- Top 5 High Value Guided Knife Sharpening Systems. These are my favorite budget friendly knife sharpeners that I recommend most often. I have tons of use on pretty much all of them and I get really good results. Do you have any guided sharpeners if so which one do you own? Which one do you think would work best for you?

I keep a guided field sharpener in my work truck all the time and the guided sharpening system on my desk in the shop at work. The guided sharpening system is excellent for teaching people how to freehand as well. I got a little case for it and the expansion pack.
You can keep a pencil top eraser or bit of eraser under the "stones" of the guided field unit to clean the ceramic bits.
Love Work Sharp’s products. Another great one I use daily is their Benchmade guided hone tool. It’s basically the pocket knife sharpener but has a ceramic rod and a strop instead of the diamond plate.
Great rundown of some cool sharpeners from worksharp. I have a couple and they do a great job for what they are designed to do. The aftermarket attachments you can get for the Worksharp Precision Adjust is worth mentioning as well from the clamps to the aftermarket stone holders lots of stuff to up your sharpening game. I do both freehand and guided sharpening so these are great for those on the go or may have a tight budget. Thanks for the great vid and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable.
Thanks for this video, Stassa. I think the Precision Adjust is going to be the way to go for me.
Hey Nick, just curious your thoughts on the guided sharpening system. I know in the video you said you just got it, how are you liking it? I’m thinking about either that or the precision adjust next.
I found the easiest way to get the angle is by painting the cutting edge with a black magic marker.
Oh man thanks so much I had no idea about that worksharp angle set sharpener, just like the sharpmaker or the Lansky turn box which I have been using (and it is really good) but way more angle options and 3 stages of stones rather than just two. I’d been wishing I had something exactly like this. Just ordered one!!
Precision adjust and the field sharpeners are the best ones on this list the angle Ken onion isn’t as good as the spyderco sharp maker the sharp makers stones cut any metal and they system can sharpen scissors
Or you can just buy 200 knives and never have to learn how to sharpen.
This is the way
I’m all for that as well 👌
This is definitely the way 😂
Hell i am gonna be constantly buying knives anway
Thank you so much for this run through. I am still pretty new to knives and only have the field sharpener. But my collection has grown substantially so I really need to upgrade to maybe that last one. Thanks
Get the pro one. It comes with more stuff and a bag.
The precision adjust is a POS! The whole thing moves a lot, but that's not the fatal flaw. The fatal flaw is the jaw! The jaw has no articulation, so it cannot hold fully ground blades stable. The blade slips in the jaw and that means angles aren't repeatable which means that the system isn't reliable. Save your money!!! You can get 2-3 King Deluxe Water Stones for the same price, and that's a WAY BETTER option!
Water stones aren’t a better option for someone like myself that has lost my dexterity after my accident and I’ve sharpened tons of knives on the precision adjust including full flat ground blades. It’s definitely not a perfect system however for someone who can’t freehand and doesn’t have a lot to spend on a more expensive sharpener I definitely find it to be a viable option
@@Stassa23 Sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. My experience was different. I was very excited to try it based on the price point. I was very disappointed with the stability of the system and the fact that I couldn't get the jaw tight enough to keep the blade from moving was a deal breaker for me. I was also very disappointed with the customer service when I contacted them about my concerns. They told me to return it if I don't like it. It cost me $30 to return it. That was my experience.
Thanks BOB for your HONESTY !
Workbench has some good ones for a good price. Are there similar ones that are better for 2-3 times the price? Yes, but if you are on a budget, which most of us are, it helps to have options.
I use the guided field sharpener all the time on the road.i use the persion adjust system at the house.
Great information I'm going to watch it again 👍🏻✌🏻
Nice video on 5 cool sharpeners.👍
Great video! Thanks!
The guided field sharpener and the guided bench sharpeners are great. Do you have any issues with the angle set staying put? the only reason I don't have that one is reviews saying the magnets aren't strong enough to keep the legs in place/
I’ve wondered about this too. Looks like a cool system but how stable is it? I’m leaning towards the guided sharpening system or even the Precision Adjust but not sure which one.
👍🍻
Thanks for this; the guided field sharpener makes for a good present too. (BTW, the guide angles are set at 20 degrees, not 25 degrees.)
I just went off there site , I know the diamond plate guides are 20 but it says the ceramic are set to 25 for setting a micro bevel
@@Stassa23, apologies, I thought you meant the plates. My mistake! Thanks again for showing these 👍
Nick did you say buy a new knife rather than sharpen serrated? Ceramic id agree but serrations aren’t that bad to do. See Christie’s vid on serrations.
I’ve sharpened a few serrated knives however I just don’t own any 👍
I'm on side that sharping serrated knives are a pain in the ass. I own a few of them however I will never buy another one.
I need to break out my precision adjust. The Mini Freek needs a freshening up.
