I have been using your OTM system for some weeks and it is really a useful task managing system. Many others on UA-cam are too simple or two complicated.
I'm so glad to hear that. I love that you actually moved from theory to practice and started implementing the system! I'll do a quick update on some things I further improved on OTM, but the essence of it stays the same, so keep on using it! Also, let me know what else would you want me to tackle on a future Notion video, I'll make sure to cover it. Thank you so much for your comment, means a lot to me!
Thanks a lot, It's all about mindset... Years ago business managers has just pen and papers, and they achieve a ton, I always dreams of being so productive, and I want to build consistent routine around a system that I create, But it never works for me, so I decide something, I'll use pen and paper, then calendar for important dates, and it works like a charm. Why it works? because I focused on priority tasks, and I minimize number of tasks that I have, Now I need to integrate my team so I'll use same concept with notion... Thanks a lot
100%. I’ve been drawn more and more towards simplicity and love the pen and paper as well, in addition to operating from the calendar more than from a to-do list. The more we play with these systems, the less we actually do haha. Keep it up!
ok, I was going to give up as I don't understand how to get stuff out of the inbox except when i'm done, so I'm a bit lost. I will watch video again...ok I figured it out. I have to click Actionable for EVERYTHING. How do I get stuff into some day and waiting. Sometimes I'm waiting for clients to send me stuff..Also do you have a note system...
I loved the template, the concepts and the minimalist style. I just would like to know, how to create recurring taks forever, like a habi tracker. Should i use the tasks database to input the tasks, recurrent? still kind confuse how to plan, where do I input all the tasks that there is my mind and I want to do
Thanks! You could create recurring templates within the tasks database, but I prefer to use something like Todoist to easily manage all of your recurring tasks, and then in a weekly planning session you’d input the tasks for the following week into Notion, while checking them off on Todoist. It’s less time consuming than what it seems haha. You can input all the tasks in your mind in the inbox. I’ll create a future video with an updated version of the system that’s even simpler and as effective!
Thanks for the encouragement and support! Means a lot. Focusing on dialing in Shorts workflow and combining both long form videos and short form nuggets of wisdom by the end of the year. This is just the beginning! 😉
After you have called Clark Kent, why cant the system automatically populate the inbox with get him a new suit? Seems silly to rely on remembering when it is an automatic response.
You could create a task template for that, but I found it easier to use an app like Todoist to set recurring tasks (or the calendar with reminders) and then go over it on a weekly review and planning.
You’d have to enable “sub-tasks” in the database properties. I don’t truly like how Notion handles them, but they are there if you want. I’d rather just create a few checkboxes inside the task page.
@@francaram Thanks, for the things I do it helps me keep track of these sub-items, last question how to change the timezone? it looks like it's a day behind from where I am from. I can't see what I entered for the day
@@iam1ee You can change the time zone inside the date property, however, I don't think that's the problem you're having. Lots of us are having the issue of dates being a day behind in the app. Try using the web app (enter notion.so) and you'll most likely see the appropiate date.
@@francaramI would argue using CalDAV is more useful as you can collaborate and schedule meetings while using it as a database any (CalDAV) app can interpret. With this the schedule is strictly based on your notion database, which I suppose has the pro of being simple and focused
@francaram oh interesting. I broke my wrist had 15 physio appointments and nothing will make it bend. So I'm currently in waiting room to see Dr. On next steps. Good luck with yours! At least I can use mine, mouse is fine.
I’m not dissing in any form. I admire Ali and he’s been a great teacher of mine. I’m just showing that at the beginning because I’ve heard people wanting to get into this space but feeling overwhelmed by it. I’m not disregarding him in any way, in fact I didn’t, it’s a great standard of excellence to aim to once you start getting into this world. Hope you understand and that this doesn’t get misunderstood. Thank you for pointing it out anyway!
This is actually insane. So clean and concise, I'm looking forward to trying it.
Thank you Zack! Hope it brings you mental clarity and focus 🙌
I really like the simplicity and effectiveness of your system.
Thank you so much Peter! More to come 😁

Nice video bro

Good Job, but what if I need to customize recurring tasks to be weekly, monthly or yearly?
You could create a task template for that, but I found it easier to use an app like Todoist to set recurring tasks (or the calendar with reminders) and then go over it on a weekly review and planning.
@@francaram Thanks 😊 🙏

well thank you
More than welcome! 😁🫡
Can you monitor the time you take of each task?
Not easily inside Notion, but you can use something like Toggl to track time way easier.
is there a way to add a sub item to a current task?

Is it possible to load iCal events into this?
It’s really tricky. It’s much more preferable from my perspective to operate directly from the calendar and schedule the to-do items into your days.
