Am I the only one that finds Laura to be completely humble with her teaching and ideas of cooking. Absolutely amazed by her warmth and prolific attitude.
No you are not! She's wonderful!!
Amjad Michael Khan yes i agree!....... love her!!!.
She have a beautiful energy
I am Chinese and I think you do it right! Just add some oyster sauce when making the sauce will make it better.
Yausing Chan I remembered she added oyster sauce already when she prepared for her beef
Do you have to add oysters sause?
Siree Micky that was soy sauce 😒
She could have used olive oil instead of vegetable oil, which I usually prefer using.
Nope, can forget the oyster sauce.
I just made this and I used chicken instead of beef and uses sesame oil because I like it lol and it was FANTASTIC!! Way better than take out !!!
Good idea!!
Hey Laura! thank you for the dinner idea! I made this for me and my parents and it was AMAZING! put a little Sriracha in the broth and soy sauce mixture with a touch of sesame oil and it tasted amazing. threw in some toasted sesame seeds as well. they loved it!
I'm taking your ideas!!
All the recipes I have tried from Laura are so easy and delish, she doesn't just make it look easy. Thank you Laura and Joe!
Please would love to see more stir fries.. I just love the simplicity of it.. As with kids I get very little time in the kitchen
This is the best cooking show ever... Thank you, Laura!! 💙💙
I have a Lagostina wok/frypan and just love it. I also have a stainless wok with the base ring and rack. I like the lagostina way better because it is so easy to flip-toss the food in it.
Going to make this right now for a late lunch! Thank you Laura and Joe for sharing so much with us! You are both so talented...and loved.
Finally, someone else who understands how overpowering sesame oil can be. I see others on UA-cam adding tablespoons of the stuff to their stir frys. I can't put in more than two drops without it tasting entirely like sesame.
I'll second that. Sesame oil is very potent stuff. I never use more than a few drops. Very small drops :)
AMEN!! Anything more than a couple TEENSY drops is just too much-- but I do really like the flavor it adds. Feel like that's what makes it taste like my favorite take-out place...
Lol i made that mistake once.. Never again! I added a couple tablespoons to my noodles.. Nope.. That sesame oil went straight to the trash.
Wow! Great healthy and fresh meal after stuffing ourselves with all those holiday goodies! Haha, nice recipe Laura and we appreciate the time and effort that you take into making each and everyone of these videos. We love you Laura and we hope you get better! Love you forever! XOXO ~ Kevin 😊👍✌️
Stir-frying is the best. You can get dinner on the table so quickly ❤️
Just finished making this for dinner tonight and it is DELISH!!! Thanks!!!
Did you follow the recipe exactly? Or you made your own changes? Reading all comments to make it myself this weekend and am loving some suggestions.
I followed it exactly initially then realized I bought about half a pound more of meat than the recipe called for so I winged it thereafter. I just threw everything in to taste - it turned out really good. The only thing I'd suggest is preparing all of your ingredients before hand, like Laura does, because it makes it so much easier. I almost never cook from an actual recipe, I throw things together so having a tablespoon of this or that was odd for me, lol. I bought more meat to make it again this week (my hubby loved it), & will totally wing it now that I know the basic ingredients. I hope you make it & love it as much as my husband and I did. :) Good luck!!
jacquline theis thank you!
OMG! First, that looks amazing, as always, second, I thought I was the only person who like leftovers cold from the fridge! I especially love cold cashew chicken! Not to mention cold spaghetti and meatballs. So I guess if I'm a freak, I'm in good company! LOL!
My Grandma always made cold spaghetti sandwiches the next day, they were better than dinner the night before. Your in great company!
I do all the time but because I don't want the clean up involved in heating it. LOL
I don't know about spaghetti and meatballs, but I gotta admit I love fried rice and chow mein straight from the fridge!
Watching her videos at 3 o'clock in the morning, yes, I do love torturing myself with all these delicious food with nothing else in our fridge to eat
I love your recipies, I'm the type of person that cant cook for anything unless i have guidance lol and you help me a lot. I was wondering if you could show us more healthy dishes like this. I am trying to loose my pregnancy weight and would love to see some healthy dishes i can make to add variety to my diet.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves cold leftovers!! I would love more stir fry recipes, please! Maybe something with snap peas, green beans, zucchini, or sweet potato?
I like how she's quick & str8 to the point. it's not a lng drawn out 30 minute video like sum of the others.
Perfect timing ! I have been craving broccoli beef for two days and just bought some broccoli yesterday. Hahaha! Great minds... Or should I say, great tummies think alike. :-)
I have a family of 5 and I love to make this. I usually toss in some fresh corn, green beans and sliced carrots. We just call it "country kitchen stir fry". This same amount happily feeds my hubby and I as well as our teen daughter, pre-teen daughter and 9yr old growing boy. :) Feel better soon Laura.
Thank you Laura for this recipe it is delicious and so easy to make you are my favorite UA-cam cooking channel your recipes have helped me so much with feeding my family your videos have taught me so many dishes. I didn't have no one to teach me cooking techniques growing up but now that I'm married and a mother of 3 beautiful girls I'm proud that I've learned easy delicious dishes all thanks to you !❤️
Whenever I get take out I always get beef and broccoli. You've opened the doors to possibilities Laura Vitale!
( :*) crying tears of never ending joy)
Woll Cookware makes quite a good chinese wok for a western (German) brand. A good wok needs to be thin enough so the heat transfers quickly rather than the need to "retain" heat compared to western skillets. It also need to be light so you can handle it easily to help stir the content from the bottom up quickly during the cooking process.... hence, "stir" fry. Woll's Saphire-Lite or S-Lite range has a 30cm wok, you can check that out. My mother-in-law is chinese and cooks solely chinese food, we got her this one and she's very happy with it.
I'm a new subscriber actually, and your channel has become my holy grail for cooking EVERYTHING! Thank you for sharing these awesome recipes!
For those of u who want to try this out: My boyfriend tried this recipe and thought it was very good. It was his first time doing a stir fry. He tried to work fast but still overcooked the meat and broccoli by one minute (did 3 min in total for each). So if it is your first time doing a stir fry, try using a timer and make sure all your ingredients are ready and next to u, it could really help, that extra minute really made the beef tougher and the broccoli soggy :) the ginger and brown sugar were very well balanced and came out subtle, so you can double the qty if you like it gingery or more on the sweet side.
Beef and broccoli is one of my favorite Asian dishes. Flank steak is not as scrumptious as sirloin, but is an inexpensive alternative for those on a tight budget who would still like to enjoy the dish. Toasted walnuts sprinkled over the top is the pièce de résistance, IMHO, further accentuating the earthy flavors of the broccoli and beef.
I’ve owned every kind of wok from stainless steel to a Farberware electric wok (no longer manufactured, unfortunately). The electrics cannot compete with a high heat burner, but they still have a place in my heart; in college, I survived with the Farberware exclusively and made everything in it from legs of lamb to pizzas, and every kind of Asian dish including steamed sponge cake. But, the heat NEVER approaches that of a HIGH HEAT burner; again, the delimiting factor is always how many BTUs you can get off of your burner.
After saying all of that, I will say that the plain, nonelectric stainless was my LEAST favorite. I prefer the economical carbon steel which you can still get at places for $20, but I also have a warm spot in my heart for the Taiwanese style carbon steel which is a one-piece. It has a nice gently rounded “dish”. There is no wooden handle but if worried about heat, a wooden dowel can be purchased and retrofitted. Carbon steel heats up fast and the only proviso with this one is to treat it as you would cast iron-wash it with hot water only, no soap; after which you oil and dry it immediately. Don't waste money on any nonstick surface woks; manufacturers of nonstick cookware advise against using them on high heat, thus precluding use for high heat stir-frying.
Whichever wok you choose should be of adequate size for the type of cooking you plan to do. Obviously, if you’re going to stir fry for only one or two, you don’t need a huge wok but if doing so for 8 people, you’ll require a much larger wok unless you don’t mind spending your time in the kitchen remaking the dish in batches. Woks with lids are also nice to have but you can improvise.
By the way, I have a large, AllClad d5 "Essential Pan" that cost over $250 that I sometimes use for stir-frying. It cooks very similarly to the $20 carbon steel wok but does not have the advantage of higher sloping sides. The AllClad heats up more slowly but retains heat longer-sometimes a disadvantage when you want to pull the dish off the heat before something overcooks. The AllClad will stick occasionally because it is not "seasoned" and it will never be "seasoned" unlike a well-loved and used carbon steel pan because it is not intended for a buildup of carbonized oils as is the case with a carbon steel wok or cast iron pan. Love my AllClad but it would never replace my wok.
Happy wok'ing! :-)
P.S. You are much more generous person than I because there are three things I NEVER loan or give away: my books, videos or cookware; I'll purchase new ones for friends but never allow my own out of my sight.
Love your show Laura! HUGE FAN! :-)
Suggestion-you should do a live show all about cooking BASICS. Or a normal show and just ask people for questions/ideas ahead of time.
How to properly do basic things in the kitchen that beginner cooks may not know the right way and that you don't explain on your shows because they are just so basic. Maybe things like how to cut certain things, basic rules for sautéing/steaming/roasting veggies, etc. Many many other things I just can't think of more right now haha :-) I think a lot of people would like that. Also a Laura's favorites type of video, what you eat for breakfast, snacks, fav foods, etc.! Love you Laura! And Joe :-)
Oldie but a goodie, still use this today..thanks
I was just looking for a recipe with Broccoli and then this comes up in my feed! Amazing :).
Hi, Laura found your beef and broccoli recipe today. I just finished making it a little while ago. I added two shredded carrots at the very end so as to not over cook. I did of course shred/clean off the outer most part of carrots prior to adding to pan. All together delicious. Thanks and take care. Keep on cooking!
You are always my go to girl for any recipe!!!!!!
This is a simple yet classic dish over here in Asia country...great comfort food always!
I just made this and am eating it now. Delicious! The only thing I did different was used frozen florets and ground ginger (1/8 tsp) since I didn't have fresh. Thank you so much.
Delicious love it when my mom make stir fry she just chops up whatever vegetables and meat on hand and chucks it in :)
Another great effort, by Laura in the Kitchen!!!
Easily feed 6 people????? Are you serious?? I can easily eat it by myself!!!
I was thinking the same thing haha
Really? I can easily see how it would feed six! It's huge.
She said If you have side dishes so def can feed 6 or I say 4 maybe 5
Well, yeah, with side dishes. Whoever eats without side dishes?
(jk, I am sure some people do)
well that's just you !

First recipe that I tried in my new wok. It was delicious and inspired me to make more wok dishes.
I made this tonight with chicken instead of beef soooooo good! Laura you never fail me!
I just tried this I can not believe how fast I made this! It was also very delicious topped it with some chili sauce! Thanks Laura 💜
You know your a foodie when you watch many videos a day for fun...
I love your videos...easy to follow and yummy recipes. Can't wait to try this one. Think I will add either cashews or water chestnuts and carrots.
I normally marinate my beef with soy sauce and a little bit of cornstarch just like Laura does but I also add in 1 tsp sugar and 1 tsp of oyster sauce, it's makes the beef taste absolutely delish. Please give that a try Laura!!!
I've watched a few Asian videos . They suggest using a corn starch on your beef before cooking.
The thought here is the corn starch helps get that nice Browning on the outside, while keeping the meat nice and tender and juicy.
The other idea is using both a light soy sauce, and a dark soy sauce.
The darker one provides great color and just a touch if sweetness.
Just a thought here for you to try .
Hope you feel better and get well ASAP !
At home, we have a hammered carbon steel handmade wok. It's huge! We love it!! We have the utensils including the cleaning whisk. Seriously, awesome buy!
Very interested in trying this! Thanks for a healthier, quick easy option to a classic!
This recipe was delicious and what’s even better is that I already had these ingredients at home so I didn’t have to go grocery shopping. Thank you 😊
Hope you feel better. It's always good to see you. Happy new year :) please take care of yourself.
Just made this for our weeknight dinner. I added equal amount oyster sauce with soy sauce and half the sugar. Delicious!! Thank you Laura 😊
I have two woks - one is cast iron and the other stainless steel. I love them both. I can't remember the cast iron brand, but the stainless steel is a Calphalon. Flat bottom is by far my favorite to work with.
i was sick over the holidays :(
get better laura. love, love, love your channel ;)
1Teaspoon ground ginger, 1 teaspoon cider vinegar, 1
Tablespoon lemon, 1 tablespoon honey and add everything to very hot cup of

D.T. Grosz
My bad. I thought you were referring about the broccoli recipe
No worries!

This looks yummie! My dad always tell me that when you buy a wok you need to go to an Asian store... The ones that are made in Korea are usually the best brand. I have mine for years!
Thank you lady! Cooked it to night and all went well, my family loved it!!!!!!! Much love love
I made this a few hours ago and it was sooo good (despite my not so advanced cooking skills)--thank you Laura! Adding the onions is a great idea!
Laura! you're making me so happy with these Asian dishes! I love them :) what I like to do is put a little bit of oyster sauce (about a tablespoon or 2 depending on the amount I'm making. Like a 1/3 oystersauce to 2/3 soy sauce ratio.). It really creates a extra layer of flavor besides the soy sauce.
Thank you so much for the recipe made it for dinner tonight and the fiancée loved it!! Super easy and fast to make.
Love love love this recipe. This is exactly how my husband cooks it. Thanks for sharing. Get well.
I like adding bamboo shots to it. Tastes so good!
Thank you Laura I made this tonight and everyone loved it .
Laura, You are the best. Just made this dish and as you said, quick and delicious. Will try with shrimp and chicken. That sauce is a winner. Thanks
We have two woks one is the Le Creuset which is a great wok but OH SO HEAVY! Our second one is one we bought in the Asian grocery store. I would recommend one of these as if you treat it right and season the metal as you should it will last for years. Glad to hear you are feeling much better x Happy New Year to both you and the ever lovely Joseph :)
It looks great I can't wait to make it, I hope feel better soon. I watch your vlog I was sick around the time your Joe was sick so I feel for you..
Laura, you are such a trooper... that's why we all love you,"The show must go on." This is the perfect dish I'm going to be whipping this up for lunch. Very SOON!!! Get well, drink a lot of liquids, have some chicken soup. Hope Joe is better too.
I highly recommend one of the Breville electric woks. I've had mine for over seven years and it still works great.
Looks beautiful!! A nice dish to have after all the Christmas feasts!!
Dear Laura, my wife and I learned from some Asian neighbors we had several years ago, that the addition of Oyster Sauce to the Soy Sauce and Corn Starch (and the sugar of course) on Stir Fry in general but definitely on Beef & Broccoli made a difference. They usually used Peanut Oil for cooking and added just a few drops of Sesame Oil at the end along with toasted sesame seeds and green onions. Try it. P.S. Keep up the good work!
I love your cooking. You make it easy ti understand and having fun making it the way we all like it! It looks yummy!!
Made it this evening, it was lovely. We had some eggnoodles and limes with it. Delicious!
Thanks again Laura!
As long as you cooked the food i dont care wether you use new or old wok! Love your food!
omg i'm so hungry right now ! :D
i want to cook my first dinner for my parents i think i'll cook excactly this ! thanks :)

Oh my lord !! I've been waiting for this recipe forever!! Thank you soo much for making this!! I will be sure to try it out!!
The fact is it is so good I love it when you try it you get a bit more
Thanks for your effort in showing us this when you are not well! Can't wait to try it :) hope you get well soon xxx
Hi Laura, I've enjoyed several of your recipes, my family and I really like them. But recently I need recipes for diabetes, and I was thinking that maybe you have some that I can use? Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us
If you are planning to buy a wok, get one made of carbon steel. It's recommended for most oriental cooking and develops that toasted or charred flavor through time. Properly seasoned, it becomes non-stick. Also heats up and cools quickly.
Stir fry is one of my favourite foods, I love putting carrots, bell peppers, and some zucchini to add a bit more color and flavor. 😋 Love you Laura 😊
we enjoy it every time
sliced water chestnuts or canned bamboo shoots are also good for this recipe to add another layer of flavor and texture.
My favorite Wok is a hand hammered carbon steel wok that is thick on the bottom and thin on the sides. This is the authentically Chinese style the thicker bottom hold a lot of heat for searing quickly and cooking food then what you do is to pull the food up to the sides where the this sides give up heat easily and keep food warm without cooking it. The fancy modern western style woks are just pots with wide sides and just don't work the same. Go to your nearest Chinatown and find the best cookware shop, make friends with the owner and get a genuine hand hammered wok, (you'll be able to see the many hammer marks that formed its shape) and you can cook like the Chinese meant you to do it.
My favorite style of cooking; stir fry :) I make this all the time and it is very easy to whip up. This is making me crave for some.
Can you make it for me? Hahaha
LOL. You have the recipe right here but sure, I don't mind :D
Hello Laura, I am a new subscriber and wanted to let u know my family of 4 Loved this dish! I made exactly the same except with a 1lb and a 1/2 beef. So yummy with white rice and egg rolls. This recipe is a keeper. Cant wait to try more recipes. Thank u so much!
Brilliant Laura, just made this! Quality food in 10 mins. Brilliant.
I'm actually going to the store now to get all the ingredients. Thanks Laura this was easy.🍚
I did this recipe, it was great... Laura you should be on the food network!
Made this last night and it was delicious! I would agree it makes plenty enough to feed 6.
Happy New Year! Your beef and broccoli looks delish!
As for the sesame oil, you should definitely add it! For that amount you would only need about 1/2 a teaspoon or 1/4 of a teaspoon. It makes such a big difference!
Glad your feeling better
Thanks for the recipe, Im going to use the flank steak for this - looks so good and I just love recipes that dont have 20 ingredients, thanks again.
Oh TY! For asking that question about what woks people recommend. I love woks, but never invested in a good one and really want some ladies and gentlemen to help me out with this too :)
Hi Laura, I love all of your recipes!! And my family too 🇮🇹
Can't wait to try this. This is my favorite take out food. You should come up with a sweet and sour chicken meal or some vegetable fried rice now. Thanks!
Good recipe, luckily my son loves broccoli so do my husband. Thanks laura for this recipe and the desserts, thankyou very much
Alright guys she obviously knows everybody's different, maybe just the people she knows or her family members don't eat much so that's why she said it can feed 6 people.
It was just a generalization, no need for nasty comments.
Laura's amazing 😁
Just made it, so delicious...never eating this out again, best! TY Laura
I'm making this tomorrow night for dinner Laura!
