- We all love the different match types in the WWE 2K/WWE games series, and there's even been some match types that have only appeared in the career modes and never playable outside of them, technically making them non existent outside of the career mode.

The U-topian rule in svr 2009, was strange but, i loved it. The 5 count was also cool and creative. Man, i miss RTWM.

Better Than Utopia... That storyline against MVP was pretty cool.
I know it's not the same, but at least it's something to think about. A match type that only existed in WWE games and not in real life, was the 6-Man Tag Elimination Chamber. I can't remember if the first time in a game was in SvR 2007 or 08, but it's really rare that match type
it actually happened in wwe i think back in 2016 but you are right the matchtype existed way before that
I think you are referring to the Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber match at may 2015. Even so, it's not the same because in that match, there were 6 teams, so it's still very different than the 6-man tag elimination chamber match

I'm pretty sure the Six-Man tornado EC match was there since HCTP. It was an option for a loooooong time.
Was in SvR 2006 :) I had this huge storyline that I made up that was just a year of Team Angle (Angle, Haas and Shelton) vs Los Mystuerros (Rey, Eddie and Chavo) lol.
6 man tag elimination chamber got a lot of use in that one haha.
The Better-Than-Utopia rules were done in two wwe games. It was rebranded as the Age of Orton rules in SVE2011 (I think) also on the RTWM for John Cena

I’m hoping that we get both 5V5 and wargames matches in 2K23 honestly because they would both be so much fun
I think 5 v 5 will be exclusive to the next gen versions.

The Better than U-Topia rules were not only used in SvR 2009. They were brought back in SvR 2011, being renamed the Age of Orton rules.
They even specifically name dropped SvR09 in a cutscene
Finn Bàlor being on the same team with Becky Lynch made sense to me although it was in a game, that's because Finn actually trained Becky, or helped train her so it was pretty cool to me
WWE 12s one was a great idea and would be amazing to see in exhibition or even in real life
With the hardware available now it’s ridiculous the new WWE games don’t contain every single match type that’s been in previous games
I remember in the Wrestlemania 21 game they had a Triple Threat Ladder Match and a Tag Team Tables match in the career mode which wasn’t playable at all in exhibition.

2K20's storyline looks nuts. It takes place over 7 years? And they worked Samoa Joe being fired for 7 years for one angle??? And he comes back with a robot arm???
That meter thing in SvR 2010 in RTWM was honestly awesome, I have to say, And i was confused at first, But after replaying it again, That was so cool. Even if it doesn't matter or fit as a match type.
2K23 needs War Games, Ambulance Match & Casket Match.

2k14- Body slam challenge (Andre vs big John stud)
2k15- casket match HHH vs Kane, 3 stages of hell HHH vs HBK
2K16 buried alive match SCSA vs undertaker
Buried Alive match was in SvR '06 and '07, Casket Match was in SmackDown! 2 on PSX, while 3 stages of Hell was in one of WWE's GBA games

In WWE 2K20, Tre competes against Velveteen Dream in a Spotlight Match, where the only way to win is to use your opponent's finisher on them.
Alright here's a match type that I only saw in one WWE game. This match was in WWE SVR 2007 during the season mode (btw I forget how to get to it but it was interesting) a Triple Threat Tag Team match.
I remember in the original SVR there was a triple threat tag team ladder match for Trish's thong.

The Better Than U-Topia rules made a brief appearance in SvR's 2011 in John Cena's RTW.
the u-topia rule also exists in svr 2011 in john cena's rtwm as randy brings it back in tag team match between mvp and cena vs i think it was sheamus and big show
They really should add the wwe 12' wargames type match
It would honestly be amazing if all of those match types being shown in the video, along with all of those most recent real life ones on WWE television, can just appear both on WWE television through its weekly programs AND in the annual WWE 2K video game series.

And in the 1st clip of this video he said "Never to be seen from again" Heard, not seen, would be the correct word. But I'm just nit-picking. Thought it was funny
Man they really need some better direction for the voice overs in these games. Somebody to just say something as simple as "say it like you're, you know, delivering a PROMO" since that's what it's meant to be...

My immediate thought for this list was from SVR10, also from Brand Warfare. The falls count anywhere ironman match that caps off the story. Couldn't do that in the game outside RTWM mode.
I think in later games you could do a Falls Count Anywhere Ironman match due to the match Creator introduced later. These are all storyline matches/stipulations that you can't replay out side the story mode.

The WWE 12 was weird. I think they just couldn't secure the rights to Wargames at that time because it was certainly a wargames type of match just that it was an elimination match, inside HIAC, and with the falls already happening before everyone comes in. As a kid playing at that time, I was so confused lol

It has a pretty amazing story mode for a late entry in the SVR series ( 2nd to last that is ) .
What about the 5 count match and 3 stages of hell match also we never actually had an ambulance match outside of career mode and its the same thing with a stretcher match

In a way you did and SmackDown versus Raw 07 and 08 if you had a special in the parking lot brawl you drag your opponent over to the back of the Hearst and use your special you pull out a casket and throw them into it and push it back in the Hurst and the hearse will take off and you went by knockout

2k20 story mode is so weird but amazing at the same time. It devolves into madness so quickly. The Samoa Joe arm thing was just icing cause in the context of the story, WWE became a lawless land without a gm and technically takes place in the years of 2030+

The Casket match between Triple H and Kane in WWE2K15 and The Buried Alive match Between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker in WWE2K16 and let me be clear. I know they are playable in the old games but in the newest games like the 2K series they aren't.

For anyone like me driven mad trying to place the background music from the War Games section, it's from WCW VS NWO World Tour. Oddly I found it had better music than the sequel Revenge, Revenge was more 90's generic grunge where WT leaned more toward 80's high energy rock. In hidsight both had way better soundtracks than we really should have expected at the time.

The old SvR games I used people from the actual roster or created characters. 2k games seems to only be created characters
How about rules in matches used in one game but not in others. Example: both superstars are down and the ref starts the 10 count, can cause a double ko/draw
