I just want to say that I think you are wonderful for taking your personal time to inform people for FREE mind you!! You seem to be so dedicated to helping people and I wish that every Dr. was as passionate and knowledgeable as you!! Thank you for taking your time to educate people.
I have learned so much from your videos!!
Do 90% of your shopping in the first aisle of the store. Fresh fruits and veggies. I know from my personal experience this doctor is 100% correct in all that he is saying. Trust me, feeling better and getting your life back is worth the extra few bucks on the grocery bill. You can even grow your own fresh vegetables to save money.Plus, cutting out dairy, sugar and gluten will actually save you money on your bill. Just replace it with fresh foods. I was bedridden w/pain and fatigue...no more.
Dr. Clark is speaking truth and I appreciate his advice.
i wish all doctors were like him
@clarkchiro You are the first person to acknowledge that it can be pricey and give options.Thank you
sugar, soy, caffeine, wheat, dairy to eliminate..seriously, what is left ?
can you name a couple of foods to ADD to our diet ? is lemon ok ?
thanks
You know what sucks? Being poor and having fibro. Cheap foods usually have everything in them you're supposed to avoid. I can't afford to buy gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-and-artificial-sweetener-free, soy-free stuff all the time. Seriously, I can't afford to eat meat and fresh greens every day.
Thank you David Clark for this information my doctor told me just what you said about gluten dairy and sugar. I thought it was way too simple and I almost did not follow his advice. But when I did, I experienced a lift from brain fog, which was a major symptom that was stopping me from research for myself information of CFS and Fibromyalgia. I also began to experience breaks in my awful days and once in a while I had good days, All I can say is that its definetly a must for symptom relief.
Four years ago I had an allergy test that told me I was allergic to eggs, soy, bananas, pineapple, dairy, wheat and I knew caffeine was bad for my bladder so rarely drank that. I was very strict with my diet and not able to having eggs kept me off sugar and sweets. It got easy to say no to desserts and be satisfied with fresh fruit. I have lost a lot of weight and it has kept me thin. I feel the best I have felt with a bad case of FIBROMYALGIA that sent me to a pain clinic years back.
Thank you, I have been suffering for so long I cant remember when I felt good, The vid has opened my eyes a bit, I was in the medical profession in my youth and there was no word for this. I am going to try this, I'm poor as I can not work and my wife and I live on what ever she can make. I'm going to try a modified vegan diet, mostly raw and cooked veggies and cut down on meat, If there were a God I would ask him for help. I hope I can do this!
About 10 years ago I was dealing with Fibro syptoms that were insane. I went to a health food store and explained my symptoms. It was the first I had EVER heard about gluten sensitivity way before common knowledge. Gluten, Dairy and Soy give me IMMEDIATE inflamation, gas, bloat, constipation/diarhea (it varies), joint pain, exhaustion. Strange pains of burning and stabbing throughout body. Between knowing about food triggers and my Chiropractor I am doing alot better than most who are on meds.
Throwing my big bag of jelly beans in the bin right now.... GOTTA DO SOMETHING!!
Fibro affects my WOMANLY stuff too!!!! I get so sick because of it!!!!
How do you get the itching to stop? and the pain in my legs from the nerve damage is hard to manage, I notice the pain throughout my body is concentrated on my right side. The meds my doctor has me on doesn't seem to be working well, if anything they make me feel sick. Are there any natural herbs or supplements that can help me deal with my suffering besides diet? Any info would be appreciated, thanks.
I am disabled from psoriatic arthritis and frequent migrains and I think I'm going to use your advise here and see if it improves my symptoms!
You're welcome. I hope it helps you.
@donnadohogne Neurologically-speaking, itching can be caused by the brain being unable to "tune out" the nerves that transmit the sensation of itching. Usually a region called the PMRF in the brainstem does this.
Also, metabolically-speaking, there are a TON of factors that can contribute.
Do you have newer like 2018 videos?
Not to sound flippant, but at worst, voiding these things is not going to make your symptoms worse.
This was very useful and informative. I only use a couple out of the 7 things to avoid, so I feel good about that, but I am going to ween myself off the others. The hardest is going to be my coffee! It's going to be hard on a few things since most everything contains one or more of the things to avoid. I'm going to try a health food store.
man you said everything right I notice when I eat soy or soy milk I feel bad ! But I wonder where should I get calcium and proteins when I can't eat meat specially red meat, can't drink milk or soy milk... Our nutrient sources are very limited !
@ratiug75 Despite what you may have heard, red meat in moderation is not bad. Protein from meat helps regulate your blood sugar and provides the building blocks for neurotransmitters.
This was only a 2 part video .. He was giving us 7 foods to avoid... Part 1, he told us 4 of the foods, and part 2, gave us the last 3 foods. Hope this helped you.
Good for you.
@SheBQueen4eva I suggest stone fruits (peaches, apricots for example) eaten WITH a protein source. NO fruit juices.
Thank you so much for this info. I got the dx of fibro over 20 ys. ago. In March of 2011 on my own I went gluten free and lactose free except for yougurt, Never did eat much of the other stuff you mentioned. I never felt better. Early this yr. 2012 I started eating some sugar and other things. My symptons of fibro came back. Why don't other doctors push better nutrition? They would rather just give you a pill. I hope others watch this info. They will be helped if they follow it. Thanx again.
Jeez.... what CAN I eat, especially since I am a vegetarian??? Trying to do research... wanting to improve through diet.... but as a vegetarian, my choices are further limited. Also, I am not wealthy. Any articles or videos you recommend? Thank you :) Peace.
Darn it. I came off dairy a few years ago and thought i was going really good because I have replaced dairy with Soya products. I hate goats milk but sounds like this is no good either. I assume sheep milk is a no goer too? Not sure what other milk there is, any ideas? Gonna give the rest a try though.
Yes
Sugar is big for me. I eat a lot of fruit, especially in the morning. Do you have breakfast suggestions that eliminate sugar? Thanks
ok minus these 7 things wtf do u eat then????
Oh, I'm kinda late... I have a mild form, only had some hormonal disfunction and the very classical pains and unsteady feet so I was given as treatment the thyroxin and magnesium and a b vitamin complex, I'm feeling well enough but only those times when I have to suspend the treatment with magnesium I get pain back and insomnia gets worse. I will try to eliminate all these proteins and let you know after. I do not use any artificial sweeteners not glutamate but I do eat fruit and sugars...
thankyou soooo much for posting this video
Try being vego and following this diet..... one of the main symptoms of this crummy "syndrome" is IBS. The only way I can manage this is by following the low FODMAPS diet which means no beans. Interestingly since following the low FODMAPS diet (no wheat, no processed food, hardly any fruit and artificial sweeteners) my stomach has been better but the body pain and fatigue are much, much worse....
Great advice...
Thnaks you so much for this.
Hi Amanda.. I have UC also.. I can have cooked veggies, but not fresh.. and I wash the salad ingredients very well... you might experiment with different lettuce, some affect me more than others.
I have ulcerative colitis so of course you know I have irritable bowel also. I LOVE salads and greens but I have horrible problems with has a bloating despite the fact that I take meds for them. Is there a diet plan that you recommend ?
@wordey123 Can you be more specific as far as fruits are concerned? You said small amounts of fruits, but what type would you suggest?
What about nicotine and alcohol?
Nope. The SWEET flavor will make you crave more sugar, making it harder for you in the long run. Chemically, I'm not a fan of these artificial sweeteners...And, why do you need to use Splenda anyway?
All milk products, even fermented ones.
I think it's only 2 videos and they titled them part 1 & 2 - "7 things to Avoid"
Seems a little confusing tho because it looks like it part 2-7. Hope that helps ;)
OK so I am screwed!!! I have had gastric bypass I have to have a min of 60g of protein a day, no more than 10 g of sugar and/or fat per meal AAAAAA now what do I do
3:03 what genes would you test for? I might be interested... is it the HLA-DQ2 ?
Does Kefir milk something we should avoid?
Thank you so much for the info....is goats milk any better.... next something to eat my musley.. cheers
What about Fruit sugars? Can I eat fruit?
same here..
@RhinestoneRedneck1 The web address is in the description of the video
how about Splenda?
@MattAndJan2010 meats, vegetables, and small amounts of fruit, or honey. it only works when you do it 100%. depends how bad you want to enjoy life.
@clarkchiro Thanks for the advice....I'll do just that! :>)
sorry, it is not.
@eaglecrash I suggest NOT buying gluten-free replacements for all your previous gluten foods. They ARE more expensive. Try just NOT buying GF bread, GF cookies, GF prepared foods. IF you can, go for cooking and prepearing your own food as much as you can--meats, vegetables, low glycemic fruits. Brown rice and quinoa are fairly inexpensive, as are dry beans.
all milk products
