The routes are setup so that each change on the map is a different one. Where the sections turn 90 degrees is a different route.
I looked that up to be sure, but thank you for reminding me.
Apparently with how the AI is setup for the generation you would have been perfectly fine to send Kamitch in as all the pokemon would use poison powder which they are immune to.
So bulbasaur just counters the first half of Kanto.
Wouldn't the snorlax on the docks be your one pokemon for that area?
Technically yes, but I didn't think about that at all, and I think it might count as a set encounter like sudowudo and eevee in gen 2.
Easily able to take down the fighting type gym now.
The extra levels helped out.
