Found one brand new in the box at Goodwill for $4.99. They're currently selling at Walmart for $30 bux. Installed mine, works great. It can even be put on constant as well (if the circuit is switched).
MY KOda Light worked great for about a year then one of the three lights went out. I should just go by a light that is not junk. They have no help on their sight to fix it.
@@WingingItDIY Your Costco "Home Zone" security light's brightness is 3000 lumens. Andy says his Home Depot "Defiant" one is 1000 lums, which I assume is lumens, so isn't your "Home Zone" three times brighter?
I just bought the same light set up off of eBay for like 30 bucks and just install it on my house at my front door You need to run caulking all the way around it to make it waterproof and then on the little switch box on the bottom you need to turn it upside down from the way it is now it says it on it to face one side up
@@WingingItDIY I would only caulk around the top and sides, best to leave the bottom part bare in case moisture gets inside the box it can escape at the bottom
Issue straight out of the box....mounting plate on back of unit does NOT separate from it. I've seen videos where it's already separated, or removed by unscrewing bolt. (my bolt will loosen, but will not release mounting plate). Any suggestions?
Hey ding 🛎 dong the buttons go towards the bottom of sensor head not on top. There’s great big words on it that says point this side up. Look at the box. So go out and turn your motion head so the light switches are on the bottom . This makes it easier for you to change them from the ground also if you look in the directions it should show you with the head pointing in the right direction that the sensor goes out side to side so many degrees but also points down at an angle so many degrees. This way it’ll pick things up from under the head all the way out to the yard. With it upside down your infrared sensor is shooting up at the sky.all Motion sensors of an upside and a down side.if I could send you a pick of how they work I would but trust me.
Yes, as described on page 9 of instruction manual under "Manual Override Function". Assuming you have a light switch that controls power to the Security Camera, just turn the switch OFF - ON - OFF - ON within 3 seconds. Then the light will stay on for 6 hours, or until dawn. The manufacturer describes this "Manual Override Function" at time 1 min 53 secs in its installation video: ua-cam.com/video/wI09DhSfJJo/v-deo.html Here is instruction manual: mobilecontent.costco.com/live/resource/img/static-us-pdf/1600041.pdf
Wipe all plastics down with Windex and use an automotive ceramic coating/sealer on it as described by whatever brand you use. It will add many years to the service life of the plastic. UVA/UVB inhibited, chemical resistant used on plastic auto trim works very well. Buy the more expensive brand for your car/truck and use it around the house as well, you won't regret it. Good work installing the system!!!
Ours stays all night up. How do i just put on motion only? These lights cover a very large area but don't want all night up

I noticed that but mine does not turn all the way, it's almost like it was mounted upside down from the factory.

I got lucky they were on sale for only 29.99, bought 2 today. Nice vid
Thank you! That is a great deal!
I just got 4 for $100 at a local liquidation store good deal 👍🏼
The “extra bright” button is not for the brightness. You select the time of day that you want the light to come on.
Thank you! I realized that after I read through the manual. The label on the sensor itself is not very intuitive.
What if my house isn't grounded? Do I just connect the neutral and hot?
Is the electrical box metal? Often the metal boxes themselves are grounded and you can attach the ground from the light to the box.
@@WingingItDIY Yep, I figured that out yesterday during the install haha Thanks for the reply bro! It's a pretty solid light for the money!

What does the top amd middle switch control on the bottom of the motion sensor?
Great video
Thanks!

Your sensor is in the wrong up and down direction. The push button should be below
I’m not so sure that plastic would hold up in the south Florida sun. I’ll look at Home Depot for something else.
Ya, if I lived in the south I would probably go for something more metal.
I am in Oregon and so far thew wind and storms have not hurt it.. only issue is after one year one of the lights went out.. so not buying any more...
Can you turn of motion and leave it on all night ?
I have the same question.

Very interesting, never thought of that. I have some Avalon King laying around I may just do that. Thanks for the tip!
