Hi Michael! Thanks for this video! I need to make a case for my lyre so will follow your method! What kind of stitch are you using and are you using artificial sinew for the thread?
Hi, I am using a saddle stitch. (Lots of tutorials on UA-cam.) Waxed Linen thread would have been used I think but artificial sinew or waxed polyester will be easier to use. Good luck making yours!
@@elephantsdontforget You can get sheep skin and cow skin hides in various sizes from an IKEA shop(as used in game of thrones). otherwise worth trying local carpet or flooring shop (Sheepskins are sold for rugs ) or try amazon. sheepskin leather with no fur are far more expensive and sold from upholstery/bookbinder suppliers.
@@michaeljkingHi Michael! In the video description you said you used 3 pieces of sheepskin to make the lyre case! I can only make out one piece of material being used! Where did you use the other pieces? Do you have more information on your blog about making this?
Concentration!

@@michaeljking Thank-you! And please would you recommend a good source for the sheep skin ( if it is sheep-skin) you used to make the case!
