crying Tebow to get another shot at Alabama? Raising my hand.
2013 - Florida St. was able to avoid Alabama because of a kick 6.
2014 - Baylor and TCU would have to have been dealt with.
2015 - Ohio St. should have had the chance to defend their title.
2022 - 2-loss Alabama with returning Bryce Young would have been a lot of fun
2023 - FSU gets in bur Georgia wins 3rd straight.
Horns down. Played 2 good teams and lost to both of them.
@@drew7155😂haha know your quarterback gave us the game and your offensive line is terrible your coaching staff is terrible😂
@@detectiveharris8772😂 steers and queers not very good this year
@@drew7155 Hey, slow down. Ohio State's defense did not get one holding penalty from your O-Line. Duh. Sore loser.
OSU grad here. Great game. FYI we have been guilty of the EXACT same thing, NOT running straight ahead but trying to be cute and that almost never works. Especially against elite defenses. OSU team speed on D wasn't going to allow you to go wide, IMO.
I bet Notre Dame is thrilled that nobody thinks they have a snowball’s chance. To compare them to TCU is absolutely egregious.
@@jimmyc1518create turnovers? ND has created like 32 turnovers this year
@@getcloveryourself and they must create some more if they want to be crowned national champions imo.
I mean Drew Allar had one of the worst performances by a QB of all time and still should've won that game. There's no way OSU is THAT awful
I love Marcus Freeman. We are from the same part of Ohio. He is a really good coach. His Alma Mater will kick his *ss on the 20th.
Whatever you gotta tell yourself.
I don't think Ohio State beats Notre Dame's ass, but Ohio State wins.
@dankcoyote He is a Buckeye. I have to love him. He has little chance this year. The line may be to 11 by game time.
He would make a great assistant coach and eventually head coach at Ohio state
I'm not trash talking at all.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘proud of my longhorns hat's off to Ohio
16:40 … there’s no SEC team in the Championship… and an undefeated conference champion is not to be found. This format fundamentally changes everything about the sport.
Excellent Analysis!
Buckeyes pretty much blew out Tenn & Oregon so it was good to see them take some punches in the mouth from Texas for 4 quarters in a close game & still get the W. Go Buckeyes!
Great great great game. Can't wait for the rematch on Aug 30th. GO BUCKS ‼️
They did toss 10yd passes until Texas started pressuring the qb and playing tighter.
Credit the Texas pass rush. They were disruptive in the second half
Love you josh.
I guess some people owe Ryan Day an apology.
Well played game. Ohio State made the key plays when necessary. Hook'em.
Great game. Tip my cap to Texas. Played a heck of a game. Tough, tough team.
The Buckeyes flipped the horns upside down! Go Buckeyes! Texas played a heck of a game though! Much respect!
Lucky Vince young wasn't playing lol

OSU wins many games in this fashion. They grind along, and then boom, someone makes a big play. They had two big ones last night. OSU always has superior athletes. They are fast and good. Texas did a great job shutting down Smith. So it was Henderson and Sawyer who came up huge. That is the difficulty of playing OSU. They have great players everywhere.
Texas had the home field advantage too…
Meh, Texas plays better on the road. Only game we lost all season was at home. Texas also beat Nick Saban’s Alabama on the road. So I wouldn’t make too much of the game being played in Dallas
THOSE 21 POINTS WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN THE ONLY POINTS OSU WOULD HAVE SCORED IF THEY HADN’T STALLED SEVERAL DRIVES WITH PENALTIES.
Texas showed grit, you guys gave my Buckeyes all we could handle. Much respect
Best game all playoffs go bucks!!!
But hats off to ohio state and texas 😁😁👍👏
Never seen Pate with so much hair.
Best performance by Texas all season, I'd argue.
Not a OSU fan but I have them winning it all
I totally agree. Texas has all those big boys. Just go for the Tush Push. 4 times if you have to. Put in Arch and let him take the hits. 😂
It's just that simple
Also funny they should win the first 4 team playoff schedule and 12 team one
The analysis of play calling on the goal line sequence is absolutely spot on. Put the big bodies in and if you do try some trickery and run outside it has to be with Manning. So frustrating. Congrats to the Bucs though was a great game.
Was a good game was surprised Texas put up more of a fight than I expected them to
Dumb ass take, it was never going to be a blowout and Texas truly should have won.
What about all that Mighty SEC talk
Maybe watch some football and it wouldn’t have been.
Such a weird comment. Why would you expect Texas not to put up a good fight. Their defense is ranked as high as Ohio States defense.
Jack Sawyer made himself a legend
I wish manning would transfer from texas!!!!
As an LSU fan, I can neither support a Big10 team, nor oppose Catholics, therefore I will root for Notre Dame in the final. Geaux Catholics!
Notre dame is serious contender to Ohio State. Am getting nervous for Ohio State. ND has a top defense and held both Georgia and Penn State to low scores. Chip Kelly and Ryan Day need to come with serious plans.
Notre Dame will lose by 25 points
@ Looks like you forgot what happened in 2023!
@ People like you should stay away from buckeye team imo who takes opponent loosely and eventually lose at many instances.
Georgia and Penn State to a low score😂 they have no offense
Texas played much better than I and many expected. Their Defense played Well and holding J Smith to 1 catch for 3 yds, unbelievable. Yes the penalties hurt OSU, stopped some drives in the first half. Texas has a lot of weapons and stat wise was equal to Ohio State. It was much closer than the final score
Maybe if you actually looked at Texas’ stats and watched how good the defense has played you wouldn’t have been surprised. Why tf did everyone think it was going to be a straight blowout?
