I’m wondering if the first part is at Mount Mitchell. It’s actually the highest peak in the eastern United States at 6684 feet. I was there backpacking with friends in the early 80s. Their little Kmart tent blew down in the middle of the night, but I stayed snug as a bug in a rug. A company I used to buy some things from called Early Winters had aGore-Tex cocoon that you could just roll out and put your sleeping bag inside of it. Not room for much equipment, but an instant tent, and one that wouldn’t blow down. 😜
Have lived and visited many beautiful parts of this country. But the subtle and serene beauty of the The Parkway kept calling to me. Love calling NC Home!
@@sammy9103 👍 I’m also in NC, Asheville. I’ve done the full length, plus Skyline extension in Va. twice. I highly recommend it. There’s nothing quite like spending several days, coasting with no traffic, no view of box stores and signs. I stop at most of the overlooks and have no agenda or schedule.
Love the Asheville area; we try to visit once a year. On our last trip this past spring, in one day, we twice encountered a mother with cubs. We were in our car, but like everyone else, we pulled over to watch them. Those were moments I won't forget.
Many years ago I had a roommate who lived here, showed me absolutely some of the most beautiful, amazing nature, thank you for reminding me.....i will make it yhere some day🌠🌠🌠🌠😍😍🌄🌄
I miss the mountains. The sights & sounds are magically transforming to the soul.
Thank you for sharing.✌️

Best 👌 part of the show. Been here since 1983. I'm going to be 56 years old in a few months 🎉
Thank you, wonderful, magical sight- a balm this Sunday.
I’m a native New Englander who lived in NC for seven years. I miss the Blue Ridge Parkway so badly!
My husband and I have traveled the whole parkway! It is absolutely beautiful!
Us too. Started at Front Royal Virginia and ended up in Cherokee,,North Carolina.
Love the foggy, misty hills.
I am so happy to live 90 minutes away from this glorious scenery!
Love this area, so beautiful. Visit every year.
One of the prettiest regions of the country. I feel grateful that I live 15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway

@@tjwash2 Been to Asheville many times! Im in the Foothills.
Skyline sounds awesome, will have to do that!
@@sammy9103 it’s pretty similar to the BRP. You probably know, it’s in the Shenandoah National Park. I mostly tagged it in just to say I did it.
I live less than 15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway , and I wouldn't have it any other way. ❤
Need to put that on my bucket list of things to see.👍
So do I, milepost 393.
I'm not far away either.
Reside in the foothills, Morganton.
