Yes. The FA24DIT makes as much power as a 2021 STI with a tune and no bolt ons. STI swap with diff is around 8k, the two remaining thousands spent on COBB AP, CAI, exhaust (stretching the budget if new here) and you have a far more powerful WRX that beats that 2021 STI at stock. That 10k is based off of the highest trim (TR), which has the Brembo brakes and the racing seats, but realistically an STI in this economy would be closer to 55K, and since TRs aren't selling well because of the tS coming out you can get one 5K under MSRP, which is what I did. That opens the doors financially to coilovers, wheels, more bolt ons. The engine is good for ~450 before it needs to be built for reliability. My TR is going to be a monster by the end of this month.
In what world is an STI 55K? You can get a great VA low miles all day at 30-40K. Hell you can even get a warranty for 5 years if you went through CarMax. “With only $10,000 in modifications it can beat an STI!” Is crazy.
Power wise yes. Close to handling yes. But if you were to buy an STI trans and get it installed, buy the brembos, it will already be close to the 10k. I use to have a 2020 wrx ( great car) and traded it in for 2020 STI. STI feels like a much more solid car is the best way to explain it. No matter how much I modded the wrx I still wish I had the STI and it never felt as solid. So STI all day if you can afford it.
@@gersonr7476 my comment still stands even with the VB model which I have driven. Great car. Powerwise yes ,handling yes, but still have to get money to buy the trans and get it installed, brembos (if you’re buying the one with brembos already not much cheaper maybe even more) . Heavy mental rex did a video comparing it he 2 and the VB driver drove the STI as well. His comment was “the STI just feels more solid and the VB just doesn’t feel as solid” you can’t really explain other than that you have to feel it.
Well it all depends. The 2008 WRX was such a trash can that they redid the 2009 under the hood. To look at it you’d think it was pretty much the same car. But the 2009 WRX would out run the 2009 STI. It was faster to 60 and was faster in the 1/4. After that I’d say the STI would be faster. But as far as 0-60 & 1/4 for the money you can’t go wrong with the 2009 WRX. I’d still like to have the 6 speed and the adjustable diff just cause I like toys. But I’ve modded my 2009 WRX with full down pipe to the muffler with Cobb parts and a Cobb cold air intake including a Cobb mass air flow and the Cobb tuner and sure a faster car would always be more fun but I can’t imagine needing more power than what I already have. I was a die hard Honda fan boy through and through. All it took was the drive home in my WRX and I’ll never look back. I do wish I could disable the front wheel just so I could destroy my back tires but my last Dyno was 526 HP I can’t imagine how much money it would cost to get a Honda anywhere close to that and still be drivable. Plus I can drive in the snow. I love that car.
First let me ask is it the stock ej255 or did you do a ej257 swap? I think stock block ej can handle max 400hp reliably where as the 255 can maybe run 300-350. If not did you do forged internals? I have a 13 with a stock ej 255 block and a 6 spd swap. I have killer B headers, cobb sf intake, blouch 440xt turbo, aem fuel pump, 1050x injectors which put me around 475hp but my tuner was like you run that hp on a stock block that thing will probably be sending a rod into orbit. What all did you do?
Are we talking about the new WRX? For 10k you can make it better than a STI

@ wow, you are dense.
@@0kaga an STI produced today would easily cost 55K or more based on current car prices and inflation.
Good question

I think in this video, they are strictly talking about the VB WRX. It's much more solid than the VA WRX that you mentioned.

Enjoying my modified fa20… if I purchase the sti my wrx would still be driven on the regular.
Buy the STI and mod it🗿
